Just like the one guy on here said: Extremely biopsy happy. He charged me over $4,000 in "surgeries", taking small cuts and sending them to the lab. THIS GUY WANTS YOUR MONEY. Sat and waited for two hours! The staff was miserable. The waiting room is so tiny I had to sit in the floor of the hallway 7 months pregnant! Doctor was ok, but because of the wait and the staff I will never go back. There are plenty of other doctors who are just as good with less of a wait and a more pleasant staff. read more

I make a appointment for mole removel the front desk lady was helpful talk nice over the phone. Upon arrival clean place, doctor took good care of me removed my mole on my face then decided to get laser it did not hurt at all. This doctor is extremely biopsy happy like other reviews said. I think he is somewhat a good dermatologist as he does prescribe medications for my acne that help. However the first time I went to see him he did try to biopsy a spot on my back within 2 minutes of meeting me, without really explaining the procedure. I work in healthcare and I know how well MDs should be explaining procedures before asking for patient consent. Dr. Father definitely does not give patients enough time to understand the details and cost of the procedures he is doing. The other issue I had with him was his bedside manner. I've seen this MD twice and both times he left me in a patient room waiting for 15-20 minutes until he came to see me. He then met with me in a very rushed manner for about 10 min each time. It felt like he barely listened to what I had to say. I will continue to see him because I am satisfied with the acne medication regimen he's prescribed and because that is my main issue I require a dermatologist for. However I would not recommend him if you have more extensive skin problems or if you are looking for a kind bedside manner. read more

I have been swing Dr. Farber for Botox and laser skin rejuvenation. I am very pleased with his knowledge and bedside manner. I plan on getting additional treatments! I waited nearly 45 minutes for my first visit, but, I understand doctors run late at times due to emergencies that come up. This doctor is fantastic! Thank you Dr. Farber, your a wonderful man. Consistently had to wait more than an hour past my appointment time to be seen in an overbooked, stuffy waiting room. At times no chairs were available. Once seen I was rushed through the actual consultation. Once consulted I was misdiagnosed with eczema and then psoriasis when in fact the biopsy revealed a fungal infection. I was given half a dozen different topical medications which just spread the infection. I was treated for weeks with the laser therapy even though the biopsy showed a fungal infection. The office staff didn't bother to tell me that a copay was due for each subsequent treatment. Instead they just sent me a bill. I called a half dozen times to get the situation resolved considering the misdiagnosis and failure to mention a copay and I never received a response. Did I mention I had to ask for my own biopsy results? HORRIBLY run office. CARELESS treatment. Do yourself a favor and see another doctor! read more

I am giving this 4 stars because my wait time the first two visits was longer than I cared for and I considered changing practices while in the waiting room. But once I was treated by Dr Farber and the team, my opinion changed. He took care of my issues and made sure that I was properly covered. He also tries to make sure that prescription medication is covered and provided coupons which severely lowered my cost. He also sent home some eczema balm for my four yr old son whom isn't even a patient. I felt that they were caring and interested in me as a patient. Please DO NOT see Dr. Farber! I had a terrible experience. My initial reason for my visit was to have raised age spots checked on my face. He removed a layer of one to exam it under a microscope. His suggestion was microneedling to improve the appearance of my age spots. He said "Why don't you get it done today since you are here already." I hesitated a little since I never heard of this procedure and didnt even have time to process the potential risks. He never gave me any literature to look over. He said there were no risks or downtime. I decided to have the procedure done. The next day, my skin was very dry and irritated. The following days I started to breakout in hives which resulted in a terrible rash. I called Dr. Farber's office to have my face examined. I waited for 2 hours only for him to tell me I must be suffering from acne. I have never had acne, even as a teenager. He said microneedling would never cause that type of reaction. I suffered for the past 3 weeks with this irritating rash which resulted in an infection. I went to my primary dr in tears because I knew something was wrong. I explained the procedure I had done and what Dr. Farber told me. She said she could tell without getting close that I was not suffering from acne, but an allergic reaction from the microneedling. She was furious and couldn't believe I was treated this way after paying for this procedure. All of this could've been avoided if Dr. Farber actually cared about the well-being of his patients. All he cares about is making the most money for his time. read more

Dr. Farber treats my mother and I could not ask for better care. He is always thorough with his examinations and makes sure she gets the best care possible. I love that he could be booked but will squeeze you in if necessary. I would rather wait in an office that will see me within a week than have to book an appointment a couple of months out and only wait 15 min. The staff here is always so extremely friendly and helpful. Sad that a great office has poor reviews because I really think if you're looking for what's most important, patient care, this office is excellent. read more

