Apartments are big compared to what we usually get in jersey city. and the rent is also affordable. they have free shuttle to grove street path station which is a big plus for commuters. society is very quiet and neighbors too. maintenance issues were also resolved very fast. good thing is that they are providing indoor parking which is necessary in snowy season. we are looking forward to stay here longer time. #lovewhereyoulive read more

I would give a negative star rating if it were possible. This is the worst place I have ever lived. I pay a very heavy rent for what is advertised as a good, SAFE, nice place to live. What I received was an overpriced, dirty, constantly vandalized, very unsafe place for the monthly rent so high it's double an average mortgage. And most doors won't even open! Matinence has been caught in my apartment for no reason with no prior notice, cars get stolen and tires get jacked and left on cement blocks, racist slurs written on the walls, ketchup and paint sprayed everywhere and the latest a bomb threat! Never ever move in here !!!!!! This place it's the worst luxury living u r gonna have. Me and my Husband moved in when this complex had a different management company. It was much nicer and quite there . Since Harbor pointe took over we stop like this place. I could not wait to move out from there. Let's start with fire alarms ! Min twice a month . Sometimes in the middle of the night. Happens to us at 3 am , 12 am and so on. So u need to get up in the middle of the night of the crazy sound alarm and go downstairs and wait until fire department comes and fix the problem !!! It's crazy!!! There is always a smell in the hallways , people smoke and you can not even open the balcony. If your apartment faaar away from the main entrance get ready to walk all over the building in order to get home ! My husbands key did not open all the doors for almost a year and no one can fix it . We always pay on time , never late . Once we got a 100$ fine for "late payment" on holiday weekends when the office was close . I requests to take care of this and none could help. Alison said that if we don't pay they sending it to collection so it's our responsibility. Once your lease is getting expired they also sending you fines so u can come to the office and talk to them about renewing the lease . It's our of control ! We rent before and normally if you want to leave earlier your lease is over the management company let you go without a problem if your give at lease 1-2 month notice . To harbor pointe we gave 4 month notice but it's did not help . They want to charge you fully plus they taking your deposit, fixing and cleaning apartment with your money without letting you know so when u leave they sent you a bill and you don't have any right to dispute it . You need to pay in full and right away! I pay online for some reason the payment did not go through and no one knows why , so it's extra 50$ to a final bill . Just crazy ! I sent them a check and in few days someone was calling me and asking for my debit card info to make it faster . And I was explains to him that the check is on the way ! So we really really disappointed about this place and I would not recommend to no one. read more

I've lived at Harbor Pointe for about 18 months and it has been nothing but the best. It is about a 20 minute commute to Manhattan. Nice quiet area to live in to get away from the city. Place is well kept and maintenance is on standby if anything breaks. Can't beat the price. Office staff that is great and very professional, especially Jason who helped me move in and move out. read more

