A while back someone posted in a FB foodie form wondering why people had not gone to a particular restaurant. Their complaint was that there were no pictures or posts about this restaurant. I must admit they were correct, and I set out to do something about it. So yesterday afternoon I got on my jalopy, and I drove over to a café they called Hard Core! When I got there I ordered up a nice cold Dunkel and their version of the club sandwich. You see they take three slices of wheat bread and toast them to perfection and then they put onto that bread a good smear of mayo and on top of that mayo they put down some lettuce, cheese, turkey, and add the second slice and on that second slice they put a little more cheese tomato ham and bacon put the lid on it, drive a stake through its heart and cut it in half. Holy moly! This is where human endurance is tested for you see that sandwich sits well over 3 1/2" high! Even after attempting to squeeze it together, unless you have a lower jaw that you can unhinge, you cannot wrap your mouth around it. And when you do as I did and take a bite out of the bottom half and then a bite out of the top half, so you can get all of the flavors, I was amazed at how incredibly delicious and fresh this sandwich was. This is an incredible sandwich! Well done Hard Core Café Well done indeed! It's a Thursday afternoon and I'm filling my belly with a fantastic club sandwich in Gladstone!!

After I'd already eaten a couple.

We were house-sitting for friends nearby and saw some bikers at this spot, decided to stop in. The "cafe" is next to a custom cycle shop, hence the motorcycle theme. We liked it! It was clean, comfortable, and the bar food was good nuff for bar food. We had a pizza and mozzarella sticks. A gal across from me had a salad that looked pretty impressive. The waitress did a great job making sure everyone was happy and changed the TV to a ballgame for us. We'd definitely stop back by.

Well it's a NEIGHBORHOOD BAR FOR ONE THING, beer was good and cold. Haven't tried the food yet but I'm sure we'll be back. Nice atmosphere.

If you don't know the owner or bartender, don't expect any service. Food was mediocre and I walked to the bar for all our drinks

What really stood out right away was the service. The lady taking our orders was incredibly nice and personable, and she actually took the time to walk us through the menu to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. I went with the #5, which is their version of a Sicilian Muffuletta. It was phenomenal. It's stacked with mortadella, salami, provolone, ham, and Swiss cheese, topped perfectly with a red wine vinaigrette chopped olive salad, all sitting on a beautifully toasted seeded loaf. One of my friends ordered the #20 Reuben, and it was a masterpiece. We're talking melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu corned beef, legit sauerkraut from Brooklyn, house-made Russian dressing, and melty Swiss, all piled high between two buttery, toasted slices of marble rye bread. Naturally, I also grabbed a couple of their homemade chocolate chip cookies, and we got a raspberry and blueberry tiramisu that was absolutely terrific. You just can't leave a place like this without hitting the dessert menu! I consider myself very lucky to have experienced this spot. Honestly, if I lived in the area, I'd probably gain 50 lbs--and it would be worth every single ounce!

Since then they've expanded with several locations and I end up going to closer locations. But recently the monthly special was out at my normal Longboards but this location had it, so I ended up back in the old stomping grounds. I ordered online with no issues. They have a lot of parking. The building is pretty good sized, they basically have two rooms, one is just seating. Hawaiian vibes. Service is always friendly. I had a brief wait but my food was super fresh so I didn't mind. On my most recent visit I tried the monthly special, which was the Shaka surf and turf wrap. It was large and I had enough for two meals. I liked the tempura shrimp and the noodles. The steak had good flavor. I really like the originality of the monthly specials and tend to gravitate towards those over the regular menu but everything I've tried has been good. Check out their social media to find out more about their specials. I love that they offer hummus as a side and I always get it. They also have chips and some soft drinks. They do special collab kombuchas that I occasionally get and have liked too. Definitely check them out if you're in the area.

I called to check if the s'mores wrap were available since they were out on Doordash and they were quick to confirm it was, so good staff. I can't speak for the in-store vibes since I got takeout, but from the website I did enjoy their fun marketing. I got the cabin chicken wrap, cabo steak wrap, and s'mores wrap. To start, the savory longboard wraps were fantastic and creamy without taking away from the salty and juiciness of the meat. The s'mores was a disappointment - I could barely see the marshmallows. Either add more or use dandies marshmallows instead please. Overall good experience and I would order their savory dishes again.

