My boyfriend and I are from out of town and decided to have a nice dinner after a log day in the sun. The atmosphere and music were great! We got started with some oysters and calamari which were both great. Unfortunately the calamari was cold when it came out so we had to send it back. For our entrees, I order the baby boil and it was amazing and filled me to the brim! My boyfriend ordered the redfish which was out of stock and they only told us about 30 mins after ordering. Our waiter, Cooper, was amazing and recommended the black drum instead which was delicious. Cooper was on his A game!! But I think the cooks were super behind schedule. The fish took another 30 mins to come out and the sides were both cold. Cooper helped us with everything and comped my boyfriend's meal! Over all, an alright place to go. We visited on a Saturday evening with a large party, so we expected to wait a little longer than usual. However, waiting an hour and a half for our appetizers to come out was completely unreasonable. Throughout that time, our server rarely checked on us and never refilled our drinks unless we asked. My mother had to get up to find sugar for her tea, because that was never brought out when asked as well. We were repeatedly told that "the kitchen is so backed up," yet no one informed us of that before seating us or gave us the option to leave and dine elsewhere. A simple warning would have allowed us to make an informed decision, especially since we had hungry children with us. Unfortunately, the manager's response only made the situation worse. Rather than apologizing or offering a solution, he complained that he was going to have to come in and work the next day when he "was supposed to go fishing." As customers who had already been waiting well over an hour, that wasn't something we wanted to hear. We were looking for accountability and an effort to make things right--not sympathy for the inconvenience to management. What made the experience even more confusing was that the restaurant didn't appear to be particularly busy. There was plenty of parking and many empty tables, so it's hard to understand why the kitchen was so overwhelmed. Strong management means stepping in to support an overworked staff during busy periods, and that clearly didn't happen here. Overall, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences we've ever had. Long waits can happen, but poor communication, lack of service, and management's response made an already frustrating situation much worse. We left feeling ignored, disappointed, and wishing we had been told about the delays before we ever sat down. read more

We chose Hometown Seafood on the 2nd night cuz the menu had the most appealing stuff. However, the handed us plastic reusable menus that were dirty. I got some weird purple stuff on my hand and what looked like a booger on the other side - clean the menus! Check them! Thats the first impression!!! My husband wanted the black drum but they were out sadly. I ordered the crab cake Mahi. I inquired rather it was stuffed with the crab cake or there was just one of each... waitress i formed me the crab cake covers the too of the fish like a crust. Unfortunately, im lactose intolerant so I can do cream base sauces which is all it seems like anyone has, so I just had them put lemon pepper butter on the pasta. It was good, the fish could've been seasoned better, without the crab cake there wasn't much there. Presentation needs some work. My hubby settled for the Po'Boy, ps the french fries are really good!!! Battered kind! We also got calamari as an appetizer, it was good rings but needed a lemon wedge & more sauce. I drank a Cocomo - just tasted like coconut - one and done. I think the wait time (15min) for waitress to bring us a box for my son and the check after she had walked by like 3x and not made eye contact or noticed we were empty played and pushed everything aside. I finally got up and asked the hostess for the check since we were sitting near the door. She did have several tables spread our all over the restaurant, so she was busy, but if you'll prioritize those that are done, it keeps your tip high, and then that table can be turned over. There are plenty of screens with college football and baseball on them on a Saturday night. Steady flow of people in and out, but not a wait. Wish they had legit outdoor dining because the weather and breeze was nice out. It's located in a shipping center, so there's plenty of parking, but not really a view, easy to access if ur headed off the island to the bridge, otherwise traffic can be a mess for a minute. read more