I've been a resident at Harbor Pointe for 3 years. I usually don't write any comments but for future residents you should know what your getting yourself into before signing a lease here. - Management is not always helpful and in a lot of ways very condescending. I find that everyone is not on the same page and they play favoritism with some residents. - Maintenance for non- emergency takes them about 3 - 4 days sometimes longer to fix repairs in your apartment - The Walls are paper thin you can hear EVERYTHING literally!! I sometimes have to send my child in another room cause you can hear more than u wish. - They charge you all these fees but they took away the basketball hoops and turned it into a yoga studio meanwhile they have an exercise room. (No fun for the kids) They charge you for guest that come to the pool. - The parking Garage... they Charge you $65 to park your car I pay for three spots 2 cars and a motorcycle even though I park my motorcycle behind my car because they been stealing motorcycles out of the garages they still charge me for the third spot and it's not being used (pathetic) Meanwhile they send emails out about they don't want cars tailgating but they leave the garage gates up after hours and that's Management that leaves it open cause non of the residents has access to keep the gates open for long periods of time. - There Fire Alarm System goes off randomly and repeatedly throughout the day and night. - They don't care about your mail they mix up my mail with another resident all the time. They don't even notify you when your package is here you have to track your order to make sure it has arrived then u have to go an look for it (Terrible) The only thing this Management company sees is Money. God forbid your late with rent (which I never been late not once since I been here). They will have a letter at your door within the two hours of them being in the office but maintenance don't show up for days and that's excusable because they are "short staff". - There are some residents that have marked racial remarks on the walls. - EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED I can't wait until my lease is up I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!! I having being living at Harbor Pointe for over 2 years. After a year of stay I upgraded to a two bedroom and signed an extended lease of 15 months. I have had only few occasions where i had to speak with the management. So i will not generalize my comments about the entire group of people working here. Recently I worked with Jason Estrella for my apt move and lease upgrade. He was very helpful - gave me all the relevant info, had all the paper work ready and completed, got the new apt ready in time, did all the checks before move and recored all the details. He was always accessible in person or via email to answer any leasing related questions. I have read all the reviews here. I agree with few but i also feel people write reviews only when they have had a bad experience. Also there have been few changes that I have noticed over last 2 years. Few things I want to point based on my experience - 1. The bus service until mid 2016 was really bad. This changed with US coachways coming in. The buses are well maintained and run on time. 2. The package service did not exist until beginning of 2016. Last year a new automated package concierge was installed which is pretty good for small to medium size packages. Although sometimes the package are left outside and you get a notification. Haven't had any damages though. 3. I have had 4 maintenance requests (light fixture, sink, flush issues) and all of them have been addressed in a day. 4. I have never used the pool or the club house so I will not comment on that. I did use the gym few times and it is okay. 5. Had few occasions of fire evacuations and the noise from the fire alarm is just too loud for kids. 6. Never used the parking garage but had no issues with street side parking 7. The exit doors would not work with fob keys. Just last week I saw them getting fixed. Like waking up from the loudest fire alarm ever being produced and be placed right next to your bed? Like waking up from that alarm multiple times in a month around 1 to 3am? By all means, move here. You will get to experience true luxury stranded in the streets waiting for the fire trucks to come and turn of the alarms. Have a baby? No better way to let your babies, especially infants, have seizures than living in an apartment with state of the art fire alarms that are so loud and bright (yes they flash) that have you shaking (literally) every time they go off. And if you have to deal with the management here, they should be paying you money to deal with them for the terrible job they do. Try Emailing them on an issue. You would never get an acknowledgement or a reply. Walk in to the office and ask why they never reply - "because the person who used to reply to emails has quit'. That's the response i got. I have stayed here for over year. I signed a lease with with the previous owner. When my wife joined me later, i got her added to the lease. They updated all the systems, however did not sign the printed copy. Now when I need a proof of residence, i get a lease document with no signatures on it. The new manager here doesn't know the basics of 'service'. I wonder how service companies hire people who do not know how to service people courteously. they can't give me any legal document as a proof of residence. They bought the business from someone and if someone did a shoddy work, it's their shit now to deal with. Now I am being asked to reach out to the previous management. Or to resolve it with con-service that generates monthly bill letter and derives it from their system, they would not freaking call them on their own to have my wife's name added to account. Con service and the leasing office keep passing the blame to each other why it is not working. I am supposed to call them and then make them speak to the manager as if I am her PA. WTF. The apartment is true luxury living in a reasonable price range, compared to similar properties in NYC or the Jersey City area. However, the shuttle service that management provides to take residents to/from Grove St is laughable. The commute to Grove St itself is about 20 mins but if you plan to take the shuttle there during rush hour, you need to wait at least 30 mins to get in! The shuttles are very small (can seat only 12) and there are at least 50 people waiting to get to Grove during rush hour. There's new management but they don't seem to understand the plight of residents who depend on this service to get to work. However, if you don't have to depend on this service to commute, I would recommend the place. There's lots of open space, a gym, in house washer and dryer as well as a small club house and swimming pool. Most importantly, garage parking is $35 a month which is unheard of in this area! Unless the shuttle service is improved, several residents plan to leave the apartments. read more

Needed a short term arrangement until I closed on my new home. Decided to rent a unit from Harbor Point. Con: fire alarms continuously went off, very expensive premium for short term stay, market rate fluctuates for month to month leasing, additional fees for trash, water, sewage, amenities, and trash facility contributed to unpleasant odors near stairways, hallways and entrances. Pro: short term and flexible leasing options, newly renovated units, private balcony, washer/dryer, great scenery, and Jason Estrella who was very accommodating and always pleasant and professional to work with. read more

