Prices have gotten out of control--from tickets to snacks. For a family of four, you're easily spending around $100 (and thats at matinee), which is just unreasonable. Buying tickets isn't as convenient anymore either. The outside kiosks are gone, cant use ticket machines and ordering online adds extra fees. So you're stuck going inside. Concessions are frustrating. Lines are long, yet staff don't seem organized, and service feels slow. Popcorn is overly buttery even when you ask for less, and everything--sodas, combos--feels overpriced with no real deal or savings. Rewards are also a hassle since staff rarely ask for your membership. Seating is just okay. It's tight, not very comfortable, and doesn't recline like other theaters. On top of that, bathrooms are inconveniently located all the way near concessions instead of being more accessible. Relatively clean except for area you get condiments, usually dirty. AND, they no longer have flavored seasons . Overall, it's not a great experience for the price. I'd give it a 3.5/5 read more

We were able to easily purchase our tickets & snacks in order to skip the lines & save time. The location itself is clean & well maintained. Last night my partner and I wanted to enjoy a movie, we found ourselves going to this theater. What a mistake. As we enter to purchase tickets there were two workers who we had the awful pleasure of interacting with, it had seemed as if we were a bother to their conversation, even them telling us the direction of the theater they couldn't have even said without an attitude. We found ourselves going to the concession next, where there was one worker who was standing around and another who was taking an order. Confused by who to go to next we had stood there looking for any guidance. When the customer in front of us cleared we were now looking at the two workers who were looking at us blankly, again no guidance what so ever and no hospitality. I was then let down again when I approached the concession stand and the worker in front of me treated us as a nuisance. Very disappointed with my night. The movie going experience is more than the movie it's also the environment. As a previous movie theater worker who worked the nights, it's not difficult to show hospitality and curiosity to customers. read more

Today the VA took the Veterans to go see the Ronald Reagan movie at Harkins. The show didn't start until 12:30pm. The VA got to the theater early only to find out the doors didn't open until 12 noon. They were left outside in a 110 temp along with other Senior Citizen until they opened. I told the Manager they should have been considerate enough to open the doors early for the Elderly waiting out in the heat. read more

Very happy with experience here, theatre is clean and all the usual snacks you expect from a movie theatre, popcorn is usually very good and gets most movies I want to see. Staff has always been pleasant and helpful, even when it's been busy with summer kids movie. Always been able to find parking reasonably close to entrance, really like I can pick my seat before I get into theatre, just wish patrons would sit in assigned seats before movie starts. read more

There are several things we love about this theater. One of them is its location. It is perfectly located in a great shopping center with stores such as Target, Cold Stone, Dillard's, Best Buy, and more. Additionally, tickets are a steal at $7! We also purchased the popcorn deal where you get a medium sized one each time you purchase a ticket. However, if it isn't enough you can pay a dollar for the upgrade in size. read more

Wonderful snack bar with a large selection of goodies. Popcorn is consistently hot and fresh. Great pizza! They offer a promotional soft drink cup that allows a $2 refill on subsequent visits if you bring it back with you. The draw back is the old fashioned seats. We love that they offer reserved seating but we expected reclining seats. Sadly, none. read more

The theater is at a great location with the shopping center and near the restaurants. They have huge stadiums for the movies and all the new films. The tickets are $7.50 which is lower than where I came from. My only complaint is the bathroom is not clean and smells pretty bad. Other than that, you can order tickets online or use Atom to go with the QR codes. Super convenient! read more

This is such a nice theatre. There snack area is so nice & clean, the workers were friendly & quick. It fun that they have different kinds of big pretzels so I had a garlic/Parmesan one & it was tasty. The popcorn is always fresh & yummy too! The individual theatres are always clean & comfy. Wish they had reclining seats but they are comfy. The bathrooms have always been very clean & tidy! There is a small area for kids to do different carnival type games. I loved that they had free packets of real lemon juice to add to my bottled water I bought there! read more

Came in on Thanksgiving with the hubby, my daughter and my two nephews. The facility was clean, customer service was excellent, and the theater was ample with comfortable seating and a good sound system. Not a fan... Two stars for ease of buying a ticket and getting a drink. Like all theaters, this one is ok if you like kids kicking the back of your seat and pushing you while you're trying to watch the show. I asked the rude mother of 3 to please stop them. Not a chance. Should have had them removed. The parking is almost impossible and there is only one entrance so you have to walk too far. We can't walk that far, sorry. Maybe there needs to be more handicap, but we aren't handicapped yet. I actually hate it is public places like this because of the risk of transmitting unwanted whatever from jerks like woman with the kids who herself let out a nasty sounding cough that covered the back of my head. Maybe she even did it on purpose, which is worse, having no manners whatsoever. Cover your cough people! And what on earth are you bringing an 8 year old to see a pg13 I'll never understand. I'm chalking it up to bad parenting. The kid actually looked at me like I was the one with the problem and so did the parent. Like Mother like daughter I guess. Disgusting. The seats were not comfortable especially on the front row. You cannot see the whole screen from the front. It's not possible. Poorly designed in my opinion. They went for revenue by square footage instead of comfortable. Seats should slightly recline for comfort and there should be more room. I guess I really dislike HUGE theaters, they really aren't huge. I'm not typically picky with theaters but we had a bad experience. My friend took her teenage sister to watch a movie & they would not let her in despite the fact that my friend was an adult! They said, she had to have her parent accompany her into the theater. They couldn't just say it was ok or buy her ticket, they actually had to sit through the movie with her. I don't know if this is common practice but we were pretty annoyed. We did get a free movie showing which we didn't waste but my husband refuses to step foot inside since that incident. I've only been there a handful of times since but I've had decent service. I still prefer Main Street Cinemas downtown. read more

