I just received an email saying that she's been added to my care team even though she's not in network. Secondly, to charge my insurance $3,000 for allergy testing is completely insane, I understand prices have gone up but to blatantly price gouge , shame on you. These people only care about one thing and that's money! Dr Xu was not personable, was snappy when I called about lab work she ordered for tests that don't even exist (how are you an allergist and you don't know that these tests you've ordered don't even exist, like there is no lab that provides these tests at all). Shortly before the Xmas holidays I had received a…read morefinal notice threatening that unpaid dues would be reported to collections despite being my first official notice through the mail. This was due to the obvious error of the office not collecting the correct payment at the office, for which all previous payments have been made in full and on time as requested. Upon receipt of the letter, I had made payment and contacted the office by voicemail and online messaging. I have not heard back from the group which generated the appearance that they are only quick to generate threatening letters and not to resolve patient payment issues. I am severely disappointed in their service in that regard. For those interested in pricing (in 2020), one important thing to note and that they have hidden is with SLIT treatment, they will charge $100 per hour for "Rapid Desensitization" which is simply having you sit in a room for an hour while you apply an additional drop. I would highly discourage this unless you have the money and the time. The only aspect that was not opaque in the pricing was for the SLIT bottles which cost $600 for a 3 month supply for two bottles of different allergens. SLIT is not an approved form of treatment in the US so you will pay in full whether for the bottles or just sitting in a room. With this review, I'm sure the office will now reply to address the concerns, but this is a warning to current and future patients that may be interested in the Columbia Allergy clinic organization.

I scheduled what I…read morebelieved would be a straightforward appointment and was never informed about the cost of the visit or any additional testing beforehand. Weeks later, I received a bill for 1,400 for a simple allergy panel. (they billed my insurance $2500) The most frustrating part is that there was absolutely no transparency. If patients are going to be charged hundreds or thousands dollars for testing, consultations, or separate services, that should be explained clearly before anything is done -- not after the fact when the bill shows up unexpectedly. When I reached out about the charges, I felt like I got very little empathy or accountability; Even at one point being told I didn't know how to read bills. Medical offices should understand that people budget for healthcare and deserve to know what they're agreeing to financially before being treated. The billing process completely ruined the experience for me. I would strongly encourage anyone go to a more forthright office. I NEVER WANTED FREE SERVICE, I WANTED HONEST SERVICE, unfortunately I didn't receive that here. I have also submitted a few complaints to the medical board. I've attached my bill to this review.

However, when I tried to schedule a simple Telehealth follow-up to review my results, I was told I'd need to pay $240 cash upfront and then wait for insurance reimbursement. When I pushed back pointing out they're in-network with my insurance plan and asking why they couldn't bill insurance directly, the story changed. First I was told "health plans no longer cover Telehealth visits starting January 1, 2026". I called my insurance company directly, and they confirmed my plan covers Telehealth with no deductible. When I shared this with the office, the explanations for why I couldn't have a simple video call to review results I already received. I ended up canceling altogether. The medical care was fine, but the billing runaround and inconsistent answers made me lose trust in the office. I'd recommend clarifying their Telehealth and billing policies upfront before committing to any treatment plan here.
