I forgot to review the meat processor and it has been a bit but they deserve a recommendation. We had a cow processed here and were completely satisfied with the cuts and service. We had an 800 pound healthy cow, 400 pound hanging weight and brought home less than 200 pounds! There is something wrong with this picture! All they can say is the cow must have been unhealthy, but they don't remember! Seems strange to have less than 25% of a cow when it's all said and done! read more

Harris Meats are top notch people! If you want to get a good selection you do need to go in early or call and reserve an order. These people have the best meats and they're only 5 minutes from our house. I would recommend them to anyone. My fiance usually orders a pound of hamburger meat for 2 burgers that are HUGE and don't shrink up and I get a 1 and 1/2 inch ribeye. I've also heard the freshly ground sausage is to die for! Plus, they have tomatoes that are better than you can get from the farmers market right now to go with their bacon on sandwiches. Yum! Yum! read more

People are so quick to put a bad review if they are not happy, but so slow to put a good review if things are great. Things went great for me, so I'll post a good one. I made an appt to have two steers processed. Had a 6 week back log so it gave me plenty of time to finish the steers and have them ready to go. I showed up at the appointed time, and they were ready for me. I told the lady at the counter that these were "pet" cows and that I did not want them handled roughly like is sometimes necessary with il-mannered cows. When I backed to the loading dock I was met by a nice man with nothing but a small bucket of feed in his hand. She had told him that these were gentle, well-mannered cows and to handle them accordingly. which he did. No yelling, hooping, whistling or anything. My cows were treated with the respect they deserved. They called me in a couple of weeks to tell me that my beef was ready to pick up. Everything was perfect!! Vacuum packed, labeled, and frozen. I am sure that I recieved ALL of my meat and it was from MY cows. I have two more going to them tomorrow. It was a little longer wait to get them in than I really wanted, but I wouldn't take my cows anywhere else. I'll gladly wait. read more

I grew a hog and took it to be slaughtered and packaged. With a "Bum's rush attitude, I was hurried and ignored when I wanted to specify the particular cuts of meat from the 215# Hog I was leaving for slaughter. They claimed Don't worry, you'll like the way we do it. When I picked up the order my order was short weight and cuts of meat. There were NO- Baby back ribs,pork loin, ham hocks were no larger than a hoof, No center cut pork chops to name some cuts... A 70# loss of meat on a hog that weighed 215 lbs. . If you are considering a slaughter house for your meat, be forewarned, You won't get what you expected. read more
