I would not recommend staying at this house, she is very disrespectful to her tenants especially when they are 20-30s aged. She has entered rooms without asking, she set up baby monitors that record audio and visual in public spaces, calls/texts frequently with passive aggressive messages for example she called me on my way back from work to say that my (115lbs) footsteps were too loud on the baby monitors, she eliminated use of the kitchen for everyone in the house halfway through my stay, she refused to return my security deposit, she drinks/eats people's food/beverages, and many other things. Meanwhile many of the rooms were not up to standard, I was on the second floor and when people in the third floor would shower it would rain down in my bathroom from the light. Other rooms suffered water damage/were leaking. Please do not stay in this house!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights and we loved it. It's small-only 3 available bedrooms, in a beautiful house that Lisa and her husband live in. We stayed in the 'Ocean Air Suite.' The rooftop patio wasn't open, but it was a beautiful room, and was nice to have our own bathroom. They don't offer a full breakfast, but they have coffee and tea and muffins in one of the rooms downstairs. Lisa is friendly, hilarious, and very helpful with suggestions/information on what to do in Gloucester, but still gives you enough space to do your own thing. It's about a 15 min. walk to downtown/Main St, and it's a nice walk along the water (lined with millions of American flags, which is pretty hilarious; or maybe pretty and hilarious). It is right along whatever that main road is, which has pretty heavy traffic in the summer (lots of loud motorcycles), so it was a bit loud at times-though we had our windows open the whole time to get the full 'ocean air' effect.

The knock is that we stayed four more nights. That part was 2-stars. The reason -- motel rooms were way more expensive than the meager amenities and spartan conditions we experienced. Some wall outlets work. Shower is good. If it were $150/night less costly it would have been a good deal. Definitely won't stay there again. Definitely will attend another wedding there.

This inn is a photographer's paradise whose main features are the massive picture windows in the rooms combined with the inn's position overlooking an expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. On a clear morning in the back yard of the inn (house rule: stay off the rocks!) I have caught some of the most beautiful Atlantic sunrises of my photography career. Rooms are very well maintained with a very nice gilded age air. Inn keeper Randy is very helpful and thorough and explains things clearly and is very accommodating. Mind you this not a traditional bed and breakfast, it has no expansive common areas or on-site kitchen. Breakfast is provided off site via voucher at another very nice location with everything you may want or need. If you seek a peaceful out of the hustle location with opportunity for peaceful and serene Atlantic Ocean views Quarterdeck Inn by the Sea is practically unbeatable. Unbelievable views, quaint accommodations and perfect location to the center of town! I would highly recommend a stay here! Also, Chris is a Rock Star!! We slept in the pebble beach room. What a view!!! Nice sunset, looking over the ocean. In the morning they prepare a nice breakfast with fresh fruit, greek yoghurt, cake, bread and eggs, and pancakes. Coffee is per machine which gives everybody a wide variety of flavors and let you decide how strong you'd like your coffee. Then when you're set and prepared for breakfast you can sit outside on the porch (I love porches!!!) or in the garden at the pond. Then again start enjoying. The sunrise, the nice environment and stroll a bit up and down the street afterwards... It's so lovely here. The room itself was nice and comfortable but still a star is missing as we had to shower in the bathtub. Normally that's not a big problem, but as we sere standing in the tub under the roof you have to lean sideways not to bump your head and there is no place to put the shower head. So have to keep it in your hands. So while your standing in the tub, holding the shower head, leaning sideways you also have to wash yourself. I think this is a big minus for everybody taller then 5 ft ;)

When they say the best breakfast in Gloucester, it's not an exaggeration! The couple that owns the Inn/Cafe are very hospitable and welcoming people. I've been visiting for the past 15+ years and every stay and meal has always been exceptional. Additionally, the staff they hire and employ is equally committed. It is truly a five-star operation. We were recently up in the area visiting Gloucester and Rockport. As always, one of those mornings meant we had to stop at Atlantis Oceanfront Cafe! It is a MUST. I almost hate letting this gem/secret out. It is the best place for breakfast with the very best view. It is post-card perfect. Your window table overlooks the rocks+water and you can visually see and hear the waves crashing against the rocks. It doesn't get much more picturesque or scenic than that! While the menu has changed a bit since my last visit, the quality has not. The breakfast portions are very generous and everything is of the highest quality. Our favorite is the eggs Benedict. Those perfectly poached eggs resting on top of those bakery-quality English muffins. The tender Canadian bacon. The perfect amount of creamy, perfectly seasoned hollandaise sauce. The side of tender and perfectly seasoned breakfast potatoes. It doesn't get any better than that in my book! Another favorite of mine is their GIANT Fresh Blueberry Pancakes. They remind me greatly of every childhood trip to the Atlantis and Gloucester. I've always told my family if I had to have one last breakfast, let's hope Atlantis Cafe is in season! I am not joking either! Service is always top priority. Friendly and expeditious. The kitchen is open to the dining room and their culinary takes true pride in every plate they put out. If you're looking for the best breakfast with the best view in Gloucester, Atlantis Oceanfront is the place. I did notice the secret has gotten out as of late! We did have a short 15-minute wait this last visit. Parking can also be challenging given the lot size and guest/staff vehicles parked for the Inn. The patience is worth the reward! They pulled some tables and chairs together to fit us all in a row. The setting and ambiance is very diner like with the address of the great ocean view. The menu was only one page but had all the essentials for a great breakfast. The waitress was quick off the mark to grab our drink orders. The coffee nice a hot, good cup of joe. 5/5 Fish cakes and eggs - I wanted to try something unique and they had this spectacular dish on menu. The fish cakes contained fresh chunks of fish and was seasoned just right. It wasn't too salty so went well with the spinach. The home fries were good and eggs over easy were done perfectly. The soft egg yolk broke and oozed just fine over the fish cakes. Definitely will come back again for breakfast when in the area.
