Eight months after I dropped my truck off, they finally got it back to me ... horrible customer service, poor communication, inability to admit their mistakes and eventually never resolved major issues with my truck. They were simply unable to complete the work on time and charged excessive prices for poor service. This should be their theme song: "We put the ill in willard's, we'll put the dill in you, don't for get to pick up your wallet, you'll sit fine in a week or two." My guess is that if they know the rig, if it's a newer model with familiar issues, they can fix it. If you have special needs, they'll pretend they know it all and put you on the back shelf until you scream loud enough to get them to respond. There's no shame in being ignorant unless you pretend otherwise. Shameful experience with them. read more

We were passing through town in our in our RV and had transmission problems. No one else could fit us for four days. Other shops recommended Willards. They fit us in on the 1st day and diagnosed the problem . Unfortunately it was a new transmission which I agree. They worked diligently and quickly to install the new transmission so we could continue on our trip. Very honest and upfront. Would highly recommend them read more

Willard's Garage in Billings put new links on my sway bar and fixed my air conditioner motor for $405.22, but now I can't drive the Ford Explorer at all. The tire on the driver's front side is loose and wobbly. My battery was also run down and my car was left in the parking lot next to them unlocked. Willard's said that my car was having new problems because it was old and had a lot of miles on it. Then they told me that by fixing the sway bar links it caused the car to be worse than when I brought it in. He was rude and even made me cry. He asked if I wanted him to take the links off and give me the $38.84 back for the part. I want to be able to drive my vehicle like I could before they worked on it. He even said, "Well at least the air works, right"...if I can't drive the vehicle, it does not matter if the air works or not. If I had been a man, they would have never spoke to me in such a condescending manner simply because I asked them to fix what they had obviously failed to do correctly in the first place. Willard's was very kind and accommodating until I handed them $405.22 in cash and asked them to fix their mistakes. These are not honest people. read more

I've had several vehicles serviced at Willard's Garage. I think their team has amazing talent. I recently had three lug nuts break off at a popular local garage (due likely to my over tightening of them at the prior tire rotation). The popular garage suggested I visit a "better equipped" garage down the street. Their expert team determined the only answer was to cut my aftermarket wheel apart. Willard's Garage was able to remove what was left of the broken lug nuts, replace the wheel studs, and save my wheel. Willard's Garage can do what their competitors can't. read more

Brought my 2009 Nissan Altima into Willards for some AC work after moving to Montana. I am pretty good mechanically and had already done some troubleshooting of my own. I noticed that the compressor clutch was not engaging and that the the low side refrigerant was extremely high (which to me said that the system was blocked) I told Willard about this at the time I dropped the car off at his shop. Willard proceeded to imply that I shouldn't even attempt to trouble shoot my own vehicle; this is best left to the "professional mechanics" that worked at his shop. He quickly disregarded my findings and assured me that he would call once they found out what the problem was. Willard called later that day and said the compressor was bad and needed to be replaced, I approved the repair and payed him $900 expecting the problem to be fixed. Unfortunately only a couple of miles down the road my AC was STILL blowing hot. I returned to Willards a little aggravated, yet again Willard assured me the problem would be taken care of. Two days later I returned to pick up my car, Willard informed me that they had not properly tightened a fitting and all the refrigerant had leaked out of the system. This time it was fixed for sure Willard stated, Unfortunately for me I was greeted with my AC bowing hot AGAIN. I returned to Willards YET AGAIN to be greeted by the mechanic that had performed the faulty repairs on my vehicle. He seemed stumped that the problem had not been fixed to which I told him about my original troubleshooting and asked about the condenser. He said "oh really?" We then walked out to the car and after looking at the condenser he said "yep it's smashed". I WAS FURIOUS! After fixing the condenser I was out a total of $1500 and I had diagnosed the problem better than Willards "professional mechanics". AC worked for a total of 2 weeks and went out again. Willards wanted to charge me $475 for a leaking hose that they caused and would not stand by their mistake. Needless to say I will not be returning to this scam shop and I would strongly urge you to not waste your time and money at Willards. read more

I knew that I would be in Billings on a particular date with a small para-transit bus and would have limited time to have a wheelchair lift repaired and adjusted. I set up the appointment two days in advance and when I arrived they were expecting me and got right on my vehicle. I waited in the comfortable waiting area that had a good variety of reading material. The work took two hours, about what I expected, and the tech took me out to show me what he had done, which I appreciated. read more

I don't believe that Willard's mechanics can be trusted. After several simple oil changes for my RV, I asked them to check the hoses and belts at my next visit. When I picked up my vehicle I was assured that the hoses and belts were fine. After I got home and noticed a slight oil leak I discovered that the drip was coming from spilled oil on the belly pan. The problem is that to check the hoses and belts the pan has to be removed. The only way to spill oil on the pan is if the pan wasn't removed before the oil drained, and hence the hoses could not have been seen and their condition report was fabricated. read more

Horrible communication and over charging on everything. I was told they would "look" at my subaru and an hour later charged $140.00 along with a $3,000 estimate. After I found someone else to do the work for half the price, Jack was rude and told me he didn't believe that I found someone else to do it for that price. I would never recommend this business. Worst customer service ever! My husband took his truck in to have them fix it and they said that two things were wrong but it would be better to replace the whole transmission for $3200 instead of just fix the two seals. So we decided to look else where to have it fixed and found that Hansers would replace the transmision for only $1900. So my husband went to pick it up to day and they killed the battery and refused to charge it. Jake has been rude to my husband multiple times. read more
