The auction went smooth and they did a great job of packing and shipping my winnings. Wanted to pass on that the packing job on my rifles was the best I have ever seen I have been auctioning since 1980 and have seen some bad ones but your team knows how shipping packages are treated by the carriers and they take pride in their work Keep up the great job! I did an online bid at their recent 3-day auction. I put in pre-bids on several items I was interested in, including Native Art, pottery, paintings and some pistols, a rifle and shotgun. I did win many of the items I bid on and lost a couple due to higher bidders, as expected in an auction. My wife and I went up to pick up the items and I got delayed on the gun applications, which was sort of expected with an election going on. I looked at all the items and they were exactly as represented and actually I was pleasantly surprised with the condition as it met or exceeded the pictures and description. As to the prices, they were really fantastic and because I read the fine print, I knew there was a percentage fee to the Auction House for online bidding. The fees are standard and expected, so I was aware of them and still adding them in to the prices I got really excellent deals. I would buy from Reata with complete confidence. The staff were extremely helpful and positive, we discussed some upcoming auctions early next year and I look forward to placing some bids on some really great stuff. This is the worst bunch of crooks I ever dealt with as an auction buyer. Item purchased had a major issue that was not disclosed in the listing description or pictures. I gave them the opportunity to take the item back and they refused stating the description was accurate. A total lie. I will never, ever do business with them again. read more

I have had the pleasure of participating in several of Reata Pass's events in the past couple of years (both in person and online). I have to give them A+++ ratings. I bid with complete confidence from their descriptions and pics. I have used several other auction houses in the past and I have had good and bad experiences. I had a lot of authentic German war items and wanted to sell them. I had had good success buying stuff from Reata Pass so I listed my things with them. They were out in Southern California ( I lived at the time in San Diego) and I met them so they could pick my things up. NOW THE BAD NEWS. When the things were listed they listed them as possibly being copies. This dramatically lowers the value of the merchandise. They sent back some of my items but kept some of the other ones. I find their actions deplorable. And unethical. I will never BUY from these people again and I would recommend NOT selling from them either. For them to take them as original items (which they were) and the listing them as being possibly spurious was criminal. A really bad company in my opinion and they still have some of my items. read more

I have been doing business with Reata Pass, Gigi and her Father John for many years now. They are a family owned business and they do their best to take care of their customers. Every instance where the product or item description did not meet my standards they did everything they could within reason to make things right. I have personally seen them go out of their way to help out a customer. This is the way business should be done! The staff there are always helpful and willing to assist in picking up or loading your new purchase into your vehicle. Compared to other large auction sites their consignment rates and buyer's premium are very competitive. After reading several reviews I found it necessary to comment on one in particular. Scott K like many other "collectors" of various degrees may have thought their items or collections were authentic. I myself do mutual business with many of the same resources as do other firearms and militarily retailers that Reata Pass does. If the consensus from several of these sources is that something cannot be authenticated or is fake they will not sell it as authentic to protect the buyer and the integrity of the auction process. We have had sellers come to us for second and third opinions in the past after being turned down by the auction for us to sell their goods as authentic. Every instance this has happened we concurred with their opinion on the items. We do not sell reproductions or fakes as real either, and if there is a suspicion of authenticity we make that clear to the buyer and let them make their own educated decision on the product. This is the only fair and honest way to portray militaria, especially those that are of high value. Some collectible military items were being reproduced , copied, faked, and put together from old parts before the war even ended. The fact that the auction house and its staff go to these lengths to protect the buyer is why you should be doing business with them. read more

I bid through an online auction being presented by Reata Pass Auctions. After winning the bid and paying in full (including the 17% buyers premium) I was told by a rep that someone would contact me regarding shipping. Surprise surprise, no call or contact until several days later when I called them. They were still finalizing my bill for a total. I told the rep I had already paid in full. They said oh, we'll let you know about the shipping when we get it boxed up. We're working on that now. No call back, fast forward a week and I see a new charge to my credit card for an additional $144+!!!! No call, no mention of why the charge was so high, nothing. Just bang my card. No invoice. No tracking number. No email. No phone call. Nothing. Still haven't received my merchandise. NEVER AGAIN WITH REATA PASS AUCTIONS. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
