After evaluating my Ford I was told that there was a Technical Bulletin that came out from Ford several years ago. I am impressed that they did the research to evaluate my car. They told me I did NOT NEED A TRANSMISSION. I only needed an update on the vehicle computer. Here's the numbers. Ford wanted $3500 for a rebuilt transmission. A new transmission was $6000. Final cost at Scotty's $150 to evaluate $250 to upload the new software Total $400.00 Can't say enough good things about this place. Talk about trusting a Mecanic!!! Due to preexisting damage to my rim, they didn't think the tire would seal properly so I could make my 70 mile trip back home. They put my spare on and told me "no charge" for their services. Went here for a basic yearly inspection, it took over 2 hours. I was told I needed multiple things…read morerepaired in order to pass the inspection. Calipers, brake pads, power steering rack (wtf? to pass inspection? um yeah ok) etc. When they finally gave me an estimate it was almost $2000 lol. The car is not even worth that much. The next day I took it to another mechanic, it passed, I paid $40 and walked out with a shiny new sticker, all in under 20 minutes. Ray's went a little overboard with their scamming attempt. I probably would have bought an estimate of, say, $500. I might have even believed them and had the work done. TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS though? On a car worth half that? LMAO. They aren't the brightest at Ray's I guess. I mean, I understand that Billybob the mechanic needs to replace 20 of his teeth and Bertha the receptionist needs a new MAGA hat, but $2000 is a little....on the nose. Ray's needs to learn how to scam a little more subtly, a new tire here, a new caliper there, but nope, Ray's wanted to go large with me lol. I also overheard the manager/owner mention that $120 for a 20 mile tow was a "tiny, bullsh*t" charge (his words, I was in earshot) and that the main goal was to get the customers car into the shop. The waiting area is also freezing cold, the receptionist was wearing a heavy winter coat (camo of course) behind the desk. If you DO decide to go here, dress in dirty camo and Carhartt, anything nicer will make them think you're a millionaire city slicker who needs to be fleeced of their money. These guys are straight up hillbilly criminals and they are too stupid to even scam properly lmao.

Called Matt's after and got a quote of $205 right off the bat ($45 parts & $160 labor) and informed me that an alignment for a wheel bearing change for my model car is not necessary BUT if I wanted on it would be $285 all together. I called the other place back immediately told them to F off and took my car the next day to Matt's.. it was done in a couple hours. I am beyond thrilled with the fact that 1. I didn't get ripped off and 2. the integrity of this shop. I highly recommend Matt & his shop.

He went over all details of their process and reviewed my expectations. Completed job showed attention to detail and that their Rhinoliner applicator took his time to do it right. I Have had both rhino and linex before. They applied Hybrid Rhinoliner which to me is closer to linex in texture and hardness than older Rhino formulas.
