Beer Cheese & Pretzels

Service and staff are wonderful and knowledgeable, not to mention the cutest cat Peaches. The updated food menu has a great selection, the beer cheese and pretzels are my favorite. Lovely way to spend a day, the building itself has lots of character and not to mention an amazing view from the outdoor seating area.

I loved this place. The atmosphere was amazing. I loved walking though the antique barn to get to the tasting room. I bought a bottle of the Cabernet Dore and tasted several others. Their cheese board was very unique and well thought out. We had a smoked Gouda with honey that was AMAZING. Wine selection was nice. Service was impeccable. I will definitely be back to this Winery!

Wine tasting and cheese board. Excellent!

Excellent! Be prepared to fall in love with the atmosphere of this gem! The sangria was amazing and I love the focus on local products! The service was wonderful, such sweet people!

Love this newly discovered winery! LOTS of Outdoor seating available! Great prices! Wine flights were a great deal at $10 for 9 tastings! Had a cheese board with yummy local cheeses. Beautiful setting both indoors and outdoors! Staff were very friendly and super helpful! The adult "Capri sun" sangria drink pouches were wonderful! Will definitely be back!

Loved it! Very beautiful converted home converted to tasting rooms. We tasted 9 wines very beautifully presented in two flights. Also had a scrumptious cheese board. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Great wines and sangrias. We enjoyed our visit and definitely recommend

My wife's and I favorite place to visit in KY. We love the atmosphere and taking time to relax from the everyday. Nini is an awesome person and truly makes everyone feel welcomed. We can't wait for our next visit every time we leave..

This hidden gem was such a wonderful experience! The outdoor seating area has a beautiful view, the cheese board was amazing, and they were very knowledgeable about the wine. I can't wait to see more selections soon, as I've heard the summer sangrias are wonderful.

Nice local gathering place. They offer outdoor tasting because of the pandemic. Most of the tastings were sangria, not for anybody serious, just a fun afternoon with friends

I love it here! I recently went with a friend to the wine tasting for two. Nini did a great job explaining the wines and the little cheese tray was adorable. When I heard she taught water color classes I knew I had to return for another girls trip. She is a patient teacher and their is no rush to finish your piece. She teaches you techniques rather than telling you what to paint so you're able to be more creative. I highly recommend this experience for a girls weekend.

Excited to try Harkness!

What a great location to spend a leisurely afternoon or hour or two. We had a bottle of wine and relaxed in the front room on the couch for a little while. Nini made this such a wonderful experience. We enjoyed talking with her about the wines and the vineyard and with the other guests too. Their Norton is the best Kentucky Norton I have had. They also started us with a dry white wine that was delicious. I can't wait to go back and visit and learn more! Great graphics on the labels, great presentation in the house / tasting room. I loved this experience!!!

Mimosas

I really enjoyed my visit to Harkness Edwards Vineyards. The entire experience is great. From the walk through the barn to the house where the wine is served, everything is delightful! I met some friends here for the mimosas and brunch boards. I love the way the house is set up. We had our own room to ourselves and felt so comfortable. The mimosas were amazing and so was the food. The only negative thing I need to mention is that as a person with major allergies, I did suffer a bit with sneezing and watery eyes. That is to be expected with an old house. Not sure if they have animals in the house or if something else triggered the reaction. Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Special thanks to the owner (or worker) who went out of her way to get a great picture of me and my friends and for making sure we had a great time.

Keep an eye out for the waterfall on the way to the. Vineyard. It's a very scenic short drive off I-75.

I had the pleasure of attending Harkness Edwards Vineyards wine tasting advertised on Air B&B. Even in late December it was a scenic drive out in the country. And only a short distance from Lexington. Beautiful dry laid stone border walls marking the various farms along the way. And at least one waterfall. We enjoyed both the short drive, our hosts hospitality. The various wines were delicious. And reasonably priced. We will definitely be back this spring for another look.

Cheese board

Love this place!! I went out to the vineyard to do the brunch board and mimosa flight tasting event today and my expectations were far exceeded! Not only is the property gorgeous, but the people are amazing and the food and drink was perfect for a Sunday afternoon! The mimosa portions are generous and the flavors were perfectly seasonal and unique! I typically stay in my downtown square mile, but this is a definite must see and worth the drive. The trip there is so scenic and beautiful. There is seating inside and outside, and the outdoor seating is dog friendly! After finishing out mimosa flights, we decided to split a bottle of wine and it was only $15! Such a deal. I highly recommend checking out the tasting room. The grounds are beautiful for weddings and events as well!

Enjoying the outside!

