Caveat emptor I bid online for items listed showing photos and won several lots. When I went to pick up my purchases, one lot was missing. I was told someone else was mistakenly given my item, but I was assured, they would retrieve that item. I called and emailed Mr. Harris at least five times, he did not return a call or text. A month later, he discovered his company made a mistake and put the photos of an item with an incorrect description, which he sold to me. Finally, his reply, 'my bad, sorry', he did not make it right - no refund. The phrase "caveat emptor" is Latin for "let the buyer beware." read more

Just left an auction and I am positive some there's unscrupulous activity going on. I waited 2 hours for Pyrex dishes that were in a box. I watched them carefully as I would of bid the highest bid no doubt. While I was waiting I saw some lady go to the boxes that had Pyrex in them and mark them with a B. She was also very sociable with everyone that was there. All of a sudden when it came those bowls they were miraculously gone. They were working on bidding on the pans which were at least 5-10 boxes up from the Pyrex. And the Pyrex disappeared. Absolute B.S. There was no bid on them. There's no way on earth I would of missed it. On top of this. I was also on FaceTime with my bff and she saw the whole thing too. read more

Ralph is a stand up guy to deal with. He does his best to take care of his customers and run a fair and square auction for both the consigner and buyer. Always have fun and there are plenty of deals to be had. I have also sold some items through him and always seemed to get more than I expected. read more

One is too generous. The auctioneer was asking for bids on some wood and when no one bid he states "we need to get rid of our president. No one has enough money". You lost a lot of money and we will not ever go back. Jerks read more

I moved from north of prescott to tempe last may. I contacted Harris auction and the owner came out to my home and loaded a house full of belongings plus a barn full of tools, saddles tack, etc. He assured me that it would all sell in short order. He stored it in a building and a yard in chino valley on hwy 89. It was covered with tarps and sat in the yard from may until November. There was even a 12 volt off the grid freezer. Many people wanted to buy the freezer, sewing machine, serger, saddles, etc but he told me I signed a contract and could no longer sell myself. I said fine I would let the people know when the auction of my things was to take place and they could attend and bid. Well the stuff was sold piece meal over a 6 month period! Some on line, some he put into different auctions! When he finally gave me the list of what sold half the stuff he had wasn't even listed! Tents, sleeping bags, camping stoves and heater, sweepers, Hoover floor scrubber still in the box! The list was endless. When I asked about it I was told that what couldn't sell was taken to the dump! Including a Basset love seat and exercise equipment! HIs wife was the one that talked to me, not him! She said they couldn't pay me what they did claim they made as they were in financial trouble, but she would make sure I got paid eventually. I ended up getting payments, the last one being in February of this year! As an example, they said they sold a new pair of Tony Lama boots for $2.00 Same for a new pair of Justins. It just went on and on. If something wasn't accounted for she said they couldn't sell it so it went to the dump! These people are rip off artists! They own two homes and I found out when I looked them up that both of them are in their daughter's name! I guess to protect them from losing anything if the IRS or foolish customer's like myself try to get any money from them. The thing is, if they tell you that they sold a refrigerator for ten dollars and you don't know when or to whom-to bad for you right? You can't argue with what the wife wrote down as to what they received for the item! That way they claim less as profit to the IRS and have to pay you little of nothing for your stuff. I might add, when I finally got to talk to the owner Ralph, I asked him how he could do this when I trusted him. His exact words were--" you can kiss my ass!" "you think your stuff was special? It was worth shit! i could have gotten better stuff from the dump!" "Your stuff was worthless!" Of course, that wasn't what he said as he loaded up a box truck full of sofa's , loveseat, two saddles and tack,, a house full of chest of drawers, vanities, dishes, beds etc. You see I had two homes and the one in Tempe was fully equipped with everything I had in the one up north so I couldn't bring a thing with me to Tempe. Not blankets, bedding, bath items--nothing! I now wish I would have gone wit h my original idea of renting a truck, loading it and bringing it down to the valley, putting it in a storage locker and selling it from there! However, I'm 75 years old and it sounded like to much for me so i trusted Ralph and his wife as they had a long history of being in chino Valley and auctioning peoples belongings. My mistake. I should have looked them up FIRST! ANyway, beware, don't believe a word either of them tell you and if you have them auction anything of yours, tell them you MUST be present at the auction! The thrill of bidding on something that you just really want, and winning that piece at a fraction of it's cost is incredible! I attended two auctions this past weekend, and came home with a lot of incredible treasures.
