What happened over the next week and a half was discouraging. I told them that I had a very restricted schedule (because I am a teacher). I cannot leave classes just because I have movers coming over. We tried to find a time, but it was hard. Eventually I asked my boss for a favor so I could get a time that would work. He let me out of a faculty meeting. This was a big favor. I worked hard to meet these movers halfway! But then on the day of the move, the movers called to say "Hey, we're done early today. Can we come to your place now?" It was TWO HOURS BEFORE THE AGREED TIME! I had to teach my class! What the hell? Who do these people think they are? I should leave work two hours earlier than OUR AGREED TIME just because it was MORE CONVENIENT FOR THE MOVERS? I tried to reach the dispatcher, Judy. I called her twice, but she didn't pick up. She claimed that she called me twice, but my phone said she hadn't. My phone ALWAYS picks up the missed calls. Her movers were certainly able to reach me via the same number. Judy said that she COULDN'T SEND THE MOVERS AT THE AGREED TIME BECAUSE SHE "DIDN'T WANT THEM WAITING AROUND FOR TWO HOURS." She said that over EMAIL. WHY ARE HER SCHEDULING ISSUES MY PROBLEM? It is not my problem! A DEAL IS A DEALl! I CALLED IN A FAVOR FROM MY BOSS SO I COULD BE THERE AT A TIME CONVENIENT FOR THE MOVERS, AND THEN THEY DON'T SHOW UP??? Too bad, favor wasted, because YOUR MOVE MOVERS DIDN'T WANT TO DO THEIR JOBS. When I talked to Judy on the phone, to her credit, she apologized tepidly. But she also said that nothing could be done about it. She made it seem like SHE was doing ME a favor by agreeing for such a late move time (4pm to 5pm). "Movers start early. The work hard and they finish early." She said she worked really hard to find a time for me, she really did me a favor. Great, that would have been nice IF THEY HAD SHOWN UP. You said 4-5PM, BE THERE AT 4-5PM! AND DON'T ACT LIKE YOU ARE _DOING_ME_A_FAVOR_BY_DOING_YOUR_JOB! Who do these people think they are? I cancelled my order. I will not be using them. I will be using someone else. This is flabbergasting, unacceptable. I can't hand over money to people who do such a miserable job with their customer service. Use someone else, someone who actually cares about their customers. Judy lost my sale, and broke a promise just because she can't schedule properly and because she didn't want to have her movers "sitting around for two hours" because she didn't have anything scheduled for them. Better Call Moving Review: Bait-and-Switch Pricing and Deceptive Billing…read more My experience with Better Call Moving was one of the worst billing experiences I have had with a service company. I provided their sales person with the crate's exact weight, inch-by-inch dimensions, pickup details, and delivery address before he quoted me a little over $500. I approved the quote and paid a $100 deposit, but on delivery day he admitted that he had supposedly made an error and unilaterally added another $175. In my opinion, that is a textbook bait and switch. The problems did not stop with the price increase. Instead of driving directly to the delivery address, Better Call Moving returned the crate to its warehouse, unpacked it, repacked the furniture into another truck, and combined it with other customers' shipments. They then took a wrong route to the destination, which their dispatcher acknowledged, yet attempted to bill me for ALL of this additional driving, handling, and wasted time. Anyone searching for Better Call Moving reviews should understand that this was not simply an estimate that changed because the job changed. The crate's dimensions and weight never changed, and the company had that information before giving me the original quote. I cannot prove whether the initial quote was an intentional LIE, and I am not alleging criminal THEFT, but trying to charge me for their own mistakes and profit-driven decisions felt deeply dishonest and, in my opinion, involved DECEIT. I disputed the improper portion of the charge and submitted documentation to my bank. Based on my experience, I would not trust Better Call Moving's quotes or billing practices, and I would not use this company again.

It took about a week to fill them with all our stuff. They're nest-able when empty and stackable when full. On moving day, our crew was thrilled that everything was ready to go and in such handy crates. It was raining, so cardboard boxes would have been a nightmare. It took about 5 days to empty them, and Alex arrived on time to pick them up from my new place. Amazing!! Highly recommend. And more eco-friendly, since the crates can be re-used many times.
