I chose the Avocado Toast topped with perfectly poached eggs and fresh arugula, along with two glasses of refreshing apple juice. The food was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The music created the classic Hard Rock atmosphere without being overwhelming, and the staff kept everything moving smoothly. Before heading out, we spent some time browsing the fun gift shop--always a must when visiting a Hard Rock Cafe! The best part about the restaurant was the location on the canal. Our view was wonderful, and we liked watching the riverboats float past. Besides that, I would not recommend this restaurant at all. The food was subpar at best and incredibly overpriced. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and tried my best to eat it because of the price, but I genuinely could not stomach very much of the unseasoned and flavorless sandwich and fries. My sister had similar complaints about her salmon dinner. The service was also incredibly slow, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. We had to wait around 15-20 minutes for our entree. I told the server I did not like his food and he said he would take it off the check. After waiting about 15 minutes for my check after asking for it, the sandwich was still on it. I decided I would rather pay for the sandwich than wait however long it would take to get the sandwich taken off the check, even though I barely ate any of it. We tried the Hard Rock Cafe since it was open late and in a good location, but I so wish we had just gone to a convenience store and gotten snacks for dinner instead. read more

I stumbled upon this location by accident. I was looking for the tram and noticed Hard Rock. I'm a huge fan of the twisted Mac here, and after being disappointed that their Brussels location has gone with a smaller menu, I was ecstatic. Date of visit: October 12, 2025 I popped into the store here at the Hard Rock Cafe Amsterdam as I needed to pick up a pin for a friend that collects Hard Rock pins and had been to this particular location, but had not grabbed the pin and I offered to rectify the error while I was in the area. Staff were friendly but not obtrusive, which I appreciated. The selection here is quite a bit smaller than many of the other Hard Rock locations that I have visited in the past--though those were mostly in the US, so maybe that was the difference in amount of items on offer? Prices were also a bit high--15 Euro for a small pin, with others eclipsing 20 Euro--though that did not necessarily surprise me given that we are talking about Hard Rock here. Staff also looked up my rewards information to make sure that I received points for the purchase, which was nice! read more

As 2 Americans studying in the Netherlands we decided to celebrate from abroad with the thanksgiving special at Amsterdam's hard rock cafe. Lets just say alot was left to be desired. The pros: service was great, the location is centric, and the view over the water is nice. The cons: The food was lukewarm, lacked flavor, and was pricey (~60USD+ for stuff in photo). Though I was not expecting it to be a home cooked meal we both expected more than this. Wouldn't be the first place I'd recommend those visiting Amsterdam but could be a nice stop for a drink. read more

I have been a fan of Hard Rock establishments for many years. I always visit one when I am in town near one. So, I have been to a number of them. We were especially impressed with this one. It was our last night in Amsterdam on a recent trip to Europe. We were able to get a seating upstairs overlooking the canals. Our server was helpful and friendly. We had ordered from a fixed menu deal we purchased online but were easily able to order other items at additional cost. The drinks were well made. We had a great experience at the Hard Rock Cafe! We try to visit the Hard Rock in every major city we go to, and this was one of our favorites. The service was great and the outside patio was a wonderful spot to people watch. It was also a nice to have a taste from home! We tried the margaritas, sangrias, and double-smash burger. Everything was solid. They asked if we wanted singles or doubles - we got doubles and they were HUGE! (pictured below). They were also very dog friendly and super accommodating. Right on the water in a very cool trendy location. The ambience is what you would come to expect for any Hard Rock Cafe however they have the distinctly Dutch undertone which is very cool. After having a quick Dutch Pancake Break and touring the Anne Frank House, Diane and I boarded a Hop On Hop Off canal boat and headed here for two Amsterdam Hard Rock pins and a cap for me, plus burgers for both of us. We were quickly seated outdoors, and settled in for lunch. Our Big Cheese Burgers, French Fries, and tower of crunchy golden Onion Rings were very good as usual for Hard Rock Cafe fare. But our server disappeared after taking our order, and we never saw her again. Later, after finally hailing another server, we learned that our waitress had gone on a long break--if not left for the day. Soon afterward our check was produced by the fill-in waiter with a 10% international AAA discount, and we paid up, left the premises, and were almost immediately seated in another canal boat that brought us near our meeting point for our reserved tour of the Red Light District with Randy Roy's Redlight Tours. read more

