He kept asking if the air was cold I had to repeat myself more than once that it was barely cool. His answer to this problem is use ceiling fans and box fan to sleep. For 800.00 for 5 nights the air should be cold at least. It also says there are beach chairs..umbrellas and a wagon for the beach. Everything is so rusted I'd be scared to use it. There is also 1 towel for 2 people. I'm Not sure how this place got 5 stars unless it was family or friends giving the reviews or someone getting paid to write them, because this place isn't a 5 star place to stay. It was prepared quickly so I didn't have a lot of time to look around but the coffee shop seemed like a very cute and intimate place to gather for coffee, tea and conversation. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is that the counter staff person didn't seem all that interested in greeting me and said barely four words to me. Had she been more personable and welcoming, this definitely would have been a 5-star review.

It made cooking my own meals incredibly convenient, especially since the grocery store is less than a 3-minute bike ride away! The amenities are fantastic; the pool was pristine, kept at the perfect temperature, and I happily spent many days relaxing out there. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the staff. The employees are so grateful, helpful, kind, and caring--it's obvious they genuinely love their jobs. A huge shoutout to Nicole, Dianna, and Christine for their wonderful hospitality! We had a brief misunderstanding about the length of our stay (just one night, but next time much longer), immediately resolved by Joe. A day or so before our visit, we got a detailed text describing the check-in process. The day of our visit, we got another text when the room was ready (about an hour before regular check-in). We were on a NWR drive-through at the time, and made it to Tarpon Tale within a half hour or so. When we got there, Joe met us, helped with our luggage, and then gave us a tour of the facility, directions to the beach, pulled out a beach chair for us, and introduced us to the happy little Tokay Gecko on the fence. He pointed out the ice cream parlor and restaurant across the street, and the coffee and bagel place next door. We got a room with a very nice queen bed, a small but well-provisioned kitchen, and a modern bathroom. We elected to have dinner at Gramma Dot's (at the marina nearby) and ice cream across the street. We slept very well in the quiet of a Sanibel evening, and checked out the next morning for another loop through the National Wildlife Refuge and to continue on our way to Orlando.

We could've used more cooking utensils as we did a lot of cooking/grilling. AND there was only one grill for the whole Inn! I'm not sure if it happens often, but we had scheduling conflict with another guest who wanted to use the grill at the same time we did! We worked it out but it was awkward to have to decide who goes first. I would recommend they get at least one more! Connie the owner, lives at the Inn and was available to answer all questions and was very kind. We DID find it a little strange that she asked us not to bring guests onto the property since the Inn was completely booked but since we only had a couple who are Ft Myers natives stop by she said that would be fine. The bathroom had signs of mold and mildew, corners of the bathroom were deteriorated due to moisture and soft and plaster was falling. The actual shower had a mix of grout that had broken off and sand from a prior guest. Every morning, I'd be greeted with a roach in the common area/kitchen. I can understand being close to the beach and pests can be an issue but over a short weekend stay, it was about 5-6 roaches that I had to dispose of. Location was amazing but the actual inn was disappointing.