While staying in my hometown of Brawley, California, there were no showings of "Fantastic Mr. Fox". Nearest one was Harkins at Yuma Palms. Omg, I had never been to Arizona, ever! Didn't miss much. I love how the employees have to wear little black bowties and suspenders. You don't see that often in a theater. The sound and quality of the motion picture was fine. It's a pretty big cinema. One thing that really irritated me though, was spotting an employee counting us in the theater "to ensure no one snuck in" in the middle of the movie. Really? That's so petty. Well movie-theaters, I go there every once in a while, since I just don't enjoy the sound of popcorn munching and coke slurping all around me. Bright little iPhone screens distracting me from watching the movie, and the guy sitting behind me kicking me in the back over and over again for 2 hours straight. .... Makes me sometimes dream of a private home-theater... Anyways, uhhh, I wanted to rate this place. Well it's the only place where you can go for movies in Yuma, unless you wanna drive 65 miles to El Centro. The prices are about the same as other theaters. I watched Dark Shadows on the first night and paid $7.50 each. I didn't know that this theater offers seat reservations!?! Did you?? Well all you gotta do, is have 1 or 2 friends blocking an entire row with purses and jackets and some nasty little kids telling you *Uh, you can go, this row is full you can not sit here!" Also loved the crying baby in the 10.00pm showing!! - Why would they allow a baby for a. a movie like this and b. at 10.00pm - go get a babysitter!!!! =( Restrooms, well you do what you have to do, after you had a large drink during the movie. Never going back. Manager tried to offer me free tickets after I voiced my complaint but it was too little too late and I told them they had lost a customer - a promise I've kept. Twice in a row seeing movies the first week they opened we were subjected to theaters with very poor air conditioning. Both times I had a large wet spot on the back of my shirt from sweating and I'm not one to sweat like that just sitting still. Walking out I noticed it was a common affliction as almost everyone was visible wet with sweat from the poor circulation of warm air. And I was in shorts and a short sleeve shirt. Many people (including my wife) were dressed expecting the chilly temps that are usually standard in a movie theatre - I was amazed no one passed out. read more

The Harkins of yuma has only been around for a few years and as such it is in pretty good shape. It is usally clean inside and the seats are nice and comfortable for me. These seats are the rockers so they are great to play with. (ok at least they were fun for me when I was young. :-P ) LIke most Cinemas they have incentives to get you to come back. For example the Harkins has a deal on soda that if you buy their huge special cup for X amount of dollars (dont remember the exact amount) you can get refills for a dollar any time you bring that cup in. Now if you drink a lot of soda or just drink soda period in a Cinema then you will save some money here. Expecially if you and your significant other(girl/boy friend or spouse) share. :) For movie the Harkins shows most of the big hits and some of the not so big hits. But the theater is only 14 screens so some movies will just not make it. Case in point, becoming Jane(2007) One last point is the price. It cost more then the main street theater in down town. as for the pop corn and soda I am not sure which is more but I like the free pop corn deal at the Main Street theater. So the 4 stars are for its nice accomindations and numerious screens. 1 star off for price. read more

I gave it 3 stars: Unless you get there early and sit in the top-most rows, you will get a head-ache in the lower rows, especially bellow the half point!!! ... because the theaters are narrow and the screen is BIG!!! Love the prices! (I'm used to California prices $10+ a ticket w/military) I went to watch Hugo (3 hr movie I think) and during the whole second half of the movie it kept cutting out. This has never happened to me before, but it was VERY annoying and no one came to resolve the issue. This is your typical Harkins, not as great as the theater downtown. The sound system is great and the seats don't feel like their concrete so it's got that. The only good thing about it is its location, afterwards you can chill and eat at one of the little places just around there. read more

So they're back open but you can forget the BOGO large and extra large popcorn. By the way the current extra large is the old large. For the loyalty cups, they give you a large cup of whatever that is a few oz less than the loyalty cup. Nice corner cutting. read more

This is my favorite theater out of yuma. To be honest i have never ever had a bad experience until now.. so i went to the movies with my girl friend to watch a movie we were having fun and everything. After the movie was done i could still get a free pop corn refrill so i went to get it and when i approached the counter the guy said with a nice smile how can i help you sir? As soon as i said can i get a refrill of pop corn he rolled his damn eyes at me and said okay also i said a little bit of butter he added like a damn bucket of butter and handed my pop corn rudely. But other than that everything has been fine. And its a nice place to go out to. read more

Their staff is very friendly and will try to solve the situation at best as they can with you. I have had little complaint other than a movie issue (but it's a small town so what do you expect?) The seating is comfortable and their loyalty cups are amazing. $1.00 refills. The only thing I dislike about the place is that their food is very expensive. Just for a bottle of water it is $3.25, way beyond the price of what it should really cost. Their food such as fries or pizza is small and expensive. But so far their movie screens and seating have been great. A definite place to go spend time with your family, or a friendly outing with acquaintances, friends, co-workers. read more

Visiting Yuma for the first time with a friend. One of my favorite restaurants is here so I made the 260 mile trip from OC. After an amazing dinner, we wanted to see a movie. Decided on "Valentine's Day" given that it was valentines day. The only major theater that comes up on the iPhone is Harkins. Headed over to Yuma Palms shopping center. It's a very nice center. Theater was decent. $8.50 tickets. Automated ticket machines available which is always a plus to me. Inside was bigger then I had expected. Seats recline, another plus. After the movie needed a restroom break and I walked into a bathroom that stunk horribly of vomit. It was in one of the sinks and all over the floor. When I went to tell the management all I found was a teenage "team leader" who was arguing with 3 other employees over who has to clean it. Otherwise it was an okay experience.
