Had a lovely stay. Room was clean and good sized. The king bed was comfortable while the deck and ocean sounds were also very relaxing. The desk folks were helpful and pleasant. Housekeeping was immaculate and responsive. This is a location central to everything: stores, restaurants, breakfast places, and, of course, Motif #1. Only negative was that the Hideaway opened the day we were leaving so we weren't able to avail ourselves of that during our stay. Otherwise, gotta rate this place an eleven out of ten! Best weekend getaway! Olivia and others made check in seamless. I loved that the office checked in with us via text to see if we needed anything or wanted housekeeping. Everyone we spoke to was really nice. The hotel was spotless and had all the amenities we needed for our weekend. And the view was just spectacular; we could have stayed on the deck all day. I booked last minute for my birthday turnup!! The town is super super cute and cozy. Each room comes with a parking spot. Check in was seamless, Krystle greeted me with a big hello, and I can see her smile behind the mask. The lobby is spotless and they take COVID very seriously. Which I appreciate. I booked 2 rooms and requested adjoining rooms. Krystal called me to let me know she can upgrade me to a king which is next to the doubles. The rooms are clean, bathroom was clean, smelled very clean. The Acs were on when we entered. Which was AMAZING. We planned for Good Harbor Beach and it's 5 min drive not even. We had dinner in town. I have to say the best part was at check out, when Krystle took the time to ask how everything was and we shared a moment that defined my whole experience. The owners are delightful upon check in and walk you to your room and are very helpful with dining ideas etc. I stayed in the Queen sized bedroom. I The room was very clean and efficient for my stay, yet a bit small. The beds could use some newer more comfortable mattresses. The view from our waterfront room, is unmatched and we slept with the windows open and the breeze from the ocean felt amazing, along with the sounds of water hitting the rocks. read more

First of all, this couldn't be in a more perfect location. The view from the balcony is stunning and the proximity to shopping, views, and great food are incomparable. While the rates were pricey due to the busy time we visited, it was more than worth it. I would absolutely recommend staying here. I love how flexible they are with self check-in. read more

What a view! The motel sits atop a rocky coast at the end of a peninsula. Everything Rockport has to offer is in walking distance, great restaurants, shopping and galleries. The motel is a gem, could be the best kept secret in Rockport. The staff are super friendly and helpful. It is small but welcoming. The rooms were immaculate and recently renovated. We stayed on the second floor which I would recommend as this area can get extremely busy. We can't wait to return. read more

Bears. That's right. I said bears. You know what else? Motor lodge. Bears and Motor lodge. Those aren't two things you think about when you think about hotels. I mean, unless you want to live with a bear. Maybe you never really grew out of the Bernstein Bears and always wanted to live with a bear family. Or maybe Goldilocks was a tad more autobiographical than most people care to admit. However, Bears and lodging make sense when you're talking about the Bearskin Motor Lodge though there was no bear skin in my room. Bearskin is located right on the water at the tip of Bearskin neck. You get free parking for hotel guests, a beautiful room overlooking Rockport harbor. At around 9 o'clock, the neck empties out and you will be covered in silence. In face, the silence is so loud, you might not be able to sleep because of it. Luckily the sound of the ocean breaking on the rocks below your window helps to deafen the silence but it can still be pretty oppressive. The owner is great, friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. There are no refrigerators or hair dryers in the room. The TV isn't large but they do have cable. There isn't an AC in the room either. If you're use to a Hilton, then this will be roughing it for you. And if staying here is considering "roughing it", then you need to get out more. The Bearskin Motor Lodge is comfortable and perfect for a romantic getaway. It's open from the beginning of May through the beginning of November. read more

Amazingly perfect hotel. We went to sleep with waves crashing on the rocky shore and light fluttering of curtains from the salty fresh breeze. The bathroom had a mini tub and the staff were committed to our comfort. The small TV was nonintrustive, but available if we needed it. It was a great place to focus on each other rather than unknown or unexpected surprises or intrusions. Rockport is a lovely seaside town and this place is right in town on the water overlooking the rocky coast. Beautiful views! My husband and I watched the tide come in sitting on our balcony. The sound of the ocean lulled us to sleep at night. Very friendly, helpful couple who run the place. My earring was accidentally dropped down the drain and the owners were able to extract it without a problem! Many thanks to them!! Rooms are quaint, clean, and very comfortable. Don't know what was more charming... the view, the inn keepers/owners or the little town. Amazing stay, amazing sunset view amazing clean and quiet room. Wouldn't change a thing other than the length of our stay. We definitely could have stayed longer. We stayed in the petite room bc that's all that was left. It really was intended for 1-2 people but they were gracious enough to let us squeeze in our 10-year old. It was tight w a roller bed but it all worked. They even lent us wine glasses n a bottle opener to drink our wine on the porch as the sun set. read more

Here's the secret.. the place looks from the front lake a basic motor lodge, but once you're in the room and you walk to the back porch, you have an outstanding view of the ocean in Rockport. The owners of Bearskin Neck Lodge are extremely friendly and accommodating. I believe they live right next to the lodge. Our room was very comfortable and overlooked the cove. All of the shops and restaurants in Rockport are a very easy walk from the lodge. You go right by "Motif #1" to/from the lodge. The road along Bearskin Neck is a bit small, but don't worry, your vehicle will fit through. read more

At least they were still open this late in the season. Great location if you plan on walking around town. Ok, now the negative stuff: my husband and I barely got any sleep. The bed was awful! Lumpy, old, caused back, leg and shoulder pain. The accommodations in general were in need of repair. There was a split in the wood of the front door. I had a hard time closing the ocean-side door. I couldn't open the screen door fully and almost fell on the one step trying to get out the door. I've had better nights at Motel 6! read more

Great view from all rooms. Don't expect amenities. No phone, microwave, refrigerator. But a wonderful host and it is right in Rockport. Walk out your door and the shops are all right there. This place is wonderful. Rented two rooms for two nights, for a quick family vacation. Grandparent and kids all enjoyed being able to walk everywhere given the location, and the view from the back deck, and the sound of the ocean at night, were spectacular. It was our first time staying at the Bearskin neck motor lodge in Rockport and we must say we were very impressed. The lodge is located right on the ocean, the porch and deck area allows for beautiful views of the harbor area, and it was great at night to listen to the ocean waves crashing....it was very peaceful! The location is also ideal because it's right on Bearskin Neck road and since you have your own parking spot, you don't have to worry about parking in the area. It was very convenient! The owners and Zoey were great and very welcoming to us! You can tell they really cared about the place and making sure your stay was great! Everything was top notch!
