Because Mellicia knows me, my style, and what I like, we don't have to start over each time I reach out. She's helped me over the years refine what we started together back in 2014 - sometimes my priorities or budget is different, sometimes my size and situation is different, but she gets it - she knows that that's how life is - and is always helpful AND supportive as she gives me these bursts of inspiration and guidance. Over the years, I've gone back for updated wishlists, closet edits (I choose to have her help me configure new outfits with what's in my closet in that moment - it's been so helpful to have a gallery of options on my camera roll for busy mornings) or the occasional one-off help with something specific for an event. All of these combined services that I can choose from takes the overwhelm out - it's like a menu of services that can be curated. Choosing from those services helps me cut through the noise and create options that just work for whatever situation I find myself in that feel and work just for ME, not just what's trending - and that's always been so important because I value my personal style, that she's helped me find! I've also really loved being part of her online community (Continuum) this past year - I'm so glad I've got access to this group, which is basically a wonderful community of women who share shopping and styling ideas, inspiration, gift ideas, tips and tricks - there are even moments to connect monthly live - as we put the tools and guidance that Mellicia has taught us all into practice with each other - it's like a force multiplier! It's been quite unexpected how valuable it's been. What I think I appreciate most - is that working with Poplin has never felt like just a one-time styling service, which is what I've experienced before with other stylists. Working with Mellicia feels like a genuine relationship - honestly, I can go a couple of years without checking in, and then come back for a little refresh, and we just pick up where we left off - like an old friend that gets you! Mellicia always meets me in the moment I'm in with zero judgment - and I'm so grateful. Looking back, this investment over the years in ME has been soooo worth it! She introduced me to new brands and had me in colors/patterns/fits that I wouldn't buy myself (which was one of my goals we had discussed), and let me tell you...I have received SO many compliments on my new outfits!! The first thing she did was meet with me for about an hour to review my tastes, what I like what I want to change, etc. She diligently took notes about my preferences and her thoughts on her approach to helping me "take it up a notch". We are friends, so she knew about my personality and how my current clothes worked into that. She also had a sense of how she could start me off in more stylish direction without going out of my comfort zone. At our next meeting she went through my closet, item by item. Items that were not in line with our direction, she tastefully explained why they should be taken out of my wardrobe- how the cut wasn't right for me, how some fabrics were better quality than others and if the style was outdated. On the other side, she explained why things we kept worked well; cut, color, fabric, texture and style. It was eye opening to say the least. My own personal image consultant! We were not done. Her next step was to send me closet notes which outlined what she noticed about my closet and clothes and my needs by season. Next we set-up an appointment to shop! My favorite part! Part of her service is to play personal shopper. She shopped ahead of me, pulling items at stores within my tastes and budget. Then I met her at Anthropologie where the shopping began. We visited Nordstrom and Diesel as well. In each store she explained why she choose the items, what she was trying to accomplish with each piece and how it fit on me (most were spot on, a few didn't work- she immediately noticed any item that wasn't good and had me remove them). My "problem" area were my hips and booty- she picked great jeans for me (Jo Jeans for my booty). It was fun! We also had another shopping trip for shoes. I've never shopped that far in advance for fall/winter- and cannot wait to wear all the great clothes we picked. or our next shopping trip! I have worked with her three times now--twice for professional wear, and most recently for the biggest occasion yet: finding my wedding dress. Tannya is an absolute pleasure to work with. Throughout the entire process, she makes sure you feel confident, beautiful, and fully supported. She is honest, sweet, and simply the best! We went shopping at secondhand stores to hunt for my wedding look, and her eye for hidden gems is unmatched. I previously worked with Tannya's company and had a terrific engagement, which is why I returned several years later. Unfortunately, this time was the complete opposite and, honestly, pretty shocking given my past experience. What followed was a series of breakdowns. I booked the service in September 2025 and, since then, have been unable to complete even the first of two sessions. Over that time: I was passed between three different stylists due to turnover and scheduling changes; appointments were repeatedly rescheduled or mishandled - my most recent appointment was booked incorrectly (wrong service length); a stylist simply did not show up; and basic preparation was lacking, for example, the stylist did not have my address and did not reach out until 30 minutes before the appointment, making it impossible to proceed. Despite significant time spent coordinating across their team and planning my schedule around appointments that never materialized, no service was ever delivered. When I reached out directly to Tannya to request a refund, there was no meaningful attempt to repair the relationship or take accountability, only a partial refund offer justified by "internal coordination and planning." This was a service I hired to make my life easier. It did the opposite. Mistakes happen, but repeated failures, lack of ownership, and charging for a service never delivered is not acceptable. I cannot recommend working with this company based on my experience.

In my case, I must not have portrayed well what I wanted, and they did not pull the correct things. The three hour fashion show of new clothes they pulled for my new look was all wrong. That said, Darcy bent over backwards to adjust their fee and was fully apologetic and workable in recognizing this was a miss. We all wonder when we pay $450 for a service if it will be worthwhile. I can say that in this case, the service did not work for me, but the owner Darcy did.

Second, nearly every garment she bought for me fit well, giving me a huge selection of items to choose from. Third, I appreciated the range of styles she brought. Many were just what I'd asked for, and some pushed my comfort zone a bit. Fourth, she shopped at many stores and avoided that "store mannequin" look. Fifth, she found several beautiful, quality pieces that were on sale, so my final clothing tab was well under our planned budget. Sixth, she was very efficient with the in-home closet audit. We cleared out items that I wasn't wearing or didn't match my syle, and I have new appreciation for the items that I kept. She also gave me great recommendations for how to organize my entire closet, and I'm utilizing the space much better now. I ended up buying 12 pieces across nearly every clothing category. Now, stepping into my closet is a pleasurable, low-stress experience. Maggie was also a fun woman to spend 6 hours with, and I greatly appreciated her hard work, expertise, and companionship through the process. I would definitely work with her again.
