Good food. Nice employees. Clean inside except for the drink bar. And of course, it's slow to receive your order.

It's a small place with an eat-in area and a bar - the craft cocktails were really good - I ordered a grapefruit crush and to my surprise an employee was sent off to get a grapefruit STAT - I really appreciated this bc they just as easily could have said they didn't have it. My sister asked for a MaiTai - the bartender said he was missing one ingredient but it was good and packed a PUNCH. We both ordered the Aloha Burger. I had mine with tots, my sister had onion rings. We also had the candied bacon appetizer. It was a little soft when served but given a little time to cool it crisped up and was tastier. The crispy brussels sprouts were also good, they needed a little salt and additional sauce offered would have taken it up a bit. It would make a nice date night spot, definitely more casual. The outdoor patio would be cool too, in less humid weather. We didn't see much of our server after the food arrived, but I kind of get it - it's not like you're at a Michelin star fine dining place. I also note that seating is limited so you may find yourself waiting or doing a take out order instead. Service was friendly, dining area was clean. I thought the price was a little steep for what we ordered but we did sit and eat and the food was good.

This particular morning, they were offering a breakfast burger special: smash patty with bacon, egg, cheese, onions, jalapeños, and cilantro lime sauce. Their regular menu sells two different burgers: The Classic Double (lettuce, tomato, burger sauce) and The Retro Double (pickles, onions, ketchup, mustard). I opted for the retro double. The burger was good. It had a nice crust on the outside. There was enough ketchup and mustard on the burger to taste, but not so much that it's dripping off the sides when you bite into it. The fries were good. I wish they offered a bigger cup of them since they're almost $4. Burgers are $9.79, fries are $3.95, and drinks are $2.00. They also have merchandise like t-shirts, hats, and hoodies for sale. The employee that took my order was really friendly. I hope they make a return to the Crofton Farmer's market! I would definitely get burgers from them again.

There is plenty of parking near by and STB shares a lot with a few other businesses. I enjoyed walking around Kilmarnock before getting my meal. I seemed to surprise the gentleman in the truck when I got to the counter cause I spooked him a little. I bet it was really hot inside so I don't blame him for maybe zoning out. I ordered a hot dog and asked what toppings they had. Sounded pretty standard so I just got ketchup and mustard. I got a bottle of root beer to drink and took my seat in the shadiest spot I could find. It wasn't long before my order was ready and I went up to the truck to get it. I was handed a plain hot dog in a basket. Not a huge deal, I got ketchup from the dispenser but had to go back and ask for mustard. He apologized for forgetting to add the toppings. I really liked how the hot dog was scored on top. It was a big dog with a nice bun too. Altogether it was fine visit but nothing great.

The Chicago Dog would hold its own against the best Cook County has to offer (shoutout Portillos), and the Cheesesteak Dog is a legitimately delicious cheesesteak. The cheese fries also kill it. Awesome. The drinks are excellent too. The orange crush, dangerous. My brain did the Simpson's "I'm in danger" meme, because they are crushable and apparently quite alcoholic. Big time yum from me. The service is also great and really friendly. And even the bathroom is great; it's roughly 10x cleaner than you'd think for a combination bar and hot dog stand. All in all, this is a total gem.

While sitting on one of the wooden bench seats and placing my order with my husband, I suddenly felt something stab into the back of my left thigh. The pain was immediate and intense. When I reached back, I realized a piece of the bench had broken off and gone inside my skin. I was wearing a dress, so I jumped up in a panic trying to get it out. My husband couldn't see it at first because it was embedded inside my leg. After several attempts, we finally managed to pull it out -- and the piece of wood had blood on it. I now have a painful welt on my thigh, and as a diabetic, this kind of injury is especially concerning because of the risk of infection. I'm also concerned about what germs or bacteria were in that wood. I showed the piece of the bench to the waitress (it was her first day, and she clearly didn't know what to do), and I asked her to let the manager know because I didn't want anyone else to experience this. No one came to check on me. No one asked if I was okay. My husband eventually had to ask for our food to-go because I was so shaken and miserable I couldn't even stay to eat. When I went to the counter and asked for the manager myself, she came out and gave a very dismissive "I'm sorry about that, I'll check it out." I followed her to show her the bench, and her response was, "Yeah, I see. I'll just have them turn the bench to the other side." That was it. No concern, no incident report, no offer to help, no acknowledgment of how serious this was -- after we spent $88 on our meals. This experience completely ruined my day, left me injured, and left me extremely disappointed in the lack of care or responsibility shown by management. I truly hope they fix this issue before someone else gets hurt.

Usually it's later in the evening when they're already closed, or it's Monday-Wednesday when they're not open when we're heading back home. This time it was around 7:00, we were driving by, and I thought, "Let's stop in and grab some dinner and try something new." The first thing we noticed getting out of the car was the smell outside, which honestly wasn't very pleasant. Across the street there are several chicken barns, so I'm assuming that may have been part of it. When we walked in, we were greeted right away and told to sit wherever we liked. Inside is very nicely decorated. There's a counter with a few seats, several two- and four-top tables, and through a small hallway there are larger tables that I'm guessing become communal seating when it gets busy. Our server, Jaylin, came over quickly to take our drink order. He explained the beer options and mentioned they had homemade lemonade and sweet tea. My wife asked for unsweet tea but they only offer sweet tea, so she ended up getting water. I ordered the sweet tea and they definitely weren't kidding -- it's sweet! For dinner we ordered the three-meat plate with brisket and pit beef, along with collard greens and coleslaw. The food came out looking good, and I actually took a picture, but of course now I can't find it on my phone. The one disappointing thing was the brisket presentation. Instead of sliced brisket, it came out looking more like a pile of shredded beef. The meat itself was tender and flavorful, and some pieces had a nice bark on them. The pit beef was also tender and served warm, although I was expecting more traditional sliced beef. The collard greens were very good. I asked for some cider vinegar for them and was initially told they didn't have any. A few minutes later, a gentleman walked by and asked how everything was. I mentioned the vinegar situation and he immediately said they had gallons of it and brought some over, which I appreciated. The coleslaw just wasn't my style. I prefer shredded cabbage slaw, while theirs was chopped. It wasn't bad -- we still finished it -- just not my personal preference. I noticed another table got cornbread that looked really good, so I ordered a piece. Unfortunately, that was another small disappointment. It looked good on the outside, but once I cut into it, it was very dense and seemed to be mostly cornmeal without any actual corn in it. After taking a bite, it also seemed like it may have been microwaved because the inside had a rubbery texture. Overall, the meats were good and the sides were solid. One thing to note: make sure you read the ENTIRE menu carefully. There is a $5 upcharge for double meat. Yes, it's printed in red, but I completely overlooked it. Personally, I don't think the extra meat was worth the additional charge, and had I noticed it beforehand I probably would have ordered something different. It would have been nice if the server had casually mentioned the upcharge when ordering. Honestly, he probably would have gotten a better tip. They also offer homemade desserts, which I'll definitely try next time. Another table ordered the bread pudding and it looked amazing. One last thing: I understand we were there close to closing time, but while we were still eating, Jaylin started sweeping the rugs at the entrance inside the restaurant and rolling them up. That's probably something that should either be done outside or after the last customers leave. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and definitely look forward to stopping in again whenever we come through while they're open.