My hair started to fall and thin out two years ago. I bought all the products, my hair continued thinning out and I later began seeing bald patches in the middle and frontal areas. I was feeling devastated and depressed and even thinking to cut my sisterlocks of 9 years. I began searching online and later came across a positive review for Dr Farber. They offered me an appointment the next day. When I arrived in his office, I was warmly greeted by his staff and by him. Dr. Farber sympathized with me in regards to my hair loss. He did a patch test in my scalp and discovered that I was diagnosed with eczema in the scalp and alopecia areata. Dr Farber tried several steroid creams in my scalp until my body was able to adjust to one. He advised me to have my hair stylist to retighten my locks very loose and not to dye them. He also put me on monthly steroid injection in my scalp to help my hair grow out. He encouraged me to buy DHS Zinc shampoo. I later developed mild acne in my face. Dr Farber prescribed me a miracle cream that gets rid of my acne in 3 days and makes my face smooth. His friendly secretary never has any problem to give me a fast appt in Philadelphia or Narberth office. Today, I regain confidence in myself because my hair thinness has stopped, my scalp eczema has disappeared and my hair is growing nicely and very fast. I also incorporate Zinc supplement and vitamin B complex in my diet while following Dr Farber dermatological treatments. Words cannot express my gratitude toward him. Dr Farber is very sympathetic and tenuously possesses the knowledge to treat all his patients. He cares a lot for all his patients and invests all his time to treat them. I wish that Dr Farber was my primary care doctor due to his kindness, patience and understanding in treating his patients. I will continue to be treated at his medical facility due to his altruistic compassion for all his patients. He deserves more than 5 stars due to being very attentive, caring, friendly and he is top notch with the latest treatments in dermatology. YJ read more

I went to Dr. Farber because I was having an irritation on my head & legs, also asked if he would remove a mole on my head that recently grew. First visit he scrape the irritation on my head and sliced the mole off my head and sent them away for testing, I was called back to discuss the results, I get their & he said more testing is needed. He started biopsying moles and at one point small pimples on my legs. Every time I went I asked him what were the findings and he kept saying 'we have to do more tests so I can put it all together, it is like a puzzle.' After a few months of going every 2wks I walked away with biopsy scars all over my back & arm. The last straw was when he started biopsying previous biopsy spots. I decide to see another & 1st visit (no biopsies) she diagnose me with vitiligo, rosacea & sensitive skin. When she seen the scars on my body she asked me about them & without saying any names she knew exactly who I was previously seen. I wonder how many he has done this to? The kicker is 2yrs later he still has his staff call me to say 'we need you to come in to do more testing' He also was extremely late for my appointments I would schedule them for 10:00a and I would not get called back to the room until 12:00pm and then sat in the room waiting for him to come in for another 45mins. It got so bad that since I went every two weeks the receptionist would feel bad for me, she would have me call before I came in for my appointment and the receptionist would sign me it and tell me to call back in an hour to see if Dr. Farber even made it in yet. And when I would be called back I would see him talk to drug reps and he would still have me waiting. read more

The worst , unethical Dr. He left scarring on my leg and back for biopsy , that where not necessary, wants the patient to come on a monthly schedule to do more?..I also did a cosmetic procedure $$$$800 that I waited 2 hrs and the procedure( laser) took 1/2 sec no prep or sanitize area or even cover my hair. No results , I'm not even sure he did any thing , claims each patient has different results, need to do more treatments . I am embarrass , and have not told any family members yet!! Don't get fooled by other reviews here. I visited his location at zip-code 19115 and over the course of five visits my experience was very bad. I would not recommend him to anyone I know. Here are the reasons for my opinion: The location is very cramped, dirty, and unwelcoming. If you pay cash you will overpay for what is being done. If you get tired of your wait and start looking around the appointment room you will notice that the seats where procedures are done has dirty stains on it, and the tools themselves are old and have some kind of residue on them. The staff is patronizing and if you get tired of waiting 30 minutes and ask for their help, they won't do anything. His answers are vague, so you come out pretty much knowing as much as you knew when you entered. He will try to do unnecessary procedures which will cost you money. I ended up wasting over $1,000 on an issue that he didn't even help to solve. He will not call and check up on his patients, so if you have a problem you have to call yourself and talk to the phone operator!I then turned to another dermatologists, who knew what he was doing and wasn't just up for taking my money. i had laser treatment for the removal of a birthmark starting in november 2014 and ending in march 2015.dr farber told me it would take one treatment for the removal of the birthmark but later said it could take up to three treatments.after the fifth or sixth treatment i asked him how much longer it would take to remove the birthmark,he said a couple more treatments.i had nine treatments and my birthmark is still the same as the first time i went for treatment.i spent almost $3000:00. i could not sleep at night if i did this to someone.i spent up to three hours for each visit.i will never trust what another doctor tells me ever again. read more
