We have never been paddle boarding before but have always wanted to try it. Kelly was so kind and patient when we initially inquired about the rental process. When we decided to go ahead and take the plunge and just do it making the appointment was very simple. The website was user friendly and easy to navigate. We showed up for our appointment and she had everything ready to go. She made sure that our life jackets were on properly and did not skip a single step. Her instructions and demonstrations on how to actually use the paddle board were easy to follow and very thorough. She also made sure that we were comfortable with our paddle boards before leaving. Out on the lake we got to see SO much wildlife, it was nothing like being in a motorized boat that's for sure. I have never considered myself athletic by any means and am far from being in shape but thanks to the equipment she provided as well as amazing instructions and answering all of my questions I can say I mastered the paddle board in no time! I was alone in a boat half the size of his fighting a 25# fish when he came towards me to within 50 feet demanding to tell him what depth and color my fish came at before he would turn away. My boat was on autopilot so it wasn't like I was weaving around. He intentionally targeted my space just to be an asshole and thought he was being funny. Don't use him if you're a real sportsman! There are good captains out there that are true sportsmen.

Stayed here for one night during a Northwest Michigan nature getaway. Jan and Jim are both super hip kind folks that gladly take care of your every need or want. Jan was very accommodating with my vegan lifestyle and made me a delicious breakfast. The rooms are all decorated different, with lots of original and traditional Victorian decor. Lots of opportunity to learn about the history of the home, the prior owners, and the town. Plenty of literature. The sunroom is fantastic! There's really so much to say, but I'll leave it at-trust this five star review and book your stay here, ASAP!

For a fifteen dollar donation I got to enjoy two hours of Jim's hospitality, meeting the cats and the talkative parrot Josefina - Jose for short. The collections are really impressive, the architecture is both stunning and cozy. They are very analytical as well and go after the fish in the right temperature and make sure they are using the right color and keep in touch with the other captains on the lake to see what's working. I have been fishing all over the country and this is one of the best equipped boats I've seen. We went out for king Salmon 3 times with these guys and we weren't disappointed. We caught Kings all three trips and they worked so hard with 12-14 poles out trolling at once. The boat deck was very comfortable and of course it had a bathroom on board. The gear, poles, rigs, electronics and downriggers where all top knotch. Kudos to these guys...price was very reasonably priced compared to other charters I've been on. We had a blast and can't wait to get back. He gave me a $50 gift certificate to the microbrewery in town as well. If your in Ludington, please get out and enjoy some fishing with these fine gentlemen!!
