I'm sure the doctor is great, however you have to get past the wicked witch at the front desk before you can see the doctor. I hope you have better luck than me. The old lady answering the phone has a few screws loose, and that's putting it mildly. Read these other google reviews and you'll see what I mean. My Insurance does not require a referral. I called, and the rude old receptionist claimed they were not taking any new patients. So, I scheduled an appointment with my primary doctor, and guess where he is referring me...LOL. I said to my PCP but I thought they weren't taking anymore patients, he said "not that I'm aware of, I just referred someone there". Haha I think doctor O'Connor needs a new person answering his phones because this old bag clearly has dementia. Fast forward two weeks: I called to see if they have received my referral and to schedule my appointment. Guess who answered the phone, if you guessed the same lady as before you would be correct! Now, she is claiming "they do not take my Insurance". I let the old bag know that this provider comes up on my Insurance portal list, I know those lists can be outdated, so I called my Insurance and they are showing this provider as being active. She made it sound like they only take Medicare (which I'm sure is NOT true). Then she proceeded to tell me "with that Insurance you will be probably have to go down to the Valley". She named some Neurologist that does not even exist in the Prescott area ( I think this old bag needs to retire because her dementia is terrible!). The old bag at the front desk will become combative and rude, even cut you off if she doesn't like what you have to say. I am amazed that nobody has complained about this lady. She makes things up as she goes, and is preventing people from seeing the doctor. Just a nasty human! read more

What an amazing experience! Dr. O'Connor is the first doctor ever, that has explained step by step everything he was doing during his time with me. He was pleasant and very engaging as he performed a nerve conduction test. After test was completed, he even took the time to complete his report so that I could walk out with a hard copy in hand! He was absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend him. Staff was also very professional and helpful from start to finish. I contacted Dr. Connors' office (based on a recommendation) simply to ask what the out-of-pocket cost would be if I chose not to use my insurance. I was 100% honest about having insurance... I just wanted to understand my options and compare pricing. Instead of providing a clear answer or working with me, the staff told me that paying cash instead of using insurance would be fraudulent, and they ultimately denied me service for asking. To be clear: !!!This is NOT fraud!!! According to federal law (18 U.S.C. §1347) and legal experts like Shouse Law Group and WKLaw, healthcare fraud involves submitting false claims or engaging in deception for financial gain -- not simply choosing to pay out of pocket. (Shouse Law, WKLaw) It is completely legal to decline to use your insurance if you're honest, and you do not later submit a false claim to your insurer. Many people pay cash to avoid high deductibles or for privacy reasons. The key is transparency, which I gave them. Unfortunately, the office either doesn't understand the law or chooses to intimidate patients with misinformation. Either way, it reflects poorly on their professionalism. If a provider has contractual obligations with insurers that prevent them from accepting cash for insured patients, that's a contractual policy, not a legal one and it should be communicated clearly and respectfully, not with accusations. I left this interaction feeling frustrated and dismissed for asking a fair and legal question. I would not recommend this office if you expect transparency or patient-first communication. read more

Be careful with the receptionist the office experience was terrible. After waiting days for Dr. O'Connors office to call I felt it necessary to pay a visit bringing necessary insurance documents to their office once arriving I found the office empty with no patients and no one at their desk, waiting until a senior woman approached the window revealing the unwelcomed presence of me. When I politely expressed my concern of scheduling with the doctor providing necessary insurance information, she felt disrupted. Wow, the times we are living today, what happened to the good old days when the medical world cared for their patients... Because of her terrible attitude not willing to help expedite my schedule seeing this great doctor I moved on letting my general practitioner know who might be running a better office in Prescott. We patients don't have to be intimidated there is still warm caring people out there just might have to look harder. read more

Absolutely terrific care! I had the full "electronics" exam done - and Dr O'Connor not only explained every single step before the exam, he explained everything he was doing AS he was doing the exam. He is a VERY kind man, who clearly a) is an expert in his field, b) loves what he does, c) is very concerned about his patients. His personality is infectious and his professionalism is unmatched. I had an appt lined up for several months to see Dr. Oconnor. The day before the appt. the office clerk contacted me and stated I would owe them $140. on my appt day. I told her I had met my out of pocket expenses and didn't owe anything. The morning of the appt I contacted Aetna to confirm I didn't owe any money and they confirmed that was true. I asked the Aetna Rep to please contact Dr. Oconnors office to let them know this so I didn't have any issues when I arrived. They did so and the office clerk called me as I was driving to my appt to inform me I still had to pay them $140. I told her I would not loan them the $140 since I didn't owe this money. The office clerk became very rude with me and then told me she was cancelling my appt. I then had a Aetna Rep call her on 3 way call and she still insisted she wanted $140. even though I had met my out of pocket expenses. Aetna tried to reason with her but she became very irate. I am still unclear as to why this office wanted me to pay them $140. when I didnt owe this money. I had already satisfied my out of pocket expenses and this was verified. Aetna Rep stated to her that Aetna was paying 100%. Her response was, she had a pile of bills on her desk and she didn't want to have to chase after another person so that is why she wants the money and then once Aetna paid, she'd pay me back? That's an absolutely ridiculous way to run a medical office. Asking for money that the patient doesn't owe so she has extra money in bank I suspect. I've contacted my GP so they can also be notified of this offices illegal practices of trying to coerce money from patients. I would go to a different medical office. This seems very shady to say the least. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. O'Connor. What a gift to mankind that man is! I had had two EMGs before - and HATED them. So painful and so anxiety-producing. Dr. O'Connor, on the other hand, was gentle, soft-spoken, and explained every step before doing it, even something as simple as swabbing my skin with alcohol. He showed me how tiny the needle was, told me he wouldn't stick it in my feet (yeah), and also reassured me that if there ever was a moment where I felt I didn't want to go on, I could simply say so. I felt so empowered in this situation that it turned out to be a breeze (okay, still unpleasant, but entirely bearable). Thank you, Dr. O'Connor - you have understood patient care. I have been a patient of Dr. O'Connor for 21 years now. I am so grateful to him for so many things. He is kind, soft spoken, gentle. He explains everything. A very thorough and humane doctor. If only all doctors had the incredible bedside manner that Dr. O'Connor has, the world would be a much better place. The office is spotless and clean. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I always feel welcomed here and it is easy to talk and be myself. I don't feel my blood pressure rise when I am here, or break into a cold sweat as I have at other doctor offices.