I LOVE this place and I love my apartment!!! My fiancee and I just moved here from Jersey City and are truly happy we found this place. Matt in the leasing office was very pleasant and took very good care of us throughout the application process to move in. Jason also provided world class assistance during move in day when Matt was unavailable. I'll be honest, Sara was initially skeptical about moving here because of the previous reviews listed on here and we had to come back to speak with current residents to confirm or deny the stuff written on here. Needless to say, every resident I met was very happy here which gave her peace of mind and we could not have been happier with the decision we made. The place is amazing, the shuttle is punctional (and very comfortable) and the people that work here and live here truly make me feel at home. I had the BEST tour when I originally visited the complex. Tamika was amazing! Then I moved in to my apartment and I can't even begin to tell you the list of complaints. From being EXTREMELY dirty, to the attitude of the staff it is INSANE. I have constant maintance issues and am always afraid to write a maintance request because the maintance guy pouts and gives me an attitude when he has to fix something. Which is his job soooooo not quite sure what the issue is there. The office staff completely made it all out that I'm this horrible mean tenant for wanting the "luxury apartment" I PAY FOR. The office manager has the worst attitude of them all. If I could break my lease without paying a penalty I would in heartbeat to get out of here. read more

I loved Alexan City view (prior management) from the way they ran everything to the leasing agents and management to the way they truly cared about the residents. As far as Harbor Pointe where do I begin , first off their main and only concern is moving people in and that is all. Once your a resident they don't care, it's been months that my maintenance request has been unanswered. One was about a broken window in the winter I started withholding my rent! Harbor Pointe is the absolute worst place you can choose to live. I cannot wait until my lease is up. I moved here in July 2015 and there have been nothing but problems from day one. The apartments are fairly new, about 5-6 years old, yet are deteriorating fast because of the Section 8 housing residents who don't take care of anything. My apartment faces the ship yard and I get awakened at 4:30am every morning from trucks honking at each other. It sounds like they are in my apartment - it's that loud. It's miserable and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Let's get into the biggest issue with this place - the shuttles. The shuttles never come on time and sometimes don't even come at all so you are stranded and can't get to work or go home at night. The drivers have no sense of urgency in the morning to get everyone to the PATH in a reasonable amount of time. It takes about 35-40 minutes to get to Grove St which is ridiculous considering you can drive your car and get there in 15 minutes with traffic. So your commute to NYC takes an hour and half each way. There is a large Indian population in this community so the shuttles smell so horrible that you have to hold your nose the whole ride. It's not worth the headache to live here just to save some money. It's worth spending a little more to live near public transportation and where they don't allow Section 8 housing to avoid situations like this. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

