I have eaten at the other location a few times. I've loved the sandwiches. I didn't realize this location existed until we ordered from them at my office. We have now ordered from them several times and I've become addicted to their sandwiches even more. The delivery is great and it's usually pretty quick. I love that there is a second Bay Boys location that is close to me. I love their sandwiches and being in a fun spot in NKC just means I get to eat more of them. They have a walk up window located inside The Commons. You just order at the window and they send you a text when it's ready to be picked up. Service has always been friendly and professional and I've never experienced a problem. The bread is unique. It's a Dutch crunch so it has a nice crunchy texture on top but the bread itself has a nice chew and holds up to whatever toppings you like. I personally favor the Crown Town club. It's a classic club sandwich-turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a chipotle mayo. I like to also add smoked Gouda because cheese improves everything imho. They also offer vegetarian options, hot sandwiches, chips, and cookies. I've honestly loved everything I've eaten from them over the years so you really can't go wrong. What a fun place with excellent food! The cashier was very friendly and efficient. It was a busy Sunday early afternoon when I visited. The cashier handled the crowd like a champ. The options this place offers is appetizing. I really wanted 3 different sandwiches and finally settled on the Wagyu Nebraskan. The Dutch crunch bread is amazing! Now, this kind of bread is not for those with sensitive palates, meaning you might find it difficult to eat the crunchy top of the bread. You know, like when you eat dry crunchy cereal. But if you can take smaller bites, it's not as difficult to eat and it's so tasty! I'm a big fan. The meat was plentiful, the cheese was good, and the sauce was delicious. I enjoyed the sauerkraut as well. The sandwich just works really well together. I got a churro cookie and wow, that thing was amazing. I enjoyed every single bite and crumb of that big chewy delicious cookie. I need more cookie. And more sandwich. This place is yummy. And the location is just FUN! read more

Finally made it over to Bay Boy in North Kansas City inside the Commons and yeah... I get why people keep talking about it. It's a walk-up window, super lowkey, but the food is not playing. I got a turkey sandwich with gouda and peppers, added blueberry jam, and grabbed a bag of chips on the side. The bread is really what sets it off. Crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle, and it actually holds everything together. The turkey and gouda were solid, peppers gave it a little bite, and that blueberry jam added just enough sweetness to balance everything out without being weird about it. I paused after the first bite because it caught me off guard in a good way. Finished the whole thing, chips and all. Simple setup, really good food, and I'll absolutely be back. read more

Bay Boy is THAT Boy! I'm thrilled to have another location of Bay Boy in the Northland, which is such an up and coming neighborhood. This Bay Boy is a small window located inside The Commons which is connected to Cinderblock Brewery but, don't be fooled by its small stature it still carries the full menu of the West Plaza location. The one thing it boasts is you can grab a brew from with The Commons bar or from Cinderblock while your sandwich is crafted. And don't fret because these sandwiches are well worth any wait they may take! What makes Bay Boy utterly unforgettable is the Dutch crunch bread. This unique crackly slightly crunchy but still, oh so pillowy soft bread is the perfect vessel to hold all the fillings of any of the sandwiches on the extensive menu. My number one recommendation sadly is not always on the menu but if you catch it you better order it! It is called The Blue Blaze and it consists of juicy white meat turkey, peppery arugula, melty mild white cheddar and locally sourced spicy blueberry jam. It's the perfect combination of sweet and savory with a kick. Another winner is the Wagyu Nebraskan if you want a bougie take on a Rueben. The Wagyu corned beef is locally sourced and is melt in your mouth paired with a slightly sweet kraut, nutty Swiss cheese and the tangy thousand island this sandwich is an elevated take on a classic. Another winner, well let's just face it any sandwich at Bay Boy is a winner winner chicken dinner (in the words of the iconic Guy Fieri), but let's focus on another rift of a classic sandwich the El Jefe. This is Bay Boy's take on a Cubano but unlike its predecessor the bread isn't flat or pressed it's on a Dutch crunch roll like every sandwich on the menu. The mojo pork is buttery and fatty- in a good way- making the meat so moist that combined with salty ham, melted Swiss and zingy briny pickles makes for a killer combination. Don't forget the mustard! And how Bay Boy makes it there own is with an addition of a zesty vibrant red pepper sauce. You can't help but to love El Jefe. I could go on and on about how each sandwich is unparalleled but, I'll just bore you with one more...The Bay Boy, I couldn't cover Bay Boy's without mentioning the sandwich that the restaurant was named after (or was it the other way around) anyways it doesn't matter. The Bay Boy is a cold sandwich (unlike the other ones I mentioned which are all toasty) which may sound simple but, the medley of flavors is paired down perfection. No pile of meats just stand alone Soppressata which shouldn't need any introduction because it's the superior salami. This sandwich gets sauced down with not one, not two but four sauces that make the sandwich anything but dry. Classic mayo and mustard are alongside a creamy pungent garlic sauce and a red pepper sauce, which is a mix of cherry and banana peppers. Bay Boy has always been in my top tier for sandwich shops in KC. I'm so pleased to have them open inside of The Commons (Cinder Block) in NKC. Parking at the original West Plaza was always a hassle, so not only is it more convenient to park, it's much closer to home and work. I normally get the El Jefe or something off their specials menu, but today I went with The Bandit and I probably am going to be stuck on that one for the next few visits. Top tier roast beef with onions, smoked cheddar, raspberry jam and horseradish all resting on their famous Dutch Crunch bread. As the menu says, "weird, but works". Thank You Cinder Block for bringing Bay Boy north of the river! A great partnership that I will be supporting for food, drinks and fun. read more

I didn't know what to think about this place before I went- I had heard it was great but didn't know how I felt about the crunchy bread. So glad I tried it though because it was so delicious. When I went the staff was so friendly and very personable. The environment is very fun and laid back. They have a variety of seating options and because of that, it feels very homy and comfortable. I thought the sandwich was excellent- a huge portion for the price and so worth it. I took left overs home but it was gone pretty quickly! I was excited to try Bay Boy's because they offer gluten free buns. I usually keep my expectations low, but was beyond pleasantly surprised. I had the club on gf bun, toasted.