Well it breaks my heart to call this the single worst Hard Rock experience I've ever had. I travel all round and as touristy as it sounds I try and hit the Hard Rock in every city or country I visit. The second star is for the charming server who brought me two excellent old fashions during happy hour while I waited for my Covid test results to come back and for the hostess who help me translate the web sites I I had to get to to try and spend money to dine and get bling at the Hard Rock. The low rating is for the absurd rules snd prohibitions thrown at me by others on the staff. Here's the breakdown of activity. 1. Showed up to shop and eat. Was told they could not accept my paper vaccination record from the states. QR code or nothing. Thank goodness other restaurants and business in town Would photograph the paper and take passport number or I would have been eating at the hotel bar all week. 2. Had gotten a rapid test earlier but it failed to show up. My server and the hostess helped me get to a place to get another test 3. Went and got the test. Came back and was told that's not a Dutch QR code and that I needed a special app to make one. Downloaded the app and when prompted entered my test code. 4. The app said it wasn't a legit test so no joy. I called the lab and they confirmed the code. But the app would not accept it. 5. No code no fun at Hard Rock. Too hard to give them my business. Sooooo, I came back to hotel, made a reservation at a local place, went and had a superb dinner. Much better to go local anyway! The end game is that some businesses are glad to be back in business snd eager to serve. Others, who should try better, don't. Thanks again to the server and hostess for their help. Came off of the Viking cruise from Basel to Amsterdam and we needed a real American Burger. Well this place didn't disappoint. Luna was really great and I had a Swiss mushroom burger and he had the chicken tenders. They were just perfect. Also he had a local Affligem on draft although the waitress did recommend a better blonde in a bottle. I had the merlot which was what it was. Barefoot brand. Atmosphere was great. Arrived in a taxi to get a taste of Hard Rock Amsterdam, since it is one of our favorites, but (NOT THIS LOCATION). Customer service to us means you take care of the customer and make people comfortable. When we asked if they could call us a cab since we arrived that way, we were told NO (it was also raining pretty hard). The excuse made by management was upsetting. We were told they wouldn't call us a taxis because they don't come close enough to their location, yet we arrived there that way. Keep in mind we did not ask them to pay for our taxi, we only asked if they would call one for us since our phone wouldn't dial out. Management, don't make excuses our request was easy. Keep in mind we spent money in the restaurant, then in the shop buying t-shirts. NOT NICE VERY NICE OF YOU! Food - Was just okay Service - Server was nice Ambiance - Nothing special. Decided to keep on the hard rock train from cologne to Amsterdam so we ate here for dinner the day of our arrival. It was really busy. There was about a 30 minute wait for 2 of us. They give you a buzzer. When it was time to be seated, we were pushed off to the side and basically forgot about - we had to ask another gentleman what happened. We went upstairs and sat at a small 2 person table near a window that had a view of the canal. Service was slow. I ordered the chicken tenders again and my husband had the pulled pork sandwich. The food took awhile to come out then it took even longer for us to get our bill. This was to be expected considering how busy they were, but I would skip this place and choose another option. I try to avoid eating at chain restaurants particularly when I am on vacation but after being stuck in a hotel room eating Uber eats faire for six days it looked like a paradise to me. Our salads were filled with perfectly pink steak slices and our attentive waiters served us with the most exotic of substances actual ice cubes in our iced tea. I have traveled around the world to at least 20 countries just in Europe and have been