I could have given it 4 star but the shuttle service is a big joke however i understand this is something that is beyond management. I will touch upon that later however let me first address some of the feedback that i read here which is not entirely true. I mean people complaining about thin walls - really? These are apartment complexes and thin walls are a reality. Though i am not sure how thin are these walls because i have been living here for more than a year with neighbors living on both sides and never heard a thing. Unless the upper floor occupant is some ghost(as i haven't heard any noise from there as well) i can vouch for the fact that walls are reasonably thick that it wont bother you. Secondly i have called maintenance so many times and have also got response in reasonable time(same day or at max the next day). Apartments are neat with large closets depending upon the size and the floor plan you are interested in. So honestly no complains as such. This is a beautiful apartment complex. The area will give you a nice feeling as there are decent open spaces and very nice amenities. The new management has taken lot of initiatives which includes food trucks, game nights, movie nights, events for toddlers, pet grooming, Zumba, Aerobics, yoga and what not. Pool is decent though only 5 feet won't give you much of a thrill in case you are a pro(b/w apartment complex pools are not for training for olympics either). Decent gym as well as reigns of what used to be basket ball court(misuse by tenants broke it) which is now being used for all the above mentioned classes add to its glory. Even though all these goodies are there i am still not renewing my lease. Why? because i am a lazy bum. I travel to mid-town for work and want to take the 8 AM shuttle only. The management has changed the shuttles which used to carry only 12 people at a time(imagine the plight during rush hours) however they can't do jack about the traffic. During rush hours the average time for this shuttle to reach grove stations is 40 minutes. Sometimes it may take 50 minutes as well. Now depending upon how much you need to walk from WTC or 33rd Street you can calculate your daily commute. If you are not lazy like me and can catch 7:20 or 7:40 shuttle then you would be all good. In case you don't mind spending extra bucks then the best route is to catch light rail(shuttle from complex is every 10 min) and get down at Exchange place or Newport depending upon your commute. A couple of thefts like cars tires being stolen etc have happened but then i would blame more those people who wanna chose saving a meager $35 for covered and safer parking vs parking on the roads. Anyways management have started some patrolling however i believe it won't change much, so keep that aspect in mind when you make a choice. Fire Alarms are super sensitive here and almost every month we used to hear them for atleast couple of times. It seems to have improved over the time however don't be surprised if some idiot chose to smoke in the hallway or open the main doors to get rid of smoke due to cooking in their respective kitchen. Why i have written such a lengthy review - well when i was looking for an apartment complex my wife was 7 months pregnant and reviews were the only thing i was mostly dependent upon. I was very nervous when i started the lease because there were so many negative reviews however most of them turned out to either fixed before i came or overblown frustrations of some people.It is a known fact that people who didn't like a place are more motivated to write reviews than people who liked the place. Never get into this apartment!! There will be some issue every week and you can't feel it home as these things keep bothering you. One day you will see racist remarks on the walls, one day you here about some robbery, one day some car parked outside will be without wheels! It's a never ending story. The package concierge is a joke, you will never know if you will get your package home. And last but not least, the so called luxury, wi-if enabled shuttle service, hahaha! Yes, it is luxury and wi-fi enabled but you will never know when you can get into it. The schedule is ridiculous in the peak times, all your plans for meetings at work etc will never go right! If you are considering moving here for any reason whatsoever DON'T. Never in my life I have experienced a ruder, more negligent and unprofessional management company like the one here at Harbor Pointe. ANY POSITIVE REVIEW is from Management.This place would've 0 STARS otherwise. MANAGEMENT COMPANY: Whoever is in charge doesn't give a damn about residents and their problems. Any email/problem gets completely ignored as well as repair requests. After 4 emails complaining about the poor shuttle service I finally got one useless email (IN JANUARY) from a girl named Allison saying they would discuss the problem and try to find a solution, and a call from a girl named Kelly which also served no purpose as the problems still remain ignored and unsolved till this day. Spring - another woman working there - is the rudest person you'll have to deal with. She should be restrained from having any type of contact with people. All these ppl think about is setting up yoga classes for residents to pay for while ignoring any real problem. SHUTTLE RIDES: When this complex was the Alexan City View, shuttles used to come and go at intervals of 10/15 minutes sometimes even less that that. They'd pick people up as soon they'd arrive and leave right away to bring them to the PATH station. The service wasn't perfect as the shuttles were too small and could only carry so many people at a time, but at least there were several rides an hour and the drivers tried to do their best. The new mngmnt company introduced newer/bigger shuttles that accommodate more people but only come 3 times an hour(every 20 minutes), shuttles get filled shortly and no matter how much time in advance you try to catch one you still won't be able to. My girlfriend stepped out at 7:30AM today to catch the 7:40AM ride and by that time the shuttle was already full. Meaning she would have had to wait for 8AM to catch the next shuttle and get to the PATH at 8:30am or later, making a ride to the PATH station that would only take 20 mins a 50 mins wait in total. If you add the time it takes the PATH train to get to Manhattan, and the time it takes you to get to your office from once you're off the PATH you can understand the service is totally unreliable and inefficient. Kelly on the phone said they can provide only 3 rides an hr because they dont have enough shuttles, - totally untrue as most of the shuttles sit outside the complex with their engine on waiting for their ride time before finally deciding it's time to bring ppl to work. I sent management countless pictures of shuttles waiting around the complex so that people don't bother them while they could have let people on and bring them to work but they act like they don't know anything about it. HALLWAYS: We moved here last September and there was a big vomit stain on the carpet of the hallway. An year later the stain is still there. Trash rooms are filthy/dirty and they rarely get cleaned. RESIDENTS: Residents are 80% Indians, 10% black and 10% white/other nationalities. Hallways smell of curry 24/7 as the majority of them leave their doors open when they cook, shuttles too smell like spices mixed with revolting armpit sweat - constantly. KEYFOBS: They don't work with all doors, Management never bothered replacing them, you are forced to use only certain entrances if you want to access the complex. PACKAGES: They got rid of the doorman the other mngmnt company had and they no longer accept packages. UPS, USPS, and FEDEX are forced to leave them in the mail room or in front of your door so that anybody can steal them. The electronic concierge system they implemented is down every other day, so packages get lost or returned to the sender or as it usually happens get stolen. It's a shame this place is run by such an unprofessional and negligent mngmt company as it is objectively a really beautiful spot with lots of potential. But considering how poorly is managed it's only destined to deteriorate even more as time goes by. Our lease is up this Sept. and we can't wait to get away from here as fast as we can. read more

