Prices were great for a long time, now the prices at concession have gone up a lot and the discounted tickets are only 50 cents less than full price and they've gone up, too... - and - a couple of dollars difference and free refills on large drinks and popcorn are +. Went to see Spider-Man: No Way Home last Christmas with the whole family and it was entirely too loud. I should've done something when I saw both kiddos covering their ears with their hands for substantial portions of the movie. Ever since that day I have been having hearing issues and when I even think about that movie, I have kind of like a slight PTSD due to how painful/uncomfortable it was to my hearing and also guilt for exposing my family to it (it was my idea to go to the movie there). Probably difficult to hold them legally liable if there is in fact real hearing damage from this experience but you think that the theater would care more about their customers' well-being. I had a decent opinion of this place before, but the negligence here may have left permanent damage and so I feel a duty to warn others. read more

This small town movie theater ended up being a great choice for a family passing through Yuma. Their ticket prices are reasonable, especially for kids. For whatever reason San Diego doesn't really discount for kids but Regency Main Street saved us about 4 bucks per kid for non-matinee. For a small town like Yuma I appreciate Regency's effort to modernize and to keep the movie experience up with current standards. It's a bit wonky, but they do have a seat reservation system when you buy your ticket. Not the most efficient, but it worked. Seating inside consists of large electric lounge chairs. These things are comfy and you could practically go horizontal if you wanted to take a nap. - Sound and video were okay. - No firearms allowed inside. - Staff was friendly, try finding that at a theater in San Diego. - Bathrooms mostly upstairs. - Fair concession pricing but avoid the combos and just select a la carte. read more

Wow! Our first time here since buying our home in Dec. 2020. What a clean, beautiful place. The snack area was neat & the popcorn was so fresh & yummy! Lots of butter at our request too! There are several theaters & we were in #1. It was clean, big & our favorite was the power reclining seats. We've sat in electric recliners before at a movie theater but these are over the top comfy! They have these seats in all their theater rooms they say. The guys & gals working were so kind & friendly! Easy to order tickets online & they scan off your phone when you get there. Theater is located in the Historical Downton Yuma area on Main St. so after a movie go & have a meal at one of the several eateries! Plus visit the cute shops! Support our local businesses downtown. Things I love about the Regency Cinema: 1) I'll probably be the 3000th person to mention the reclining seats. Watching a movie that just opened that weekend in one of these fancy seats makes one feel like royalty. I'm sure not even QE2 gets to sit in a comfortable chair such as this. (Ok, she does get to sit on a throne. And wear a tiara). 2) The coffee frappes (although I have actually been devotedly ordering the "Cheech Marin", which is a Mexican-inspired mango smoothie, with a drizzling of Chamoy, and a generous sprinkling of Tajin. In other words, the ultimate perfect "raspado")! 3) The all beef hotdogs (a highly satisfying meal, especially if you're a cheap date). 4) The popcorn-smothered with that artificial liquid butter, so yellow one must wonder if it's radioactive. But who cares if it's sinfully good. My thighs are crying as I write this. 5) Going in during matinee showings. There's something to be said about saving a few precious bucks. Oh, the thrill of a good bargain. And apparently, not too many people care to take advantage of this. I personally enjoy that there are no crowds, or long queues to the consignment shops. So, if you happen to have a day off, or an early work or school release, or simply want to play hooky (I'm not condoning it though, especially if you're still going to school!)--why the heck not, right? 6) Filling up my rewards card for a free movie. Sorry, Harkins. I just noticed that I'm actually allergic to the fabric of the seats in your theatres here in Yuma, at least. My whole lower body and back itches like mad! I seen The Amityville Horror here when I was like 6 with my then single mom! I seen Star Wars here with my step-dad when I was about 10! This is an old school theater that somehow survived the ages (since I imagine it would predate most conservationist communities). Glad to see it's still around, look forward to stopping by again! My husband and I love this theater! We first went because we found it to be closer to our house than Harkins. And the recliner seats are great, it's also nice being able to choose your seats before you walk in the actual theater. They also give a better military discount ($6 per person), versus Harkins $7 I think. Granted $1 doesn't make that much difference, but only spending $12 for tickets makes getting snacks and drinks a little more justifiable. It's definitely our go to theater! (Only thing to note, they say on the door they don't have public restrooms, but I did notice a restroom sign on a door by the theaters to the right.) read more

Went for Godzilla tonight. Was a good movie but why is it so loud now? I noticed the last two times we went, the speakers were really loud that I ended up with a ringing in my ear. Back to the movie part....they decided to turn it off mid credit scene. This also isnt the first time they cut the post credit scenes. I get that you want to hurry up and clean and leave. But people pay for the WHOLE movie, including the extras. There were atleast 20 people watching the post credit scene with us and the guy just turns it off. Everyone boos and asks for them to put it on but the guy just peaks over and leaves. Wth? read more