to many Hard Rocks but at this one I will never go or recommend anyone to go to. I ordered the Massi Chicken Sandwich for 21€ and it was nothing like the picture in the menu. The waiter was nice enough and tried to get me another sandwich which came back pretty much looking the same and cold. My friend had ordered chicken tenders which cost 17€ and 3 times the amount of food. When I complained instead of crediting the dish, all they offered was a free dessert as if I would want to eat anymore of the shit the serve on a plate. Didn't feel this place. I didn't like how they split the bar from the restaurant and kind of put the bar off to the side away from the good views of the canal. I think the souvenir shop is bigger than the bar. In fact I know it is. Super lame. There is some outdoor seating around the bar towards the little Towne square, maybe works great when it's warm but since the bar is so small if you can't find a seat you can leave or deal with the cold if it's cold. Beer selection is minimal and it's the typical corporate environment where it feels like it's more of a tourist attraction then a restaurant. I'd avoid it personally. Much better places to go in AMS for both eating and drinking. Some hole in the wall hotel had 60 beers on the menu!! This place had 3 I saw, I'll say maybe they had 10 total. But no way 60. Then the food, go eat some fresh local seafood at a real Dutch restaurant, IMO. read more

5 stars for the 10oz burger here! If you want a decent hamburger in Amsterdam, this is by far the best place to go to! Seriously.. stop considering other places! Go to HRC and order the burger. If you don't say anything, they'll cook the burger medium for you which is great. If you want, you can tell the waiter/waitress that you want it medium-well but I definitely don't recommend anything over medium-well. Tip: When you order your 10oz €15 burger you'll get a big plate with a huge burger, some lettuce, pickles and tomatoes and fries on the side. Your juicy burger already has gloriously juicy and greasy bacon and cheese on it so DO NOT rape it by adding ketchup! That sugary stuff will just ruin and mask the real flavors! Take a bite before you add the ketchup and be the judge yourself. I recommend you remove the big onion ring that is on your burger, add the tomato and pickles put the bun back on the burger and start eating. World Burger Tasting Tour Event June 2015 As someone who travels quite a lot, sometimes you just crave something familiar. For me, this is a Hard Rock cocktail or a Bubba Gump Shrimp meal. When invited for a Yelp event to try out new Hard Rock cocktails, a range of burger recipes from around the World and a music quiz, my answer was of course "yes" and than I find out this event is also complimentary!! Winning! The kind people of Hard Rock Amsterdam treated us to free cocktails, wine or soft drinks throughout the event. The event showcased a new summer cocktail that was sweet, pink and yellow in colour and reminded me of good 'Sex on the Beach'. They called it the Yelper for the event but would not reveal the name. Other cocktails on offer were Bahama Mama, Southern Rock, LIT (Long Island Iced Tea) and another rum based one I can't remember the name of. There were also wines and soft drinks on offer. The canapes included crispy chicken strippers, cheesy tuna mini wraps, bruschetta with salmon or beef and parmesan. The chet then came in to talk us through the four burgers that were offered for tasting, there were large versions at the front of the room and sliders were served to us afterwards - just as well as there was so much food provided! The burgers for us to try were: The Miami (Cuban) Burger, the Vietnamese (Banh Mi) Burger and the Dubai (Date) Burger, Guatemala (Marimba) Burger. Unfortunately for a closed event with guest list, there were not enough burgers for everyone to try all four burgers. There seemed to have been a number of assumed vegetarians at this event who were catered for without people being asked and specifically catered for via the event administration. There were a few tongue-in-cheek jokes about vegetarians at a burger tasting event but clearly Hard Rock proved they cater for everybody. When the first (Dubai) burger came around and there were not enough meat ones, we were told that more would come out but they did not so this meant I missed out on even trying the meat free version. Quite a few people in the room were visibly disappointed but this was short lived as the generous event with cocktails and plenty of desserts following meant no one would go hungry! :) the Dubai (Date) Burger - didn't try so can't comment. My first thought was this would be nice with a lamb burger. The Miami (Cuban) Burger - this wasn't as flavoursome as I'd hoped as the