It's continued to get worse during and since the pandemic and they can't seem to keep the place clean now. My mom's apartment is filthy every time I go in to see her and I'm the one that ends up having to clean it. It's one of the highest priced Retirement Communities in the Williamsburg area and they should be ashamed of the service you get for the prices you pay.

Shawn (Director) put my grandmother at ease by telling her that she had 30 days to change her mind. After that, she went ahead and moved in. I loved this place for her. It's not that diverse, but the people are nice for the most part. My grandmother just didn't like it. She didn't really give it a chance because at week 2, she was ready to leave. I was sad about it, but I couldn't force her to stay. Shawn understood and we moved her out. The only issue I had was after we moved her out, they took $3000+ out of her account that they weren't supposed to. That caused an issue with her bills & I brought that to Shawn's attention immediately. She apologized & said she'd send a paper check. It's costs A LOT to live here, but they have independent living and assisted living available. They are clean, they have activities, they have 1 meal daily included in the monthly rent, and it's a the staff is friendly for the most part. I wish she would've stayed.

Highly effective nursing and rehabilitation center…read more Rehabilitation staff are amazing. Most nursing staff are highly responsive to patient needs. 95% of the staff are overtly proud of their workplace and go out of their ways to serve the patients, residents, and families. There's always that 5% that slip between the cracks. Facility is always immaculate. Floors shine and there's rarely a hint of unpleasant odor. Staff greet family at the door with a smile. Patients and residents move about the facility comfortably and always seem to be striving to rehabilitate. Most impressive is the rehabilitation team. The Rehab Supervisor runs a tight ship, and proof of her efforts are in the performance of the residents. My mom entered the facility in a state of panic and desperation and now she's moving about the facility and participating in all activities. The Rehab Supervisor Marq. corresponds with family by email keeping us 100% updated on my mom's progress. The last step in the process will be coordinating my mom's move Fromm Sentara Nursing Portsmouth to her new assisted living home. I will revisit and update this review on that day.

They'll communicate when they want money. The place has nickel and dime my mom. $35 for shampoo. $80 a month for laundry. What drove me to vacate was the sales lady didn't tell me that they don't have Medicaid long term care bed for mom when I asked. She said they'll discuss it later, which is when I told them my mom will be low on funds and can't stay there because I was led to believe in the spend down for Medicaid Long term care. Also, they wanted to use my mom's photo for their marketing. This place cares for you if you can afford it.
