When I tried to bring up an issue I've been experiencing, he dismissed it immediately and referred me elsewhere without even examining me. I left feeling unheard and frustrated. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone and will not be returning to this clinic.

Came in to see Dr. Alvarez for an annual week visit (as required by my Medicare Advantage insurance…read morecompany). I had to fill out several pages of forms prior to seeing the Doctor. These were forms to be completed by hand (not digital, old school) and then had to be entered manually by the receptionist. I was a new patient and it would have been nice to have completed these forms online, prior to my visit. My appointment was set for 10:00. I did not get in the back for my triage until 10:30 and did not see the Doctor until after 11:00. They do not use a digital scales or blood pressure machines. Medical devices could use some updating. They required me to have an EKG, even though I expressed that I did not want one. They told me they would not bill my insurance and that it was for internal use only and was required by the Doctor. The examining room had rules on the wall and advertising for allergy testing, with two notices to turn your phone off as well as a referral policy. No artwork. The lobby was also decorated with policies on all the walls. Although, they did have lots of brochures for services and magazines on the waiting area. Now for my visit with Dr. Alvarez... the Doctor had a wonderful bedside manner. He was warm and friendly. Dr. Alvarez gave me a thorough exam and gave me some good medical advice. He spent a fair amount of time with me, I did not feel rushed. I would highly recommend Dr. Alvarez to anyone seeking a solid primary care physician.

When someone is unaware and needs to be educated you do not hang up on them, you correct them. It is common knowledge to say goodbye before ending a call. Just normal manners. Which they have NONE!!! During our second visit, while I was speaking with the receptionist, my child was standing next to…read moreme at the front desk. There were business cards displayed on the desk within reach. My child picked up one stack and was simply holding and moving the cards from one hand to another. The receptionist addressed my child in a noticeably rude tone and said, "Put those cards back." I responded that my child had done nothing harmful to the cards. She repeated herself in an even harsher manner and stated that the cards were not meant to be played with and that my child had to put them back. I took the cards and showed that they were not bent, damaged, written on, or torn -- my child had simply been holding them. At that point, one of the doctors joined the conversation. He introduced himself as being in charge of the clinic and spoke in what I considered to be a nasty, aggressive, and disrespectful tone. During the conversation, I told him that this was not an appropriate way to speak to people and that, as a psychologist, he should know how to communicate with people. His response was, "Yes, and as a psychologist, I see what stands in front of me," which I found deeply disrespectful and dehumanizing. Another issue that was brought up during this argument involved a small table in the waiting area. During a previous visit, my child stepped on the lower support piece underneath the table and it broke. At our next visit, the staff mentioned it to me. I apologized, and nothing further was said about it, so I believed the situation had been resolved. However, during this disagreement, the doctor brought it up again and said that we had broken their table. I reminded him that this had already been discussed. Since the table appeared old and the paint was visibly chipped and worn, I offered to replace it with a similar new table that I estimated would cost around $50. However, he stated that I owed him $200 for it. The broken piece was not the table itself but a lower support piece that did not affect its functionality. What surprised me was that an issue I believed had already been resolved was brought back up during an unrelated conflict. He then stated that clients like us were not welcome and asked us to leave the clinic. I told them that we also would not continue visiting a place where staff raise their voices at children and treat families disrespectfully. I asked to cancel all future appointments and prepared to leave. However, the interaction continued. The doctor remained angry, continued raising his voice, and followed us as we were leaving the clinic. At that point, I said that I would leave a review about this clinic because people deserve to know how clients are treated here. His response was that if I did that, he would sue me. I asked what legal grounds there would be for that -- because my child touched business cards that were left openly accessible and were not damaged in any way? In my opinion, a mental health clinic that works with children should demonstrate patience, emotional regulation, and respectful communication. In my experience, the staff's behavior toward my child and toward me was dismissive, confrontational, and inconsistent with the supportive environment I expected from a children's psychological and psychiatric practice. Parents deserve to know about experiences like this before choosing where to seek help for their children.

Recently I've worked with Daphkar Dubreuil following Jackelyn's recommendation. She's a positive and empathetic therapist. I've only seen her a few times but I can already tell we're a good fit. The front desk is always very responsive. If they don't answer the phone, they call you back right away. The practice is run by Dr. Robbin's, he's constantly researching new ways of treating his patients and thinks outside the box. She stays with you as long as you need her and to me, that is the most important. My quality care is absolutely wonderful. I never leave the office feeling unanswered or having questions what I don't think of she does. The office staff is all very sweet and gets their job done as as they are asked they make you feel like they are your friends and that's also important to me. I like to Feel like I mean something to them and to all. And for my last bit of information you couldn't ask for a finer doctor and staff anywhere. I drive 45 minutes to go to her office and if it was further, I'd drive that as well.

I've had excellent service at memorial urgent care center. Today, I hit the lottery because when I…read morepulled up there was no one in the waiting room. I had been bitten by dozens of red ants on my feet and one of the bites was infected. They quickly and compassionately took care of me. I was given antibiotics and the doctor advised me to wear open toed shoes for a while. She also told me to lay off of the hydrogen peroxide for the time being as it was burning the infection site. From start to finish, everyone was kind and helpful! I consider Memorial Urgent Care to be my go to place for Urgent Care.
