I have given this dump numerous chances to improve and they have failed miserably every time. I thought with app ordering they may have their best shot at getting it right just once. WRONG!!! I placed my order and the app indicated my order would be ready for pickup in 15 minutes. I gave them an additional 5 minutes before arriving at the drive thru. Upon arrival at the window the employee asked if I had the mobile order (yes) then asked if I had a drink with my order. The order hadn't begun to be cooked. I was asked to pull forward and wait, I declined. I'm not going to assist you in cheating the system and lying about the service timing. 15 minutes after the original time given my order was tossed out the window and the employee walked away. No apology for the error, no thank you just silence. I will admit the sandwich was very good. The fries however... overcooked and cold. Tasted like they had been sitting for hours. So after far too many second chances I've had it with this establishment. Apparently the owners and managers have given up and don't care anymore. The best suggestion I have for this place would be bulldoze it and sell the property to someone who will open a good fast food restaurant. read more

This Hardee's is always very busy on weekend mornings. The staff tries to keep up but they seem so disorganized & NOT very friendly. Today I got the breakfast platter with bacon. I got home with it & the biscuit looked like a bite was taken out of it, only a few hash browns which also had FRIES in with it. Bacon was just small crumbly pieces. Wish I had read the other comments before stopping here..... One star is three too many! A breakfast at 9:30 last week, after being on the road since 7:30. NASTY bathroom with NO toilet paper. Imagine how long it had to have been for customers to have gone through TWO ginormous rolls? What happened to replacing one at a time. Here's my story: Cashier: Here or to go Me: The ladies room has one stall with no toilet paper C: Here or to go? M: To go.... [placed my order] Did you hear me about the toilet paper? C: walks away, stays away because this person --- who just handled money from the previous customer -- had to go cook the tater tots! VIOLATION!! C: That will be $$$ M: [paying] C: Oh, and lady -- Hey, I did hear you about the paper...walking away, because now she has to handle my food... first placing it on a dine in tray then placing it, arranging it, lifting it out and placing it again into a bag VIOLATION! I didn't eat the tater tots, and after the first bite of the cold sandwich, I tossed it as well. NO ONE had a name tag -- but this girl had rectangular glasses and a ponytail through the cap. She was clean, at least, but her sidekick at the other register was dressed head to toe in a filthy black Hardees' jacket and pants. Traveler be warned.... read more

If I could give this place a no star rating I would. Service is beyond awful and everyone who works there is rude. Most of the staff are less than clean and some smell like they had been drinking. The place is filthy and I do not know how they pass any inspection. Do yourself a favor and just pass this Hardee's by. read more

The staff is nice, although it can be slow. They at least seem friendly and not as morose as the other fast food workers in Altavista.

went thru drive thru today and noticed the place needed cleaning up bad! the outside of the building and the drive thru were dirty! needed paint bad and wash the lot down! looking inside the floor was nasty and the shelves under the soda machine were nasty. there were about 6 employees at the front counter and only 2 were actually working. 1 at the drive thru and one at counter. the rest just standing and chatting with customers. they could have used this time to be cleaning! the place has really gone down over the last couple years! read more

I don't know what is happening at Hardees in Altavista,Va (24517)but we are getting the worse food on earth, when we are lucky enough to get it. Most of the time they leave out half the order. Ordered two pork chop biscuits with gravy this morning. They were cooked to death with no gravy so hard you could not even bite them. Last week ordered sausage gravy and it taste like watered down slop. This Hardees has always had good food but in the last two months it has been terrible. New management or not food cost too much to bring home and throw in the garbage can. One thing for sure we have been dealing with this Hardees for 20 years but we will not be going back! The only thing this Hardees has going for it is their breakfast and now they have ruined it. They best prepare to shut down the doors! When you call to complain all they do is offer more bad food! Good, decent breakfast but rude customer service and they are ridiculously slow. I waited almost 15 mins for two chicken biscuits and had to pull aside for other customers to go through the drive through. Well after about 8 cars going through, my husband had to drive back through the drive through to get our food. I'm assuming they just forgot about us. No apologies were made. This is every time we go to this place, the sad thing is that there are not many more options. Would be lovely to have a Bojangles in this area! read more

If giving negative stars were an option they would get -5. My husband went to pick up a breakfast platter. He waited for 45 minutes before he was told that they had sold out of biscuits. In addition he was then unable to order any other breakfast option because it was now after 11 am and they had stopped serving breakfast items. When I called the manager to complain she refused to take any responsibility for what happened in her restaurant. Instead she passed all the blame on the cashier. When I asked why since he had placed the order before 11 and never received it he was not able to order a different breakfast item. She said no breakfast is served after 11 am. I said he had placed his original order before 11 and then she said that they had run out of eggs too. I asked how this happens in a restaurant and she replied that she did refund him his money. Really??? Mighty nice of her to refund him the money he paid for an order he waited 45 minutes for and never received! While I was asking her some additional questions she handed the phone to someone else. What type of management strategy is that? Take responsibility for what your employees did, apologize to the customer and make things right, don't make up excuses and then hand the phone off to someone else. AWFUL customer service, AWFUL Management! I am all about patronizing local businesses but we will never set foot in the restaurant ever again! Hardee's Corporate should be ashamed of how this location treats their customers! read more

Nice little place on the main stretch of this little town. The staff was nice and friendly the food ordered was correct. Seemed clean.
