I remedied this by ordering delivery, meanwhile I live 30 minutes from there, how great is delivery! I ordered the Cevapi 1lb, comes with Lepinja (Serbian Flatbread) that was fresh, soft and great. The Cevepi were grilled to perfect, wish I had requested onions to go with them, now I know. It's always a good idea to order food at this spot. Their food is really delicious and I must say I really love its authentic cuisine. Last time I ordered sandwich with sausage and French fries and it was worth my money. French fries were crispy and tasty and not burnt or undercooked like it sometimes might happen with me. Their sausages are rich on flavor and tender and definitely will satisfy anyone taste. And I'm also pleased with their customer service and attitude. I was greeted well and it didn't take much time to get my food ready especially when you were quite busy. Staff knows their stuff and does everything quickly and with a professional attitude. And I was pleasantly surprised they were strictly followed all quarantine guidelines and took all necessary measures to prevent from spreading COVID-2019. Nice place to visit. It might not look like much from the outside but it's definitely worth visiting. Last week I stopped by and ordered smoked polish sausage and french fries for myself and it was delicious. It smelled so good and flavor was amazing. Customer service was nice as well. Man working on counter suggested me a lot of stuff to pick but I was determined to try polish sausage and I wasn't wrong with that. I also shared my food with a friend of mine and he was pleasantly surprised. If course it's not my last visit definitely gonna hit the spot one more time in near future and It would be great to get an opportunity to dine in with my close friends. Had an excellent experience trying serbian food for the first time. Food was great, and the staff was friendly.

Wow, this place was a hidden gem. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but they have quite a variety of smoked meats and sausages (Serbian, Polish, Italian), plus over a dozen menu options if you choose to "dine in". They have a very clean small dining area with checkered tablecloths and maybe 3-4 tables. There was a reach in cooler with vacuum sealed packs of sausage, meats, and cheeses. At the deli counter there was a a variety of dried sausage, fresh sausage, cheeses, pastries, and prepared foods like stuffed peppers, stuffed cabbage, potato pancakes, and marinated red peppers. Not a huge selection, but modest and high quality. A small heated case held 3 varieties of burek pastry, meat, cheese, and spinach filled. A frozen case had a few varieties of homemade pierogis and kajmak. There was a small shelf of dry goods with pickles, chocolate, and a few other items, maybe a couple dozen. Service was friendly and helpful, the lady working the counter was nice and offered recommendations and substitutions for things I asked about. I found this place on DoorDash in my search for Macedonian cuisine. We ordered some kebapi and a pleskavica over the phone and went to pick them up. The service was quick and smooth, with reasonable price. While the food was very authentic, the meat was overdone -- certain bites tasted like charcoal. The lepinji were great. They seemed to offer a variety of prepackaged products for purchase in addition to what's on the menu, so I will consider visiting again after the pandemic. read more

Saw the feature on Chicago's Best so stopped by a few weeks ago. Pretty disappointed with the retail storefront since there was very little product in the deli case. The lone girl working spoke very little English so I couldn't figure out what to order. Instead I picked up a couple shrink wrapped sausage packages from the refrigerator. That strong unpleasant smell is called old-school production. You can't get any fresher than smoked-on-site. I've been going there for years 'cuz my uncle was a great Slovak butcher and he's too old to case his own 'basi's now so this is the next best thing I can serve for our holidays... With all the consolidated mega-packers and industrialized plants we are very fortunate to have this joint still around! the woman behind counter said she had no cooked meals and no list of cooked food. The place looked less than 1/4 full with any sausages, looks abandoned even though painted on front window says now serving hot lunch. left empty handed. Talked to CB they said they had wonderful food. I called Harczak's back 7/23/18 at 11:55 and same woman said not serving hot lunch just a couple of cold sandwiches I asked when do you stop serving lunch she responded no lunches no lunches. I asked to speak to manager she said Alex would be in at 4. Our friends and family LOVE this place! The best sausages around! We usually call ahead for a mixed meat platter that the will cook for you.
