She spent 5 minutes with me before she was ready to send me on my way and then maybe an extra 2-3 minutes after I told her I felt dismissed and said you didn't even ask me if I have other symptoms. She said ok do you have other symptoms? I listed maybe 3/25 symptoms I have and she said "ok? You're just listing a bunch of unrelated symptoms." So be sure to know neurology and whether all your symptoms are related or she will gaslight you and try to make you feel stupid for not knowing. There was zero empathy for what I'm going through, she just wanted me to get out of her office asap. I said what about functional movement disorder? She said "do you even know what that is?" And made me define it for her. Awful horrible experience from any doctor I've ever seen, I left crying. So she said my constant nonstop rhythmic involuntary full body movements are just anxiety. There are so many other ways she could have phrased things or explained better as to not come off so dismissive and rude. I left there with literally nothing. I will be recording all my dr visits from now on solely because of Harpreet Sandhu.

This review is similar to, but not quite the same as, the review I wrote for Medical Neurology…read more Medical Neurology is the name of the practice of Epstein, Bliklen, and.. some other people. Kumar? Hussein? I've only seen Epstein. The practice seems pretty busy; I'm surprised no one else has reviewed it. Anyhow, I've had migraines since I was 12, and have seen half a dozen neurologists across the country. Dr. Epstein is the best, and my favorite. He honestly cares about his patients... but sometimes he shows it in nontraditional ways. I'm giving Dr. Epstein a good review because he helped me fix my migraine drug regimen. That didn't just involve throwing drugs at me: I also had to figure out which foods and triggered my headaches, and fix my sleep patterns. Initially, I wasn't thrilled with his action plan. It certainly wasn't an instant cure, but I feel better than ever, and I'm not overmedicated. The reviews on various sites that complain about his 'bedside manner' make me laugh. Yes, he's abrupt. His sense of humor's a little off. He thinks up some pretty bad jokes sometimes, so if you get offended super easily, or if you can't deal with political incorrectness... this might not be the neurologist for you. There are plenty of doctors who will listen to you whine, throw you some painkillers, and coo, 'come back in a month.' Dr. Epstein will be the one to tell you, 'don't be a moron. You can't sleep five hours a night, drink a liter of soda a day, eat all your trigger foods, and not get migraines.' He'll tell you what you need to do to take care of the problem you have, even if it means you might want to shoot the messenger. If you want to feel better, Epstein & Medical Neurology get my endorsement. If you want a yes-man neurologist who will just take your money, give you some pills, and kiss your ass so you can avoid any hard answers and hurt feelings, go elsewhere. ____________________________________________ Patient population includes (but not limited to) people with nerve damage, stroke, epilepsy, fibromyalgia, migraine, spinal cord injury, and brain damage/ trauma.

Ok, here goes: My…read moresurgeon, Dr. Kakarla, is amazing. Very competent and has helped me (I'm declining to say what surgeries I've had) tremendously. I cannot speak highly enough about him. However, (and this is a very big deal to me) I want others to know before agreeing to surgery about Barrow's philosophy on pain control. I have had two surgeries with Dr. K. within less than a year. The second one is known to be one of the most painful surgeries one can have, which indeed it was. Yet, I was given a prescription for only a minimum amount of pain meds when discharged from St. Joseph's. Not even close to enough. Here's the issue that I want to caution others about. Barrow *WILL NOT* refill pain medication. In excrutiating pain a week out from surgery, I had to reach out to my primary care doc's office, speak with very kind people (Honor Health) do a virtual appointment with my pcp, speak with another very kind nurse and have my spouse go get the meds from the pharmacy. My pcp was stunned that I was sent home with such a limited supply of pain meds and that they *WILL NOT* refill medication. Had I not had a primary care doc at all or one that did not understand this was an absolutely legitimate request, according to Barrow, I would have had to go to a local ER, pay a $500 copay (in my case) just to walk in the door, then get whatever additional bill for seeing a physician all to get a $10 prescription. Upon calling Barrow to ask about the severe pain I was in, Dr K's resident told me the pain I was experiencing (an 8 on the pain rating scale) was expected and that I could need narcotic pain medication for 3 to 4 weeks. Lack of post-surgical pain support is a deal breaker situation for me and I want to make sure others are aware of this before signing that consent for surgery form.

The old lady answering the phone has a few screws loose, and that's putting it mildly. Read these other google reviews and you'll see what I mean. My Insurance does not require a referral. I called, and the rude old receptionist claimed they were not taking any new patients. So, I scheduled an appointment with my primary doctor, and guess where he is referring me...LOL. I said to my PCP but I thought they weren't taking anymore patients, he said "not that I'm aware of, I just referred someone there". Haha I think doctor O'Connor needs a new person answering his phones because this old bag clearly has dementia. Fast forward two weeks: I called to see if they have received my referral and to schedule my appointment. Guess who answered the phone, if you guessed the same lady as before you would be correct! Now, she is claiming "they do not take my Insurance". I let the old bag know that this provider comes up on my Insurance portal list, I know those lists can be outdated, so I called my Insurance and they are showing this provider as being active. She made it sound like they only take Medicare (which I'm sure is NOT true). Then she proceeded to tell me "with that Insurance you will be probably have to go down to the Valley". She named some Neurologist that does not even exist in the Prescott area ( I think this old bag needs to retire because her dementia is terrible!). The old bag at the front desk will become combative and rude, even cut you off if she doesn't like what you have to say. I am amazed that nobody has complained about this lady. She makes things up as she goes, and is preventing people from seeing the doctor. Just a nasty human!
