Then, for the last two weeks, Wombat and I got into a real toxic relationship with the onboard "good vibes" system. We went to Mercedes twice. Same story both times: a bunch of charging, a bunch of "we'll look into it," and absolutely no real solution--just money leaving the building at warp speed. So I convinced my hubby: "No more Mercedes." He agreed, and we went private. He found Quinn at European Performance. Quinn promised us a diagnostic on the DEF for free--which, naturally, my husband grabbed like it was a limited-edition coupon that might disappear. Mercedes in Billings wanted 2.5 times what everyone else was charging, so even the savings felt emotional. We pulled in, and before I could finish my seatbelt rant, Quinn had Wombat backed out and connected up. He ran diagnostics fast--like, "where did the time go?" fast. And here's the plot twist: the problem wasn't some rare unicorn issue. It was stuff that's extremely common on the Sprinter chassis... the kind that apparently no one can find or fix consistently. Fun, right? Quinn worked some magic, we got it sorted, and now Wombat is back to being the road-loving weirdo we know and love--no more drama, no more countdown, no more mystery warnings. So if your Sprinter chassis is throwing a fit go see Quinn. He'll get you back on the road without the repeat crash-and-paycycle. Wombat says thank you. And honestly? So do we.

Unfortunately, I have to say something because wow... I have taken my car in to these guys and they have done a good job fixing the things that I have paid for them to replace. However; here's the upsetting part... I took my car into them 3 times in a row telling them "it's running funny", "it's acting weird", etc. I also give them a little info... "while I was out of town I changed the spark plugs myself. You might want to start there, in case I did something wrong as I am not certified but they are. They assured me it wasn't the problem. They even said "It was driving fine, no issue." and to "keep driving it around until something popped up on the dashboard". Love that for me. Even told me that it "sounds" like and is "probably" a piston ring which would be a $8,000 fix. Went on a 1,000 mile (one way) road trip it almost gave out 35 miles before the destination. Thank you to new friends, I knew someone to help me. 15 minutes later... he SHOWED me that I, in fact, had forgotten to tighten my spark plugs. Also, thank you to my friends... even after pushing the car as much as I had... with a little bit of cleaning and proper putting it back together... compression test was perfect and she was running like normal. Beats $8,000 motor replacement... just saying.

Maybe it really was defective but after my claim got lost and had to jump through hoops its hard to belive that nonsense. Since we are full time rv-ers we don't stay long at places so it is hard to find service who can help right away. They looked at our brakes right away and helped us buy the parts somewhere else in order expedite the process and the next day they changed out our trailer and truck brakes in a couple of hours. We had an RV that needed some complicated repairs/replacement to our solar system so we ended up spending a good amount of time here at Metra while our RV was being worked on. Absolutely everyone from every department was so kind and accommodating to us and our dog that it was actually a bit sad when it came time to leave our new Metra family. As nice as it is to have a friendly RV service center what owners really care about is the quality of the work being performed. Once again I wish I could give more than 5 stars for the service that we received. Blake has to be the most knowledgeable RV repair people that we have encountered, and, just like all the other people at Metra, he is super nice and easy to talk to. He explained everything that was done in terms that we could actually understand. Blake also had the foresight to build in a circuit breaker so that we would not have to climb under our low clearance rig to have to find the very elusive solar fuse. Thanks Metra RV Center, wish you were closer to where we live, we would love to have a RV service center as good as yours close by.

I contacted Metra RV to get help and guidance on what I needed to do because this was a manufacturers defect. Immediately Metra RV was accusatory to my installer and to me. Not once did I place blame on Metra rv and I knew that this was going to be a manufacturers defect but instead of working with me at the beginning , It was, how can we not help and put blame on everybody else? I had to tell them That this is manufacturer defect but they way they are coming off it feels as if it's me against Metra, but it should be me and metra against the manufacture. They have contacted the manufacturer for me, so I'm hoping I can get this issue resolved, and they have apologize for the way they came off in the beginning, but it wasn't apology That didn't feel sincere. And the whole conversation was still how can we get out of this and not help and push her onto someone else? Reed even decided to refer to me as a kid saying "sorry kid". I have a soft voice but I am not a kid I thought that Metra RV was good at first and of course they are always good whenever you are paying money but as soon as something goes wrong, they want to be completely hands off. Please save yourself the trouble in case you have any issues with your parts and use a different RV dealership.