Yall ok low key I thought Hometown Seafood was going to be a flop given the 3.5 star rating currently and location in a little shopping strip. Boy I was wrong! If you ever are in the area come check out Hometown! The food was so good and very high quality. As you walk in, the decor was giving seafood vibes. As a little bonus there's an arcade for the kids. Parents bring your quarters!! Service was amazing. We got oysters, calamari, and crab appetizer to start with. I was a little sad that they ran out of frozen hurricanes though. But so glad a real hurricane didn't come through sheeeeshhhh!!! That would have been real bad. Ok yall I repeat do not sleep on the crab cake sandwich!! It was literally the best thing on the menu. Everyone else in my group got some fancy smancy fish on rice which they enjoyed, but where they went wrong is that they didn't get the crab cake sandwich okayyy. We went during slow hours around 2pm. Everything was great. Restaurant was very clean. Eric was our server and he was friendly and attentive. The boudin eggrolls with remoulade a yum yum tuna were delicious starters. The shrimp bisque was super creamy and rich. OG New Orleans oysters were packed with garlic and flavor. Last week I stopped in at Hometown Seafood and I ordered the Cucumber Green Goddess Salad and for dessert I had a slice of Carrot Cake. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the salad was so good I returned the next week for the same meal. JayJay was the bartender both weeks and she is the bartender extraordinaire moving fast to make sure customers receive their drinks and prepared food. I ordered the Cucumber Green Goddess salad with Romaine lettuce, avocado, cucumber, edamame cherry tomatoes, croutons tossed in house made green goddess dressing. You can add chicken, shrimp or salmon and I chose salmon for both this weeks meal and last weeks meal. For me I asked for shredded Parmesan because it was the flavor that brought it all together. Also the Green Goddess Salad dressing is mixed throughout the green components. If you think it would be too much salad dressing you could request it on the side. For me the entire meal was delicious so much in that I will be back for the same next week. Their entire menu offering looks absolutely delicious. Also at the bar I was watching a cook cooking and preparing the plates of their Hometown Seafood BOILS. They offer the Baby Boil, Big Daddy Boil, Bob Hall Boil, and the Big Ballers Boil. All are described in their menu and in a photo. That seafood is extraordinary the sizes you can share or have for your meal. A lot of prepared meals are served. The Redfish on the halfshell was the best I have had in 30 years. The oysters were fresh, the Drunken Shrimp delicious and the pina coladas were excellent. This was my favorite place so far on my vacation. Service was fast and it was only one man named Tanner doing the roles of 4 people. 10/10 phenomenal employee give this man a raise! The food was great. I had the gumbo, catfish bites (light delicious breading) , Rockefeller, boom boom shrimp. Everything was a 4/5 aside from the shrimp. Something about the sauce was a lil intense as it reminded me of a honey glaze from Panda Express honey walnut shrimp. Pepino refresher was fine nothing to write home about. Ambiance was very clean! I was worried when friends suggested this place for dinner. It had taken over from a sports bar and some of the reviews were bad. However, the service was excellent and the food delicious. While the drink portions were appropriate for adults, for the children in my family it was rather large, and we would have appreciated a smaller size option. We visited this location on 6/22/25 and spent over $150! We were celebrating a friend's daughter's wedding anniversary while on vacation. We arrived at 7:15 and finally left at 10pm, but not by choice. We patiently waited well over one hour for our food and some of the drinks. The food was good except for the calamari. The calamari was tough and over done. The rest of our plates were good, once we got them! The worst of it all was the horrible service from our server, Raulphie B? Her attitude as the night went on got worse. We never complained about the long wait for food or drinks. We didn't even complain when my husband's order was wrong. Our server kept stating the restaurant was short on supplies due to the 4th of July rush? This was mentioned several times. At the end of the night, she told us not to worry about filling out the survey. She claimed "good or bad" review didn't matter because it would never get back to the restaurant management anyway ? When we finally asked to speak with a manager, the hostess told us he was too busy to speak with us? We spoke with Steve who apologized but said the owner would call us and make this right. No call but I'm not surprised at all. I will not recommend this place to anyone. Do not waste your time or $ here until the wait staff is trained in common customer service courtesy. Raulphie surely did not deserve the automatic 18% gratuity for her less than par service. Very disappointing experience. Not a great way to celebrate! read more

The hostess was exceptionally friendly even though she was working double duty; she was a hostess and our server. The side salad was fresh and the entree was flavorful. They offer a small and a large combo of shrimp and catfish. As you can see the small combo -as I was told would be - 4 shrimp and 2 fillets. However, it looks like a fillet cut in 2. For dinner, I ordered a large garden salad and shrimp bisque. The cucumbers tasted like chemicals or something extremely horrible, the tomatoes tasted rotten. Bisque had rice in it that was so hard you could not chew it. Clumped, hard and horrible. My entire meal was not edible. They replaced the salad, but when I mentioned the rice, was told, yeah I think they overcooked it, we won't charge you. No replacement, nothing. Drinks took forever. Will not return. read more
