The young man who appeared to be in charge, offered to have staff find my part for me, so I handed over the old part, received a new part from an older gentleman and checked out. It was the wrong size. I went back, telling the young man that I could not make the 1.5" part I was provided fit the 1.25" fitting (as it was not the same size as the part I provided for replacement), only to be thoroughly offended as he told me perhaps I needed a plumber (to replace a HAND tightened PVC sink trap). I assured him I was perfectly capable of changing out the simple part, when I HAVE the CORRECT replacement part. I showed him the original part and the wrong part, and received another trap. That did NOT fit. Both employees failed to note that the trap I provided was threaded on only ONE end and therefore gave me traps threaded on both ends. I take full responsibility for failing to check the replacement parts both times BEFORE purchase, as I had unfortunately grown accustomed to trusting the employees to know their business. After all, isn't it just a game of matching the part? Observation skills? Maybe that just can't be trained :-/ So now I had lost the time, distance, and convenience factors (thereby wasting my client's money) of going to Do It Best vs a big box store and I had been insulted. I went to the store a third time, rather frustrated, I think for good reason, only to find the young man had NO INTEREST WHATSOEVER in ASSISTING me with finding the correct part. He outright told me to go to a big box store. So much for the benefits one used to find by going to the local store :-(. Truly disappointing in a store I once enjoyed going to and whose employees were always kind and welcoming. Albeit, the woman behind the counter was still friendly and the guy at the paint counter was quite welcoming. Too bad it wasn't paint that I needed that day. Perhaps some employee training, education, or rearranging can help redeem the store eventually. But customer service like that was MUCH MUCH worse than no customer service at all! In the end, I looked for and found the correct part independently at a local family owned store. If you want something done right...

Popped in here before 9am on a very rainy Friday morning. I was the only customer in the store…read more I was on the hunt for a microwave light bulb, knowing I would be paying 5x's as much for it here as compared to buying a box of the bulbs on Amazon. But I couldn't remember the exact size of his tiny bulb, so off to Ace I went. Michael, who helped me match the bulb, was super friendly. Thanks, Michael! Is merchandise overpriced? Yes, depending on what it is. In defense of hardware stores everywhere, they simply can't buy in bulk like larger retailers can. Because of this you don't see Amazon & Walmart prices. However, the store is very, very well organized and clean, offers superb customer service and has very convenient hours. I would definitely return again for anything that's urgently needed. They do have great sales on items throughout the seasons; grass seed, mulch, tools, outdoor equipment and more. My single, teeny, weeny bulb cost me about $8. I turned around and bought a box of 10 bulbs for $10 on Amazon. Lightbulbs won't bring me back to Ace, but I'm sure something else will.

I love hardware stores and this is a really nicely organized one that smells clean and is well stocked. Prices are reasonable, lots of sales too. Great all around. They promised a 25% discount/return if I would accept the item as-is, but I had to call and demand the refund three times, and never got it. I also bought the extended warranty, but when I tried to register on-line, the website did not work correctly. I could not even set-up an account. Home Depot sucks now. AVOID THEM!!!!

We had someone who tried to start the tractor while on our way back and we got a call that the tractor wasn't working so when we got back there, we told this one guy that it wasn't working. He proceeded to act like my mom was stupid and didn't know what she was talking about, while asking for a ball we got a call that the tractor was working, we told him that it had worked again, THEN PROCCEDED TO START MAKING SNID COMMENTS ABOUT THEM. Then when they were loading the ball on HE GOES FULL SPEED ALMOST TO THE BACK END OF THE TRAILER. I was in the car with my siblings, the whole car shaked, doors closed because how fast he was going, then he slammed things down. I don't care how mad you are you are in a business that you should represent it with kindness and patience. Absolutely rude, and unprofessional, and you additionally endangered kids in the car with your immaturity.
