Went here for a basic yearly inspection, it took over 2 hours. I was told I needed multiple things repaired in order to pass the inspection. Calipers, brake pads, power steering rack (wtf? to pass inspection? um yeah ok) etc. When they finally gave me an estimate it was almost $2000 lol. The car is not even worth that much. The next day I took it to another mechanic, it passed, I paid $40 and walked out with a shiny new sticker, all in under 20 minutes. Ray's went a little overboard with their scamming attempt. I probably would have bought an estimate of, say, $500. I might have even believed them and had the work done. TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS though? On a car worth half that? LMAO. They aren't the brightest at Ray's I guess. I mean, I understand that Billybob the mechanic needs to replace 20 of his teeth and Bertha the receptionist needs a new MAGA hat, but $2000 is a little....on the nose. Ray's needs to learn how to scam a little more subtly, a new tire here, a new caliper there, but nope, Ray's wanted to go large with me lol. I also overheard the manager/owner mention that $120 for a 20 mile tow was a "tiny, bullsh*t" charge (his words, I was in earshot) and that the main goal was to get the customers car into the shop. The waiting area is also freezing cold, the receptionist was wearing a heavy winter coat (camo of course) behind the desk. If you DO decide to go here, dress in dirty camo and Carhartt, anything nicer will make them think you're a millionaire city slicker who needs to be fleeced of their money. These guys are straight up hillbilly criminals and they are too stupid to even scam properly lmao. read more

Our RV broke down in eastern PA. We had a thread broken off in the engine block. Our roadside repair send a mechanic that could not fix the problem. Ray's was able to fix the problem right away and get us one the road quickly. Their mechanics and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I recommend Ray's extremely highly as a great, reputable shop that will go out of their way to help. read more

My Dad was in an accident in PA while towing a trailer home to MA from a car show in GA, two days before Thanksgiving. Ray's came out and spent hours cleaning up the accident scene, and then towed and stored Dad's van (totaled) and trailer (severely damaged) for us. Karen was very nice to work with during the month it took us to figure out what to do next with the two vehicles. Mike brought the trailer back to MA last week, and my Dad and I went back to PA this week (4 weeks after the initial accident) to Ray's, to clean out Dad's personal belongings from his van. Ray's folks kept checking on us, and seeing if we needed anything and Mike helped me move heavy or stuck items and even sent my Dad a lock and chain left in the van. I have been living in Shohola for a couple of years. Moving is stressful, and you always have to find a good doctor, mechanic, etc..well, I'm happy that I found a great mechanic. They are all really nice and helpful. They are trustworthy. I can go to them with a car problem, and not knowing about cars, they could say anything to me, but they don't play games like that. If there is only a little $5.00 part needed to fix my issue, they will tell me that, instead of saying I need to replace an entire thingamagig. I trust them. They are great. They are a authorized rental dealership for Hertz rental and when I went in there I found it to be not so friendly after years. But I needed a car and I did rent it on 1/8 tank when I came back talk to Nina everything seemed to be fine asked her about the gas and if there was a problem I would have taken the car to fill tank charges were suppose to be 216.00 I got my Bill from my credit card comp and they charged me for Gas then she denied it on the spot and I called Hertz they told me that RaysMy point if there was ain issue that ray said he left a note for her to see she should have told me when I returned the car. I cleaned car I would have put more gas in car. I traveled to Florida and Never once left that car running I am responsible. Thank you Hertz for Finally beleiving me. I appreciate it. I did not appreciate the attitude and my past being brough up when that was not professional at all. You dont know me I had rented a car. They are high Priced on repairs, I called back and talked to Ray and he resolved the matter himself, But really nothing got done he stands behind his employees whether its right or wrong. I will rent again because its hertz Rental and Hertz mentioned to me that if they turned me away that woud Jepadize them in everyway.