burger I was more looking forward to trying. I expected this one to be a taste explosion with pulled pork, plantain, pickle, mustard and interestingly Swiss cheese. I could not really taste the pulled pork or plantain and at one point thought I had the vegetarian burger! I do wonder if the bigger burgers would do it better justice. Guatemala (Marimba) Burger - just what you'd expect from a tortilla, salsa, bean paste burger. This was nice and I wouldn't normally go for tortillas in a burger. I would have it again. The Vietnamese (Banh Mi) Burger - this one surprised me. Crispy stir fry veggies in a burger is a clever way to get people to eat their greens but was very tasty and, I thought, worked well with the glaze. The quiz was fun, 4 groups formed and each group asked a question which they got right or wrong totalling 4 questions per team. I'm pleased to say my team got 4/4 and won an Exclusive Hard Rock Amsterdam badge which was not on sale in the shop. We were also given gift bags with a grey canva Hard Rock bag, a Hard Rock Amsterdam clear zip bag (like the airport travel ones) and a 'Sexy and I Know it' Bike seat cover. The nachos were delicious once again! HRC Amsterdam does not have as cool interior decoration as other HRC's I've been to but the food is still great. We first grabbed a table on the terrace outside but there was a construction going on like 10 meters from the main entrance and the noise was horrid so we switched indoors. The waitress who let us change indoors was really pissed off about asking to get seated indoors though I thought she would understand. She had taken our order previous to this and forgotten I asked for chicken with the nachos so I was suprised when the portion came without the chicken. The nachos ruled nevertheless and didn't miss the chicken :) My husband and I split the nachos and were stuffed. There definitely isn't a need to eat anything else after you devour the nachos! We went here for their Thanksgiving special. So I can't tell you anything about their regular food. But, if you'are in Amsterdam for Thanksgiving, this is one of the few spots to get your turkey! We had 17 people, so they pushed a bunch of 2 person tables together which made it really cramped, but honestly, it's 17 people, so that's to be expected. Our server was amazing. She kept up with us even though she had plenty of other tables to take care of! The drinks are pricey and there are far better places to spend your money on a good drink. The atmosphere is typical of any Hard Rock Cafe, with memorabilia everywhere and music videos playing on various TVs. It's was pretty easy to get distracted by an early 90's video of Madonna. The food was okay. I mean, it's a restaurant serving Thanksgiving dinner. It was a set menu with a choice of 2 or 3 courses...again, it's Thanksgiving, of course you go for 3 courses! It came with corn chowder, turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, & cranberry sauce. Some asked for gravy, which they were happy to give. Pumpkin pie was for dessert, and it was okay too. Everything was okay...except the green beans, I really didn't like those (and I like green beans!). The experience was nice and food was fine. After watching the amount of people on bicycles and walking by to many coffee shops I had really worked up quite an appetite. Wanted to eat at a place I was familiar with and when my family and I saw Hard Rock Cafe I figured this would be a good stop. The Hard Rock experience is a good one with the music and the people there and all the memorabilia they have to look at. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed with the food every dish I saw looked kind of pathetic and especially for the price. I mean when you order a burger and its 15 Euro you expect something good. And my HoneyMustard Chicken Sandwich wasn't that great. The best part about the meal was I finally found a place in Europe that serves free water and free refills. That's like finding a needle in a hay stack. Overall the experience of being there is awesome and really would only go again for some free water or to go during Happy Hour because the drinks looked really good. What a great atmosphere! The staff here are super friendly and they all bustle around singing along to the music it's great! I walked in to an enthusiastic greeting by a friendly staff member who showed me where to sit. My waiter was super energetic and friendly and where I sat had a great view of the canal. I ordered the hard rock nachos which is an appetizer but is definitely big enough for a meal for one. I ended up staying for a really long time (they have wifi) after my meal and never did I feel pressure to move on it was a perfect balance of checking in on my needs and letting me enjoy the view and unwind.
