Daughter wanted crab while we were on the island so we chose hardknocks! Family friendly atmosphere. I had the tuna steak, cooked exactly how I asked. And we also had to salmon! All fantastic!

Great atmosphere. Plenty of TVs and food/ drinks are good and well priced. Definitely a must visit if you're in town!

Came here during the football games and got the tri appetizer, wings, and the buffalo sliders. All were okay. The best things from our plates were the chips and guac, the BBQ wings, and the fries. The buffalo sliders were bigger than I thought they'd be which was nice! Atmosphere similar to BWW. Lots of TVs. Service was quick.

This place was an unexpected treat ! We chose to eat outside because of the noise level!!! But the food was the best in Padre

I was expecting a robust menu with a variety of yummy tapas to choose from. The menu was underwhelming with appetizers, not tapas, and a limited menu. A wine menu was provided, but a cocktail menu, or beer selected were not offered or available. We ordered a salad and appetizers. The salad was good and the best part of the meal. We also ordered the crab nachos and the bacon wrapped shrimp. Cute names on the menu, but unfortunately, again underwhelming and lacking flavor. The nachos were bland, with little flavor or seasoning. The most exciting part of the nachos were the thinly sliced jalapeños. The bacon wrapped shrimp were more flavorful with a red chutney/salsa. Tasty, but how can you go wrong with shrimp and bacon. Dessert was the best part of the meal. Our waiter brought over a hand written dessert menu. Hard to read the print, but he explained all the desserts. We had a brownie and ice cream dish that was delicious. Overall, cute place, great concept, great service but just "ok". Probably wont be back...unfortunately.....wanted it to work.

So why then did I even bother to try it out you ask? I have seen on Padre Island Facebook pages mentions that the service is not so good, but the food is always been good. The neighborhood groups were not wrong. It was really slow at 7:30 pm on a Saturday mind you it was pretty cold by Texas Gulf Coast standards. I ordered an Old Fashioned and that's something I know a little bit about and when the bartender put it all in a glass and shook it like. Margarita I knew it wasn't gonna be good, it was not good. I did order a cup of gumbo and it was alright I would order it again. For my entree I ordered the stuffed shrimp plate and it was pretty good too, I would order the entree again. Ambiance....I'm sure it's livelier in the warmer months so the staff won't be standing around talking to each other. I get it they were slow. I will certainly give it another try because the food was good. Sorry didn't take any pictures :(

This place screams modern tourist burger joint. The sort of establishment where every burger arrives with twelve unnecessary toppings, a quirky name, and a price tag that makes you briefly consider checking your credit score before ordering. Quite frankly the place should be renamed "Upcharge Central" or perhaps "Tourist Burgers Built for Photos, Not Stomachs" The outdoor seating itself is lovely though. Proper island atmosphere. Wooden picnic tables, sea breeze rolling through, cold drinks sweating in the Texas heat, tourists waddling about sunburnt and optimistic. It's the kind of setting where you want the burger to absolutely save your afternoon. Unfortunately... Mine did the complete opposite. I ordered their "world famous" Lulu Burger, their take on a jalapeño popper burger, and I genuinely believe it may have been one of the worst burgers I've had in the last couple years. Now look, I'm not against creativity. I enjoy innovation. But somewhere along the line society decided burgers needed to become science experiments. The moment that completely sent me over the edge? A massive slab of cold cream cheese slapped directly onto the burger. Not melted. Not slightly warm. Not blended into the burger. No mate. Refrigerator cold. The sort of cold where you could practically still see the HEB dairy aisle condensation on it. Completely threw off the texture and turned every bite into a confusing mess of hot beef meeting Arctic dairy product. Absolutely criminal behaviour. Now to be fair, my lovely date ordered the Hangover Burger which was noticeably better. Fried egg, bacon, cheesy goodness, all the things you'd expect after a rough Friday evening involving tequila and poor decisions. Still overpriced for what it was, but at least it tasted like somebody in the kitchen had a coherent vision. The sweet potato fries were actually quite decent as well. Crisp edges, soft middle, solid seasoning. No complaints there. Maybe I'm old school. Maybe I'm too particular. But when I think burger joint, my mental checklist is simple: Hot burger. Balanced toppings. Quality beef. Reasonable price. No culinary jump scares. And unfortunately this place missed the mark on several fronts. 3/5. Lovely atmosphere, decent service, and a fun island vibe, but the burgers themselves simply didn't justify the hype or the price tag.
