A couple of weeks ago, I woke up with my left arm and shoulder aching. It got worse and much of my left arm was numb. I loaded up on pain relievers/anti-inflammatories by day and Ambien & Valium at night just to get to sleep. I have to say that I had a feeling my experience with Emily at Harmony and Health was going to be a good one when she sat me down and thoroughly asked me questions about my health and current troubled area. This is something I always look for and hardly ever get when I go in for a therapy. I went in with a debilitating pain in my sciatic nerve, to the point that I could hardly walk without stopping every few feet hunched over. The first day of acupuncture and fire cupping seemed to provide some relief but the real effect happened the morning after -I normally felt at least some pulling sensation and tingling in my leg on my way to the bathroom. And this particular morning, NOTHING. I had scheduled another acupuncture treatment with Emily the day before so i started to head over. I thought "maybe I'll walk over" but as I started to walk the pain started again,(although not as bad as previous days)so as I read with sciatic nerve pain- if it hurts, stop doing whatever makes it hurt. So I took an Uber. Emily began asking me questions again about how, what and where I felt whatever discomfort I had. Based on my answers is where she focused placing the needles. It's now been 2 days and I've felt zero pain!! I feel words aren't enough to express my gratitude toward Emily. She gave me back my mobility and for that i will be forever grateful!! I have been seeing Dr. Ann Rea for just over 4 months and I don't know if I will be able to properly articulate how grateful I truly am. This was my first experience with Acupuncture and cupping, and I was definitely hesitant into believing it was going to make any sort of a difference at all. I couldn't have been more wrong, and I am so pleased that I tried. For over a year and a half I have been suffering with some sort of back pain that was so debilitating it was keeping me from working. On top of that I have been suffering from interstitial cystitis for close to 20 years. It took a very long time for me to even get diagnosed, let alone any help. Most doctors told me the same thing over and over again; that there is no cure and that there is no treatment. On top of those things I also suffer from ovarian cysts that rupture, painful periods, undiagnosed stomach issues, and a whole mess of anxiety. When I showed up in their office for my consultation I feel like I was beyond defeated. My body was in pain and my heart and mind had almost given up. Dr. Ann sat with me for an over an hour going over every tiny detail of my pains, my previous diagnosis, treatments I've tried, my diet, my daily life, and absolutely everything I could think of. It was amazing to finally sit down with a doctor and have her actually listen to me. To have her listen to me and BELIEVE me that what I was experiencing was real. Time and time again women's issues are completely disregarded and I was really feeling the effect of that mentally. Dr. Ann changed all that. Each appointment when I go in she goes over everything that's happened since the last time that I saw her. She treats me, my body, and mind. Flash forward 4 1/2 months later, and I am almost entirely pain-free. There are days where I still don't believe it. It seems to good to be true to feel completely normal again. However, it's real, and I am proof. I don't think I can say enough positive things about Dr. Ann and Emily. If you are having any issues, particularly woman's issues, this is where you need to go. Such a great experience here. I had some pain in my back. I could not sleep or lay down. It hurt to cough or sneeze. After my first session I was able to sleep that night and felt so much better.