I had a very bad experience in this Cinema. I bought 3 bottle of waters, and pop corn, the popcorn was extremely salty without butter and cold. And just for letting them know about their pop corn, they called the police, and put a restraint order on me. I know it sounds ridiculous but this actually happen. You call the police to a customer for threatening with a gun, stealing or using vulgar words or using violence, and none of these was the case. I only ask to speak to a Supervisor to let know about the pop corn. I was speaking to a Supervisor, Brandon when suddenly, Vanesa, manager appeared and jumped in our conversation without introducing herself, and very rude said, we cannot give you a refund or more pop corn because you already had your refill and she cut me off and both left to the front entrance. I went back to find their names and this is when I heard Vanesa said out loud call the police. I didn't thought she was serious. I left and went to the restroom and left the place and this is when I saw the police outside talking to them. The police called me and went to them because I had nothing to hide. And this is when I find out what they did. I thought these people are crazy and dangerous, very rude, unprofessional, and nothing of customers service. Watching the preview with the lites on was no fun final my wife had had enough when the movie started and they were still on , the crew was in the back room talking and the guy dismissed her and said we will get to it . Then the seats are shot and you sink into the bottom of the chair and can't see over the sits in front of you . The women's bath room down stairs was broken and women that work had to use the men's too. So to say we didn't enjoy the venue but movie was good . read more

I have been coming to this theater since it was Main Street and absolutely loved it up until tonight... When we went in the girl asking for tickets also was searching purses, wow, since when does a theater do this. It was simply ridiculous and an invasion of privacy. Then at concessions the kid behind the counter informed me they charge .25 for each tray, I have never been charged for a tray. I asked him why and he said it was because people put their popcorn in it. Well duh! The manager, I'm assuming was the manager, a lady with dread locks I believe her name is Vanessa rudely snaps at me and says the price for the trays is listed and she points to a menu. Harkins doesn't charge for trays and they are a lot better quality than the ones at Main Street. The bathroom was another story. The place looks like it was never cleaned. It was simply disgusting. So with that being said the chairs are comfortable but I think I will begin to take my business to Harkins, sadly. They need to. Bring your own toilet paper. Only 1 ladies bathroom downstairs for all the theaters (there are more upstairs) No toilet paper in the ladies washroom and 3 hours later, still no toilet paper. It was brought to managements attention but they did not appear to be concerned. Reclining chairs were not comfortable. Harkins theatre in my opinion is a better option. read more

There aren't a lot of choices as far as locations go to watch movies. So if you're gonna do it, why not get a deal right? I love coming here!! If you go on Wednesdays, you get a free medium sized popcorn with every ticket and refills on soda. Say what? They have all the flavored popcorn seasonings, FOR FREE (the other theaters make you buy them, psh)! I usually go to the later shows so it's pretty empty. Great price. $6.50 per person/ $5 for matinees(I think..?). WAAAAY cheaper than Harkins for just as good of a setup and the same movies. Concessions prices are also decent. Large popcorn for like $3.50 or something - compared to $7 bucks at harkins.. ugh. Great place. They have an awesome celebrity autographs display. Very jealous. They also have a little coffee shop. Lots of fun recipes/mixes. Yum. Seating is comfortable. Clean. Every time I go it's never really crowded. The staff is attentive, and helpful. Oh wait, cash only for everything, but no biggie. Grand opening! I never got a chance to come here before it closed in September. Bummer. Luckily new management took over and they're back online. I went to a late night showing of Mockingjay last night. For being an old theater, everything looks pretty up to date. Bathrooms were clean for it being late at night (9:50pm showing). The prices for food and drinks kind of shocked me. $4 for a small soda, yikes...Considering the price of tickets ($2 matinees, $3 after 6pm), I was hoping it'd be cheaper. The screens themselves are nice, seating is comfortable, however there were some lines running through the screen in theater 5 that were distracting. I'm sure it'll be fixed ASAP, this was grand opening night so there's bound to be a problem here or there that was overlooked. Overall, nice theater, we'll probably come here for movies from now on. Concessions are about the same as Harkins but you save money on the movie tickets. read more

There are only two cinemas in yuma and this is by far my favorite. Here is the break down... Pros: It is in located in the currently revamped main street district of town. which has lots of little specialty stores. Nice area to walk around before the movie. (Fall-spring, for summers stay in the cinema). Also you can get free popcorn after every 3 tickets. so with me and my wife we get free large popcorn ever 2 out of 3 times. Cons: None really. It is your typical cinemas, the floors are usually sticky if you get their during the evening, lots of kids running around during the day. Nothing that you don't get anywhere else. If you are in town try this cinema before you try the Harkins. It is cheaper and less crowded. read more