Horrible place and the only good reviews are openly bribed reviews. they pay residents to write good reviews and after some number of good reviews they get about $500 off from their rent. I think you can do it once or twice a year. So I am not exaggerating when I say I have seen homeless shelters in better shape as volunteer. read more

Firstly let me acknowledge that I know the community isn't perfect, but when we have a close to perfect Block Party turned Clubhouse Extravaganza, I think it's important to note. When the all day rain forecast threatened the party and many residents weren't certain it would go on, the team moved the party inside. Though it was all more suited for outside, it was nicely set up in the Clubhouse, almost like it was meant to be. The food was good, the sangria was great and though my husband had to bring his own beer (he's a beer snob and doesn't drink Coors Light or Corona), we still had a great time. The obstacle course bouncey was a hit with both the kids and grown ups. The face painter made some magical art. The lady doing the balloon art was great as usual. The reason I am writing a review is for none of the above. Instead it is because of the way the staff all came out and played a big role in making the party happen for us. At previous parties or events it's usually one, Spring, and maybe one other. Spring was during her usual making things happen. I was impressed with the rest of the team. It was GREAT! It was everything from Kelly leading the action on the piñata, musical chairs, limbo and anything else that needed to be organized. Jason gave up his day job to be videographer for the day :-) Priya who is ever so consistently on her game in the office was a nice welcoming face and present throughout the party. Al and Trey were helping with making the kids' fun time activities move along. If I haven't mentioned everyone by name, it's because I have to wrap this up and get on with my day. Now that Harbor Pointe has been managing this place for almost 1 year I am not a happy camper. They raised the rent almost 10%, stopped cleaning the floors in the building, now they expect us to do repairs on the apartments like change batteries in the smoke and carbon monoxide detector that are about 10 feet high on the celing and if you are only 5 feet talll it is very hard to reach. They also expect us to change the central air conditioning filters in the apartments, which I have no ideal where it is located. Guess the next time the lock on my front door doesnt work I will have to call a locksmith. I moved out of a house so that I would not have to do these repairs. The people in the office never answer the phone and nothing is considered to be an emergency to them, My smoke detector alarm went off and it took them 3 days to put a new battery in it, lucky I didn't wind up in the mental institution. My Family was out of town and I could not reach the detector to take the battery out. No one even knows where their corporate office is, everything is done by e-mail and you never get a reply. I called the Bayonne City Hall and found out that Bayonne does not have rent control laws like Jersey City, Hackensack or anyother City or town in New Jersey. Shiesty! Shiesty! Shady dealers for a management team. You can't believe anything or dollar amount they tell you. Doing business with this new management is like being involved with the 3 card monte guys from 42nd st NYC - nothing they say is never ever what you get. It's all hype and smoke. One quoted fee turns out to be another. Parking was originally quoted as $30/35 then when you sign up they say it went up to $50-60! Waived application fees never materialize. Hidden fees always do. And the rental payment site is a nightmare! Fees pop up without explanations or ridiculous explanations! Police raids with broken doors to boot is not what you expect from a so-called upscale residential apartment living! And the door key system hardly works correctly for the money you're spending. If they would focus more on their residents safety and concerns instead of conjuring more con artist acts of doing business and bookkeeping, maybe residents wouldn't be fleeing to their competitors' apartment complexes for better or transparent management. read more

