Orchard Hill is a fabulous equestrian facility for horse owners and non owners alike. They are very professional and take excellent care of the horses. There is something for everyone and no pressure to take lessons or conform to anyone's style of riding. The people are great. Adults and kids alike. They have wonderful school horses and trainers and the property can't be beat for turnout, trails and jumping, etc. They have a fantastic summer camp which I always enjoyed being around to see children enjoying and learning all about horses. An absolutely fabulous spot for family blueberry picking! Being from central mass, and meeting…read morepeople from Boston meant we had to find a midway farm and the blue meadow didn't disappoint! On the MA Upik site, it says no kids under 6 years old. This is OLD INFORMATION. (The current owners parents had nets hung that kids used to pull on / parents wouldn't pay attention). However, there are no more nets and no more age restrictions! I called ahead to make sure the 2-yr old picker with us would be welcome- and he was! The Entrance is marked with a homemade Upik sign To distinguish it from the driveway entrance to the horseback riding and stables. When you arrive you're greeted by a small tent where you pick up red buckets fashioned with a string (for convenient around the neck holding and double-fisted berry picking, of course!) Berries are measured by the quart. Notches have been made in the bucket to display the volume picked. They approximate how much you have picked to take home up to the half quart. Blueberries are $4.50 a quart (a steal, most places are $5.70-$6 from why I've seen. I have surmised that this is because the patch sits adjacent to the horseback riding farm part of the property otherwise present.). These prices of course only include the berries to take home, not the ones to be smacked on while picking - as we were reminded while both on our way in and out. Spraying the bushes only occurs as *required* by the State. No additional spraying of the fruit occurs You park a couple hundred feet from the tent, and walk downhill but only another 100-200 feet (it's a little steep, ask to park at the stables of hills are a big issue, I can't imagine they'd mind terribly) down to the blueberry patches. These ~1,200 someodd, 50ish year old plants are present in around four varieties. During this opening week, we found sweet, plump berries as far as the eye could see, and surprisingly few fellow pickers. Is this BC most other farms aren't starting Upik for another week? (I called a bunch ). Definitely put this farm on your list. Farm and Berries are easy to get to, delicious, and well-priced. the view with the horses is beautiful, there's a swingset that I assume visitors can use(?) and nice people run the place! What more can you want?

I wanted a straight-forward, well-kept, non-commercial farm, and you not only get that with Sugar Ridge, but I have also found a family with these ladies and the horses there. The grounds are gorgeous, with plenty of room to ride and options to suit each skillset. It's been amazing to learn more about these gorgeous animals, and it does a world of good just being around them. You can also tell how well-taken care of the horses are just by how affectionate they are with Carin; she does an absolutely incredible job with them and it shows. She is also an amazing instructor, and I couldn't imagine being taught by anyone else. (Nor would I want to!) From the ease of the booking process to the day-of execution, the entire process was 10 stars. Hannah and her team went above and beyond (which I now understand is their standard MO.) They effortlessly managed all of our decor, seemlessly and joyfully wrangled 12+ children (and twice as many extremely excited adults.) The experience was educational and extremely interactive (We decorated mini horses! We held/pet so many incredible animals! The kids rode unicorns!) Even the coloring pages had our daughter's name printed on them. There was not one aspect of the day that felt like an after thought. The attention to detail and the care they show is so amazing. I really can't thank Hannah and her crew enough for hosting (far and away) the best birthday party my daughter has ever had. Core memories were made by all of us.

I have known Tami, for over 25 years. I have leased horses off of her, boarded horses and taken…read morelessons from her. She is extremely knowledgable, and so is her staff. I currently board my 30 year old gelding with her. I have him on full board, and he couldn't get better care, she treats him as if he were her own. There is a heated tack room, with cable TV and a REAL bathroom. It's hard to find barns with those around here. The barn itself offers box stalls, and is in fantastic condition. There are also a few in/out stalls available. The outside is beautifully maintained. The horses all have decent sized individual paddocks, with water spouts and protection from the elements in each one. There is an outside wash stall, a large outside arena with excellent lighting. A newly renovated and large round pen. They offer full board, semi rough, and rough board. All at extremely reasonable prices. They offer clinics, cow sorting and fun shows on property, and travel to all sorts of area shows. I can't say it enough. My horse and I absolutely love it here.

We've worked with an array of therapists and group settings to help our daughter with anxiety and her ADHD. From the beginning we started seeing changes in her demeanor and how she communicated. Being with the horses is so therapeutic. They don't judge. They are warm and caring. They provide so many opportunities for growth and interaction. Now in her fourth year she is riding more for recreation, but the element of care and thoughtfulness that the instructors put into these lessons is incredible. We've ridden at other schools and I always return to the quality of care at Rein in a Dream. I very much recommend this for riding needs across the board. We've seen several kiddos and adults attend for physical and occupational therapy as well as our kind of needs. Also, they work very hard to keep prices within reach of the community, which is also a big thumbs up in their favor. Cherie is the Director, a very accommodating and thoughtful person.