The Main Street Cinema has excellent theaters; prices are best in town, you can get a great seat on movie opening nights, it has a fantastic coffee bar, and incredible murals. Add to that, free popcorn on Wednesday nights with the purchase of a drink. What's not to like? So why do I get nearly private showings every time I come? Best kept secret in Yuma. read more

This theater is, meh. It's kind of a bittersweet experience. Let me rephrase that. The recliner seats were the only sweet thing about it. The food was absurdly expensive. The tickets were as well. A little less than $20 for 1 drink and a bag of popcorn. My family wanted to get a box to share with the kids because we won't eat that much but even the small cardboard boxes cost money! We spent at least $30 more at Regency then we would have at Harkins. Not my top choice. read more

I love this movie theater, I do think it's better than Harkins because. That have a rewards program, their seats are ten times more comfortable than Harkins these recline, the movie theaters aren't super huge and fill of people like Harkins, and their combos at the concession stand are worth it, and their drinks are also way bigger than Harkins cups. I end up spending the same thing as what I do for Harkins. And before I forget they have more snacks than Harkins does. read more

My family absolutely loves the set up of the movie theater. However, today when we went, after spending $25 to get in and $30 on food they wouldn't give me a regular cup of water free. Great place to go to especially for those midnight showings. Just like any other theatre. Two things I don't like is that their front row seating is very small and I can't stretch my leg out on the bars like Harkin's. Other than that, the seating isn't so soft as it used to be. They have a small game room with old school game systems. They have a cafe that you can buy lattes or coffee and bring into the theatre. The tickets are cheaper and so is the food. But the best overall is: They have $1.00 Hot Dogs that are very delicious and awesome to eat. Once you get them, you will crave more. I spend $20 just on those. Overall 4 out of 5. read more

Worst customer service ever! I purchased the Nestle Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich and it was soft. When I told the manager and showed her, I was told this is the way it is served. It is supposed to be ice cream NOT soft serve!!! She didn't even offer to refund it. I asked her to throw it away. I guess I will have to bring my own snacks from now on. I like this place as it has that "hometown feel" to it. Also, there is a coffee bar which adds a lot if you prefer hot drinks. The selection of movies is usually pretty good and the prices are decent as far as movie theatres go. The seating is comfortable. Some of the rooms are a bit small and it can be cramped when the Winter Visitors are here. All in all, I prefer it to the other cinema in town as I can get in and out hassle free, without crowds of people. read more

This place is very nice. It's very clean and the seats are comfortable. The food is great and fresher than any other place I've eaten at and I'm so thankful they make the drinks with a lot less ice. The workers are very nice and respectful they also help you with anything they need. The typical not so crowded kind of place. I've only had one problem and that's when they go ahead and rip your ticket and tell you what theatre you are supposed to be in and the movie isn't even done. When a movie is about to end have workers there that way when people get there let them know it's not finished but about what time it will end. My date and I had to get out so they could clean which isn't a problem but you should have people there telling you it's still needing to be cleaned instead of having us get out once we already had our seats and got comfy. read more

The posting of showtimes for the theater attractions is very inadequate and the customer service is quite lacking. Even corporate is lacking in good customer service when contacted. Regency needs to step up their game and meet the customer's desires and post movie times and dates at least a week in advance, not on Thursdays. Some of us need to plan our time and cannot wait until the last minute to see what time a movie is playing and what day. read more

Coming from San Diego, I was expecting to pay my left foot for a ticket. Gladly that wasn't the case. With my student discount I paid $6. I was so happy, went straight into the theater and then i saw the leather recliners! I couldn't believe I was paying only $6 for what would be a $20 equivalent from where I came from! I am very perplexed 9 months later, I chose to revisit Regency Main Street Cinemas for another go (I'm a very stubborn homo sapiens male specie) and to find out that EVERYTHING was remodeled. Brand New Theaters instead of stadium chairs, Lazy boy style Recliners, Fresh Popcorn, AC is cooler than my freezer. I enjoyed this Theater so much now that I'm making it the YUMA's BEST! read more

This theater has changed ownership & is now Regency Main Street Cinemas. Their new # is 928-539-5555. It is still in its same downtown location. Only a few new releases are played here but it's a way cheaper & relaxed atmosphere than the Harkins. It also has an indoor coffee shop. It works great for me! read more

Saw someone in the theater put M&Ms in popcorn, i am going to have to try that! Someone had to go up to the front and tell them to turn the lights off when the movie started. What I do like is the coffee, harkins does not have coffee and the prices are way better. $1 hotdogs, the kids love it. read more