This is a nice apartment community in a quiet area of Bayonne. I have lived here for a few years and the new management is trying their best with what they have. They delivered new shuttle service, renovated apartments and now I see construction at the pool and it looks beautiful. The club room needs a little work, but I hear that is may be renovated as well. There is a lot of residents that damage the place and management send notices about the damage and its nice to be kept in the loop. The prices are good and its an easy ride on the shuttle to Manhattan. I honestly can't wait to see what this place is like in a year and glad to call Harbor Pointe my home. read more

I am in my 4th year as a resident here. The positive changes since Harbor Pointe took over, along with the new management team, have made it an easy decision to renew. The new security features make you feel safe, the monthly activities offer a variety of fun for all residents and the attention to maintenance and details make it an impressive showcase. The few times that I had to go to management resulted in quick, courteous responses. Not only is the property well maintained, but it is also perfectly situated to access the NJTP, the Holland Tunnel and Rt. 440, which are great time savers for someone like me who travels to NY everyday. The Cruise Port, the magnificent Bayonne Golf Course and the Teardrop Memorial on the peninsula are great neighbors to have, which elevate living here. Most importantly, living in a place that appreciates you and gives your everyday life greater quality is what Harbor Pointe and the staff here does. When you enter the property after a day of stress it's like an oasis of calm on the Hudson Bay. Very welcoming by the grounds, the architecture and the people who manage it all. Beautiful community right by the river. Spring from the leasing office has been so sweet and helpful right from the beginning when I was struggling looking for an apartment. Moving in was a little tricky because I was still trying to figure out how to get from one entrance to my apartment unit. But there's a loading dock in the building that makes the moving way easier. There's an elevator right next to the loading dock entrance. Overall, the community is pretty quiet. The shuttle is extremely helpful. The schedule in the morning is more like every 30 minute rather than every 15 minute but just have to adjust my schedule. It's an easy trip to and from the city but last shuttle time is 9:45 pm so might have to find alternative rides after that time. I did catch the 9:45 pm shuttle back before so the shuttle runs more frequently at night. The driver at that time is very sweet. She waited a few extra minutes past 9:45 pm just in case. read more

Harbor Pointe is a great property with an awesome management staff. Moved here about 5 months ago and so far I can't complaint. The property is awesome, not sure about any negative reviews on here but in all honesty this property is very well managed. Jason Estrella was extremely awesome and professional. He showed us around the property when we first looked here, and sure enough convinced us to move in and it was a great decision. Thank You Jason! The property is also now getting renovated in certain areas and additions have been made. I now see security guards and cameras through-out the property, and any issues are notified through an email. All the amenities are great. The club house is now being renovated, the pool is fantastic, the dog park (primary reason for moving here) is awesome, not to mention they provide you with doggy bags all around the property. They have great events all the time and awesome food trucks a couple of times a week that visit the property frequently. Is quiet and peaceful to just walk around after a long day of work or just relax by the pool or even get a work out in. I also want to mention that the property is very clean despite some of the reviews on here. I'm extremely happy with my decision and even recommended a friend to move into the property as well and he did. (very happy with his decision) Like everything else in life you need to try and see for yourself, but hope this helps anyone looking.....good luck! read more

This is a HORRIBLE place to live. The fire alarms go off constantly and in the middle of the night. The doors leading into the building on 3 sides do not work. There are major thefts, prostitution and drugs in and out of this apartment. It is highly overpriced for what it is. You pay 600.00 a year for amities yet you cant use hardly any of them. The common space is always being reserved for special parties which means you cant go in the club house and use it. People speed I mean fly through there, I have seen a few people almost get hit. The new property management does not care about the residents at all they only care about how much money they can put in their pocket. They have sent emails saying that if you do not get your mail in a timely manner (what is considered timely) they will return it without your knowledge. Last time I checked that is a federal offense. The residents for the most part are somewhat respectable (not the strippers, my child does not need to see you walking around half naked), the management is what is dragging this place down. They have raised the rent and fees up so much it is no longer affordable unless you are a criminal, people with money can afford to live in NY. Save your time and money, its not worth it. read more