Our new favorite BBQ!…read more I noticed Off The Hook as we were driving home one day from an errand on North Oak Trafficway. The exterior looked inviting and the parking lot seemed adequately busy, so I noted to my husband that we would have to check it out soon. Several days later we brought our infant and a friend and were warmly greeted by staff who explained the ordering process and instantly made us feel welcomed. We didn't have to wait for seating but it's was nice to see a local business like this pretty busy with patrons. We had a hard time figuring out what we wanted (it honestly all looked good) but decided on brisket nachos, a pulled pork loaded potato and burnt ends with fries and baked beans. When I say everything we ate was phenomenal I mean it rivaled a lot of the major local spots that people flock to in KC for BBQ. I also loved the sauces and did feel the regular/spicy had enough of a variation to appeal to differing tastebuds (I'm a spicy fan and while it wasn't the hottest I've had it had some bite.) Despite some other reviews on here we felt the price was a great value - especially on the nachos and potato - for the amount of BBQ/food. The Mac and cheese we ordered for our daughter was also some of the best we've had out of the house and as a Texan I loved the flavor of the queso on the nachos. We have since returned many times and the service and food have been consistently good. We have brought friends and family each time who similarly rave about the food and good people serving it - and many have returned on their own without us. We also recently took the chance to try their (weekday morning) breakfast burritos after salivating over them on the menu...WOW is all I can say. Worth every penny - huge and had tons of flavor. My dad is quite the foodie and could not stop raving about them. I hope this business continues to have lots of success/growth and that they continue serving up good food here in the northland (and beyond, if they please.) Such a wonderful local spot!

It is in a small corner of North Kansas City and looks like a simple little supermarket with an Italian deli inside but the food here is really outstanding!!! They sell authentic Italian food like Italian sandwiches, pizzas, strombolis and moreeee. It was 100% worth the drive from South Overland Park and I am already thinking when I can go again. We went for lunch and ordered the Italian beef sandwich and the Angry Capone pizza. Both were really good and we did not expect it to be this tasty. The Italian beef was cooked perfectly and was tender at every bite with the right amount of cheese and spicy peppers. The pizza was even better!! It had a nice crispy base and was full of good toppings like Italian beef, smashed meatballs, pepperoni, lots of cheese and spicy peppers. I love spicy food so I really enjoyed it. Everything was hot, cheesy, a little spicy and very flavorful. If I have to choose between the two , I would pick the pizza over the sandwich. The supermarket part is also very well kept and offers wide variety of options to buy ranging from groceries to fresh flowers/herbs . Along with the Deli, they also sell homemade barbecue slabs, burnt ends, local Amish food, frozen pizzas, desserts like chocolate cake and vanilla cake, and also dishes like meatballs spaghetti, pasta and many many more fresh frozen grab and go dishes. There are only two tables outside so it is a small and simple set up. I enjoyed my time here and I think you will too 5/5!

They have a walk up window located inside The Commons. You just order at the window and they send you a text when it's ready to be picked up. It's a classic club sandwich-turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a chipotle mayo. I like to also add smoked Gouda because cheese improves everything imho. They also offer vegetarian options, hot sandwiches, chips, and cookies. I've honestly loved everything I've eaten from them over the years so you really can't go wrong. The options this place offers is appetizing. I really wanted 3 different sandwiches and finally settled on the Wagyu Nebraskan. The Dutch crunch bread is amazing! Now, this kind of bread is not for those with sensitive palates, meaning you might find it difficult to eat the crunchy top of the bread. You know, like when you eat dry crunchy cereal. But if you can take smaller bites, it's not as difficult to eat and it's so tasty! I'm a big fan. The meat was plentiful, the cheese was good, and the sauce was delicious. I enjoyed the sauerkraut as well. The sandwich just works really well together. I got a churro cookie and wow, that thing was amazing. I enjoyed every single bite and crumb of that big chewy delicious cookie. I need more cookie. And more sandwich. This place is yummy. And the location is just FUN!
