A lot has changed since my review 5 years ago, not long before COVID. This is still my local liquor store go-to. They moved from cellar wine tastings to having a more selective choice of wines and liquor on the main level, increased NY wine options, specialty areas, and usually a tasing or two on Fridays. This wine/liquor store's best attribute is its size and apparent marketing towards those looking for discounts for affordable wines and wines purchased in quantity. So, this place does not, in my opinion, cater to the high brow, esoteric, elite and selective vinophile.or sommelier. What drew me in to this place was the implicit discount prices for reasonable quality wines. In my overall opinion, I encountered average quality wines offered in relatively limited quantities offered at affordable but, not truly discount prices ( maybe for SYR this is a large selection with great prices, for me, it's just average). Specialty wines, such as Port wines, are offered, although, in very limited quantities for those who are not knowledgeable.( No Taylor Fladgate or Grahams??) Overall, this is a place for those with no or low expectations. It would take an enormous amount of effort to find a bargain wine of great quality. If you enjoy reasonably priced wines, you can enjoy the discount offered through purchasing wine by the case. 10% to 20% discounts are offered and would make the prices very good for every day consumption. Thanks to the gentleman who bent over backwards for me yesterday, Monday Nov. 16th, afternoon while I was looking for Whitehaven Saugvinon Blanc. He was very attentive, and when I expressed disappointment (it was a gift), he took me around to try and find it or something else. I really appreciate how nice he was. I wish I'd caught his name. He said he was going to be 46 soon, but anyhow he gave me great customer service, and I wanted to thank him. I'll definitely be back to purchase more wine. read more

Probably my favourite wine shop in the area. Good discounts, good as Liqour Sq plus they have a fine wine section downstairs where you can pick up some really good bargains. read more

The employees are unfriendly cashiers are rude. The pricing is very confusing and I recently bought a buy one get one free and find out you could not mix. I walked in the place and the cashiers just starred at me and did not say hello. They have signs at the entrance that are obnoxious and other liquor stores do not have posted. They have an excellent selection. Buy one case and you get a key tag that gives you 10% off of all bottles. That's like paying for nine nights of good old wine drinking, but having ten actual nights of good old wine drinking to enjoy. read more

Harborview has a better Scotch selection than most stores in the area. It also appears to have a wide variety of other stuff, along with helpful employees and an expanded wine room. read more

Best tequila selection in the area! Great variety! Look behind the counter. Also a nice selection of reasonably priced wines. Loved the 20% discount when I bought a case. I especially appreciate the wines from Portugal I've purchased here. There are a few categories I would have liked more selections, but overall, a great experience and value. read more

This place has a decent selection, but false advertising. This is the second time I went there and tried to buy cases of wine for their "20%" off case discount. I had over $400.00 worth of wine and booze. I get to the register and they ring it up and say my discount is $2.00. I know I bought a lot of wine that was on sale. I also bought 2 cases that were regular priced. They told me that because these were priced so low they could not discount any further. I asked about their advertising and why they would not honor the discount? I was basically told too bad. This happened once before when I went in and bought a full case. I even asked an employee before I put the case in my cart to make sure it would be discounted. I get to the counter and no go on the discount. I bought that case at the time because I needed it for a party and was short on time. Not this time. I told them to keep everything and I would be taking my business elsewhere. They could have cared less. So if you want to go there and try to figure out which wines you can buy and get a discount and which do not, good luck to you. I am done with the place. read more
