I let the clerk know and she looked at me and said sorry, No refunds. I said you have got to be kidding me just give me the $10 back and cancel the transaction. She said it was against their policy. She did say I could exchange it, but it was the last sweatshirt like this so not really an option I wanted. I should also mention that the same owner owns Scrimshaw and I was told to go talk to the manager over there. She literally laughed at me! Neither location was willing to go in the back to check for another one like the one I had so I ended up exchanging for a sweatshirt I didn't even want!

The one I bought and is featured here as a photo, has been worn and washed 3 or 4 times already and it's a winner. It's made to appear weathered, as you might expect from a seafaring location. No clue if their happy hour is or is not , as claimed, legendary. Wished I'd had the time to find out. It's worth the $28.95 price. Other stores will have cheaper ones if that's a budget issue. As others said, this is a must stop, if you want a local souvenir T-Shirt. No other shops really can match the variety and fun shirts featured here. And the staff was very accommodating, as I went through checking out and trying several shirts before deciding on size, image, and color. The shop is centrally located in this busy tourist area of the Thames Street wharf district. It's right near the Pepper Palace that I also have reviewed.

The shirt he bought me was a collab design. The proceeds of the sales would go to animal shelters. When he bought the shirt, the girl behind the counter said that the sets had just come into stock and were brand new. I love the fabric material and wear it when walking outside or at the gym. Inside, they have all kinds of Black Dog gear for men and women. Shirts, hats, sweatshirts, collars and leashes for your pup and plenty of other stuff. The staff was friendly. I recommend the white custom Newport long-sleeve shirt. It looks great, feels like a real souvenir, and is something I will actually wear instead of throwing into a drawer with old vacation magnets.
