Logic would dictate that a quiet night would mean a quick, attentive visit...but that pesky trauma case that arrives simultaneously can certainly kick that plan on down the road awhile. Which it did. I certainly hope the patient is doing better today, but his visit certainly taxed the ER'S staff on this night. 5 hours later, my son and I were back in the car. That said, I have no doubt to as to the quality of are we received. The receptionist and intake nurse were kind, the technician was great, and the doctor was appropriately apologetic, and did a fine assessment of my son's injury. He gave the scans I felt necessary, answered questions well, and had a good bedside manner with my 10 year old. The facility-from what I saw of it - appeared clean and fairly modern. I have no reservations in going there again, but truth be told, when I'm in the area on vacation again, I hope I don't have the privilege of visiting this fine establishment again. He had a variety of symptoms that favored a stroke. The ER doctor ordered lab tests and a CT scan of his head. My brother received 2 doses of IV medication and 1 pill. His blood pressure was still 170/110. The dr discharged him home with more pills and told us his tests had all been negative. Today, my brother went to a local clinic for a follow-up appointment. The DR. there told him that the CT scan showed he had had a stroke at some point. He also said that the ER doctor had documented that my brother had refused to be admitted for treatment of the high blood pressure. That is a lie. I am a nurse at a larger hospital system, and I was at the ER with him. The doctor never mentioned a word about admitting him or even transferring him for further testing. If he had, I would have made him stay (and he would have listened). The ER doctor lied, and this is not right. People, be careful, advocate for yourself. This place is awful.

When the EKG test was done, PA Carla Sine immediately ordered an ambulance, which was there in minutes and took me to Winchester Medical Center. Turned out I was not having the heart attack they feared MIGHT be happening, but atrial flutter, still a very serious condition. (The testing at EZCare also revealed I had Lyme disease, which may have caused the heart issue.) Thanks to Carla, Crystal, Brittany, and the whole staff, starting at the front desk. Hardy County is fortunate to have such a wonderful acute care resource in EZCare. Thanks also to the ambulance team of John Rice and Hunter -- they were just terrific!

They have valet parking tours can use but I dont like having to do that I dont want strangers driving my ride around. So you have to park pretty far away if you dont have an early morning appointment because all the spots will be taken. I do like the guest wifi internet, and I think one best thing here in the food area is the sandwich station, or the breakfast stuff (the ham and cheese omelet with extra cheese is really good.) Overall, I think it's a good place for everyday medical services. It's not the "nicest" facility, but I've seen far worse in my day. A solid three stars for this spot.
