I also fell in love with my lesson horse, Stat. I bought him and have boarded him at Boston Hunt and Pace for a year. Stat is a beloved member of my family and I wanted to be at a facility where he would be treated that way. I could not have found a more perfect place for us. Boston Hunt and Pace offers amenities and a level of care that is usually only available at competitive show barns. The stalls are clean, big and airy, with memory foam floors and plenty of fresh bedding. The two barns have heated tack rooms with individual lockers. There are both an indoor and outdoor ring. The bright, window lined indoor arena is one of the nicest I've ever seen (complete with an amazing sound system that is perfect for pretending to do a dressage freestyle when nobody is watching). My horse gets full day turnout and has been happy and healthy the whole time he has lived there. The barn staff are knowledgeable and friendly; they truly care about the horses and riders. Julie continues to teach my lessons and Amy, the resident trainer, does an amazing job improving Stat's fitness and challenging him to learn new skills. The thing that makes this barn unique is that the high end care does not come with high end pressure. It's a family friendly, low key atmosphere. My 4 year old son loves to come play there. You don't need to own a horse. You don't even need to have ever been on a horse before to be welcomed here. There are friendly, well cared for school horses for all levels of riders. Beginners (of all ages) are introduced to the sport in safe and engaging lessons. Experienced riders will never get bored; BHP has plenty of opportunities to challenge them. Unlike many barns that teach only one discipline and confine students to the ring, BHP encourages clients to participate in hunter paces and go on trail rides. This has been a great confidence builder for both me and my horse. They also allow students (if they have enough experience) to use school horses for these activities, which is not common in lesson barns. I come to Boston Hunt and Pace almost every day. Whether I'm there on a summer day riding bareback and hand grazing on the beautiful property or taking a lesson in the indoor in the middle of winter, it is always my favorite place to be.

Cory and Jean possess a high level of integrity unmatched in the horse industry. Together, they strive to help strike the right balance of horse, rider and family. From our first visit to the farm, they made us feel welcome and have provided much guidance and education. Jean's background is routed in a life long passion for horses and a strong business background. She is super organized and detail oriented which I especially appreciate as the person responsible for balancing work and family commitments. Jean sets the horse show schedule a year in advance and even provides detailed estimates for budgeting if you want. The transition to Wellington each winter goes smoothly with horses and riders well taken care of. My daughter has truly grown into a better, more confident rider because of Cory. He is a phenomenal trainer, accomplished rider and role model whose strong work ethic is infectious. He is constantly teaching, incorporating his vast industry knowledge with many life lessons. Goal setting and quarterly meetings are just another example of Cory's thoughtful approach to teaching. He never sends a rider into the ring without being overly prepared. Cory works tirelessly to make sure horse and rider are performing at their absolute best. He also provides direction and advice on everything from navigating the show circuit to the buy versus lease decision. It's no surprise that he is a well sought after trainer. The support staff at NBF is awesome as well. There can't be a better group of grooms anywhere. They take great care of the horses and everyone feels lucky to have them part of the team. Newbury Farm is small by design and a wonderful farm to be a part of. The clientele is a great mix of juniors and adults sharing their love of horses. Cory and Jean give such specialized service, which makes it a truly unique and special place.

Cory and Jean are awesome, and are far from snobs and ditzes. Not only are they great riders, they are great teachers, and are always friendly and easy to talk to. The way Cory teaches is superb- he always gives both praise and criticism, but the critique is never harsh and is expressed positively, and he never becomes frustrated, no matter how many times you have messed up or if you are running out of time. My mom has a horse in training there, and rides frequently, but I've only had a few lessons; yet my riding is already improving, and my ambition and willpower has risen to higher levels thanks to Cory and Jean's pep talks. This is a truly unique barn!

Tommy gets to know all her students and horses quite well; and she's helped me work through some blocks with all three of my horses. She even got me back on my horse who had had me terrified for years after finding out where the communication disconnect was in our relationship. Tommy observes and adjusts her teaching style per student and horse. Whether you are boarding there with your own horse or on one of the school masters. Everyone there, both those who work there and those that just ride there, pays attention to detail and helps make it a great community to be a part of.

I hadn't ridden a horse in years and it felt great to get back into riding. I had no trouble setting up my lessons and the farm responded quickly when I emailed them. My instructor for both lessons was Andrea. She was very knowledgeable and patient. I really enjoyed learning from her.

It might have been good to clarify that before hand when we booked it. It might have been better to reduce the setup time and include a little more riding time. I had somewhat limited interactions with her as she was never my instructor but I was in the ring many times while she was teaching a different lesson. I remember one time when I was scared to canter for the first time and my horse was being bad and Jenn walked up to me and basically yelled at me that I was letting the horse walk all over me ( I was but that's not how to help a scared little kid) and asked me do I even want to ride cause I should just get off. I Told her I was scared to canter and she said I can just walk the rest of my lesson and went back to her side of the ring where her ridders were waiting. I was on the verge of tears. she acted this way with some of the ridders. the whole time I was there it felt like they wanted my to compete and that I wouldn't fit in if I did not. I wish I left much sooner.

My daughter has been going to Rein in a Dream for 4 years now and I'm very surprised no one has…read morereviewed it here. It's possible they want to keep it a hidden gem. We've worked with an array of therapists and group settings to help our daughter with anxiety and her ADHD. From the beginning we started seeing changes in her demeanor and how she communicated. Being with the horses is so therapeutic. They don't judge. They are warm and caring. They provide so many opportunities for growth and interaction. Now in her fourth year she is riding more for recreation, but the element of care and thoughtfulness that the instructors put into these lessons is incredible. We've ridden at other schools and I always return to the quality of care at Rein in a Dream. I very much recommend this for riding needs across the board. We've seen several kiddos and adults attend for physical and occupational therapy as well as our kind of needs. Also, they work very hard to keep prices within reach of the community, which is also a big thumbs up in their favor. Cherie is the Director, a very accommodating and thoughtful person.
