Since I picked this florist based on the yelp reviews, here's my experience. My husband really bombed my birthday. So, to show him how he should have apologized, I sent myself flowers from him... complete with a card. I picked Harriets Flowers because it was local and ordered beautiful "plum pretty" purple flowers. Somehow on the auto complete when I entered my address, i accidentally included his phone number. So when Harriet's flowers wanted to substitute blooms in the arrangement, they called my husband, who then texted me that they had to change some of my flowers but hoped it was still okay. The flowers arrived soon afterwards. Not only were the colors in the arrangement not anywhere close to what I had originally ordered, there was one bunch of older purple small roses, two big pink roses, and three neon pink carnations. There were no pretty lavender Daisy's. And all of the random other flowers looked old. I cried. I'd spent 50 bucks to make myself feel better plus 15 on tax and delivery and now I've got a big fat vase full of disappointment. This would not work. I called my husband and he apologized and said he hoped he hadn't messed up my flowers by agreeing to change it because he couldn't hardly hear them over the rain and he didn't know what was going on in the first place because he hadn't ordered me flowers. So I called Harriets flowers... who defended the arrangement even after I told them I had ordered them and why. I asked if I could bring it back and get the actual arrangement I ordered when they got the right flowers in stock. I would wait. I just wanted those purple flowers in those colors. Long story short, they said they couldn't guarantee they could do it but they'd try to get close. To the arrangement they advertise on their own website. This was not through FTD. I said no. I'd be bringing back the arrangement. I was nice about it. I was trying not to cry in front of my children. I had wanted to show them the beautiful flowers that their father had sent me. I wanted my children to see how loved ones were supposed to treat each other. I wanted to wake up my husband. Instead I took the flowers back to Harriets flowers, who were rushing to make another arrangement of whatever purple flowers they had on hand. It still looked sparse and I felt ridiculous crying because I couldn't even be happy with flowers I sent to myself. They said they'd refund my account in one to five days. I didn't even care at that point. I left Harriet's flowers and drove my four kids all the way to the Costco in Brandon, spent twenty five bucks on two bouquets of the freshest most gorgeous flowers I could find, drove home in traffic, happy that I finally had beautiful purple flowers for my birthday. Then my husband made us all dinner and apologized again and made plans for a do over birthday. So in a way, Harriet's flowers brought us together. It just would have been nice for them to do it by providing a service rather than a point of mutual aggravation and confusion. Seriously. I would have kept the flowers if the woman on the phone hadn't corrected me about what I thought were gerber Daisy's. Who cares what the flowers are called? Just make it look like the picture or don't offer the picture. So if you're going to order from them anyway, I'd call ahead and verify they have the stock and colors to make your arrangement and verify how fresh it is before you order. I wish I'd taken a picture of what they sent but I was so depressed about it I wanted them out of my house ASAP. read more
