We used their kayaks and paddled around the little island and also across the bay to a small stony beach on a bigger island. We ate seafood almost every day, going to "Jameson Point Lobster" in Friendship or to Rockland to eat. We also cooked in the cabin, and found if we prepared food on the 10" bar we could also look out the window at the water. The people at the cove were all very warm and friendly.

Our first floor room was small but had an en suite bath along with a sitting nook with a lovely view of the harbor. Breakfasts were amazing and just the right way to start the day. We loved the shops in Boothbay better than anything we saw in Bar Harbor. Quality merchandise. Porch was relaxing with its view of the harbor, and we were directed to a lovely shore walking path a few minutes away. Ports of Italy, Harborside 1901, and Harbor Treats are not to be missed. Captain Sawyer's is just a few minutes from the amazing Coastal Maine Botanical Garden.

We were made to feel right at home in the restored historic (1700's era) farmhouse, with its common rooms for reading, visiting, dining, and relaxing downstairs, as well as its five beautifully decorated guest bedrooms upstairs. Shari is an outstanding cook, serving hearty, nutritious, artfully presented breakfasts every morning. She incorporates fresh eggs from her flock of lively hens whose happy clucking can be heard throughout the day. We look forward to our next trip when we can once again savor the scrumptious frittatas, homemade blueberry muffins, blueberry pancakes, and delicious fruit cups at the dining room's table that looks over the sloping backyard fields and the ocean beyond. An Absolute Wedding Treasure…read more When we decided to get married, we wanted to avoid the ridiculously high costs of weddings, and wanted a smaller, "family & close friends only" event, but still wanted a special day, of course. We toyed with the idea of a backyard wedding with "bring food as your gift" on the invite, ditching all the little expensive extras, but it wasn't coming together, especially when Mom fell sick. How lucky we were that a relative suggested the Mill Pond Inn, which was three houses down the street from their home in Nobleboro. It's a cliche, but The Mill Pond Inn is indeed a treasure. Bobby and Sherry are fantastic. We visited the place the summer before our wedding. A few months later, when we first talked with Bobby about our wedding schedule, he said "nah, you don't wanna do that" to a few of our ideas, and, as we were looking at each other during the phone call and realizing he was right, we decided to let him and Sherry run the show. What an *absolute* *relief*! We didn't have all the hassles that other folks warned us about when planning weddings. It was all just handled, and handled well. The food was great (we picked the menu, Bobby and Sherry did the rest . . . and we highly recommend bringing in their neighbors, Leigh and Sharon, who did a pre-ceremony oyster bar with local oysters for the guests as they arrived). Bobby and Sherry dealt with everything but the flowers (and there was a local florist that handled that) and music (we chose a playlist that we played over their sound system). There was *none* of the pre-wedding stress that we'd heard about from so many people. That itself was worth every penny! Speaking of which, the budget Bobby proposed was more than workable (yet another relief). All told the cost was well *under* what we'd budgeted. All we had to do was get invites out (tell your guests to bring swimwear -- the kids and a few adults had an absolute ball jumping into the pond and swimming during the meal and on into the afternoon). Part of the deal was that you had to rent out the entire place, but it was no problem filling the rooms with out of town relatives, and we in fact ended up reserving rooms in one of the homes across the road, which was right on the lake, which gave an added bonus of having lake access for a couple of days. Bobby and Sherry even accommodated Mom, who was in a wheelchair, by letting us bring and set up a portable AC in the front room -- she was very concerned about overheating in her condition, and this made her feel much safer. The day could not have been more magical. It was hot, but they knew where the shady spots were, and we set up so that the chairs and the gathering were in the shade when is was time for the ceremony. The setting was beautiful, and the weather cooperated (though Bobby had contingency plans in case of rain). We give Mill Pond Inn our highest recommendation -- we've given them permission to use our wedding photos, and we gave them our number if you want to hear it directly from us! David & Natalie

Her booking confirmation email is very helpful to plan your day - most notable check-in and breakfast information! There is a wonderful side parking lot to accommodate several guest cars - it might be a smidgen tight for big vehicles like trucks but there is also street parking nearby! Jackie helped us to our room during check in and gave some helpful tips and requests to make our stay so comfy. The Garden room was beautifully decorated and including a relaxing full sized tub. Although rainy during our visit, it is closest to the outdoor patio space to enjoy! After sharing about the room, Jackie gave us some amazing recommendations for restaurants and things to do that we very much used throughout our time in the greater Bath area! Jackie's breakfast was hearty, delicious, and locally sourced - the breakfast frittata and potatoes were so yummy! She respectfully tries to seat groups throughout the morning so that no one is crowded - allowing you to meet fellow travelers or keep to yourself as fits your morning preferences. She also gave us more suggestions for our 2nd day of adventures and again they did not disappoint! She left us a very yummy takeaway breakfast for our last morning as sadly we had to depart for our flight before breakfast. At every turn, Jackie and the Inn at Bath made for such a memorable experience. We would love to come back someday and we recommend it so much!

SF is a great, little campground. I truly believe that the greatness of the campground starts…read morewith its five miles per hour speed limit. Since guests were asked to respect the speed limit, it afforded people the opportunity to slow down in the campground, and be respectful of other guests. It has to start somewhere. Our site was next to the bathrooms which were very well kept. The trash was never overflowing, the toilets were clean, and the showers were in a decent state. I also enjoyed the constant music which flowed pleasantly into the bathrooms as well. I enjoyed the access to the little store as well. It had most, if not all of one's camping needs provided. Access to ice, firewood, and s'mores supplies, proved quite convenient. One evening, a woman who ran the campground, came over from her camper to take care of me in the store. She did so quite happily, and we shared a few laughs. In all, SF is in a good location, it had all of the necessary amenities, and was well kept. I'd stay again, but I might be getting too old to sleep on an air mattress in a tent. Its location to Camden, Freeport, Boothbay, and obviously Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, were advantageous too. Apparently that site was supposed to be chained off & not reserved, & we were woken up to a bit of the older man's temper, as he thought we took the chain down to enter. Later on, after we decided to just leave & was packing up, he realized the construction crew had failed to replace the chain, thus leaving us to think it was available. He came & apologized, & let us stay on the site, just asked us to move the car to avoid a flat tire, which we actually ended up in the place he asked us to park. We rated 4 stars for the inappropriate assumption & temper but aside from that, they had showers (which you need quarters for by the way), & all the amenities you might expect, & the mama of the property was an absolute sweetheart but we didn't get to actually meet her, unfortunately. There's also a general store with everything's out might need & grocery store with all food pickin' needs just about 5-10 minutes down the road from the entrance. It's also within walking distance to the beach (that's not pet friendly btw) but pets are welcome within a reasonable driving distance to other parts of the beach.

We got to stay in what we were told was the coveted cabin; a cabin that was built from 1 pine tree! Wow! The grounds are spread out and situated in a lovely wooded area. Simple rustic cabins with all the basics needed for a most comfortable stay. Many have fireplaces and wood is provided. Outdoor grill and table. The only downside of the 1pine cabin was the noise heard from the nearby highway, although that pretty much ceased after 12 a.m. We very much enjoyed our stay and learning the history of this establishment. A little off the beaten path which happens to be our preference, yet so convenient to the Freeport hub of activities (and also close to Brunswick and other towns). Staff was friendly and inviting and the price cannot be beat. We plan to stay again and would highly recommend.