It truly takes you out of the hustle and bustle of a busy workweek. They have a very nice koi pong outside with a spot to sip wine near by. I side they have a beautiful bar area and many cozy spots for dipping wine and relaxing with a good read. The patio space is also very nice and it was a gorgeous day when we were out there. Now for the wines! I must say I liked every wine I tried. I especially enjoyed a states berry basil wine and a mango wine. They are absolutely perfect for summer and non of the wines are overly sweet which is appreciated. So much all you taste is what was added vs the wine. The owners are a husband and wife team and I couldn't love that more. They truly put their heart and soul into the wine, production, down to the selection of the grapes. The name is a nod to their time in Japan. As them about it! Can't wait to come back on a nice day for another glass. It's a little far out for me but worth the adventure!

The property is gorgeous and sits at a high elevation so it's absolutely beautiful to look out. Definitely worth checking out!

LITERALLY THE BEST!…read more If you are near the area or wanting to even drive a little or you're passing through I can grantee you some great drinks, food and great people! Everyone who works there is the sweetest, very knowledgeable, everyone is on one accord. They have different events, from murder mysteries to live music. Murder mysteries are 4-5 course meal that you can pair wine to, the other food within the pictures is from that event. It's so delicious perfectly paired and made. Pizza and cheese bread is delicious! We have also had the charcuterie boards. Love the chutney they use. The wine is great you can do wine tasting a tour, lots of beautiful outdoors views. Since coming for a year, they continue to expand this place and make it better and better!

We each had wine flights and shared a large charcuterie board. My mom and I had the sweet flights while my daughter had the dry one. It was very busy, but the ordering process was amazing. They recommended the cheeses and that's what we went with. Our wine flights were ready after we paid and shortly after our board came. I found a favorite sweet as did my daughter on the dry. It was a wonderful experience. I noticed they offer trivia and concerts now too. It is definitely worth checking out!

Defined by elegant and…read morestylish classicalism, yet not overbearing, This place has an air of sophistication without pretension. The grounds are beautiful and expansive, stretched out under a big beautiful sky. Parking is ample. I attended with my wife and my son and his wife. We came to see a friend perform live jazz. We did a wine tasting. I was disappointed that the tasting only consisted of three offerings. It seemed a little shy for the price point. After the tasting, we settled on Afterglow, a very sweet wine. The four of us enjoyed our purchase while we sat at a picnic table in the courtyard and enjoyed the jazz. The wine prices themselves were very reasonable and the selection was robust. This proved to be a great place to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. We will be back. This place gets five stars from me. (Still wish a tasting was four or five offerings instead of three.)

The scenery, atmosphere, and overall property create a relaxing environment that feels very "Kentucky wine country." The staff was also incredibly friendly, welcoming, and wonderful with families and kids. The gift shop and tasting space itself functionally was not laid out in a way that made the experience especially easy or comfortable to enjoy. For those of you interested in tastings, there is nowhere comfortable to sit during the tasting process, unless you want to trade into plastic cups and head outside. This unintentionally created a rushed feeling, even though the staff themselves never pressured us. As for the wines, I tried the Cabernet Sauvignon, Equestrian Series, and Crimson Cabernet. I personally tend to lean towards drier, more robust wines, these felt fairly lackluster overall and lacked the depth and balance I personally look for in a wine that can either stand confidently on its own or pair beautifully with food. A few of the sweeter wines others in my group sampled came across far more grape-forward than expected and reminded me more of juice than a refined wine experience. (My overall impression was they paired more with $10 bottles than the prices that were asked) While the staff was clearly well-intentioned and friendly, the overall tasting experience lacked some of the seriousness, polish, and professionalism that you would expect from a true leader in the wine space. We had to request that glasses be emptied and cleaned between tastings, water was never offered between pours, and some of the finer details that elevate a winery experience simply felt overlooked. That said, this place has a lot of potential. Between the scenery, atmosphere, and welcoming team, I could absolutely see why Talon Winery would become a favorite spot for locals or visitors looking for a casual afternoon outing. However, for those looking for a polished, elevated "Napa-style" wine experience, this may not quite be the home run I had hoped it would be.

Bar far some of the best wine I've ever had. My wife and I love door county winery in Wisconsin and really enjoy the sweeter fruit wines. However the wines here are so much better than those offered at door county. To start the Kentucky diamond is sweet yet light and refreshing. The red dog is amazing if you like red wine and want something a little different. It's slightly sweet yet has an oak finish almost resembles a tawny or a Porto but with a much lighter finish and not nearly as rich and sweet. The blackberry wine was phenomenal it's not to strong and doesn't taste to much like alcohol it has just the right amount of blackberry and is a much smoother finish than the door country blackberry wine. The cherry cordial is also quite phenomenal it has just the right amount of cherry with a brilliant chocolate finish yet it's not to sweet. I didn't find any wine here I didn't enjoy. It's a shame that the wine they make can only be bought here locally at the winery. Well worth the trip from Wisconsin to Kentucky just to buy a few bottles of this wine. By far one of my favorite wineries that seems to be hidden in the middle of the mountains. Even the history of this winery is quite interesting with ties back to Thomas Jefferson and Daniel Boone can't say enough great things about this winery or the people who own it. We will definitely be visiting again soon.
