We happened to park near Frazzleberries, which I'd consider a more upscale souvenir shop. They have lots of high-quality goods -- gifts, magnets, clothing, etc. I was looking at a different shirt when a friend pointed out one that was SUPER soft. I tried it on and was immediately sold. The fit, the material, all great, and at a reasonable price. I want to say $35? I also bought a very nice Newport magnet at the checkout counter. A very successful visit!

It's not Walmart pricing because it's not Walmart quality. It's quite superior. But the prices are not that high. Example about $35 to$65 roughly for a pair of good quality pants(Carhart).I started shopping here because I got a far greater value for my money than buying new pants at Walmart every 3 months. I have pants that have lasted over a year and boots that are on their 3rd year (chippaewas). They have good sales from time to time. I am rough on my clothes as I am a carpenter. The best part is I really feel good supporting a local , family owned business.

The wharf has it's own website, and each business located there has it's own page where they can share their contact information and a bit about what they offer. I nearly choked when I read the the description of Custom Canvas, describing itself as "distinguished" for its "outstanding customer service." Outstandingly bad, maybe. Every year, I try to give this place the benefit of the doubt. They usually have some cute things visible in the window, selling primarily cloth bags and home decor. So I go in, browse a bit, and end up watching some train wreck go down between staff and the customers. (Keep in mind that this store is the size of a shed or small garage, so it's hard to miss.) I have witnessed customers being called stupid, blind, and lazy for asking simple questions. I've heard staff call a customer ugly. Then I feel annoyed for even considering giving them my business. This past summer, a female employee was standing beside the register, loudly complaining and making insulting remarks about customers still in the store. An older male friend of this employee was slouched over, leaned against a shelf next to her, and INCREDIBLY he told her himself to knock it off. You know you're being obnoxious if a friend is telling you to chill out. I watched that particular incident unfold from beginning to end, and it disgusted me to the point that I had to walk out of the store. The main perpetrator of the bad behavior seems to be the same employee, which, given that it's happened years in a row, leads me to believe it may actually be an owner or general manager, which is slightly horrifying. (For anyone curious, it's a blonde-haired female.) If a business gets stuck with a bad seasonal employee, I feel for them...but if this is the behavior of anyone other than a seasonal employee, I am literally baffled as to how this place has stayed open for so many years.

Only difference is that some stores may have more products of bottle openers than others. We brought a bottle opener of rhode island here. Store was organized. Paid via credit card and went on our merry way!

Buyers BEWARE!!! I purchased a sweatshirt from the Tourist Trap (perfect name!) with Cash. As the…read moreclerk was checking me out, I was putting the sweatshirt in a bag and I noticed the sweatshirt had a huge hole right in the front! I let the clerk know and she looked at me and said sorry, No refunds. I said you have got to be kidding me just give me the $10 back and cancel the transaction. She said it was against their policy. She did say I could exchange it, but it was the last sweatshirt like this so not really an option I wanted. I should also mention that the same owner owns Scrimshaw and I was told to go talk to the manager over there. She literally laughed at me! Neither location was willing to go in the back to check for another one like the one I had so I ended up exchanging for a sweatshirt I didn't even want!

Not a great amount of trucks/hardware but good enough it seemed. Also has clothes, sunglasses and hats etc but I didn't really check them out too much. Prices were reasonable, my son bought a pair of Vans Half Cabs for $65. Name brand decks are $50-55, shop boards $40. There are also some longboards for anyone who cares as well as surfboards and etc upstairs and even more across the street. Its the closest shop to the first beach skatepark, which seems to be one of the only parks around. Prices and selection are good and i would recommend it.
