My 91 year old mother just completed a rehab stay at Harris Hill after a fall. She and I were both very happy with the facility. The vast majority of the staff were absolutely wonderful - and there seemed to be plenty of people to take care of the residents. My mother also felt that the quality of the rehab was quite good. The only thing she complained about was the quality of the food. It seemed to be hit or miss. Some meals were decent, some were not so great. So I knocked off 1 star for that. But overall, if the need ever arises we wouldn't hesitate to go back there. read more

Oh, where to begin with regard to this "nursing facility?" I'll preface my review by saying that I wouldn't send a cockroach to stay here...although given the cleanliness of the place I'm sure more than a few have taken up residence, and more than likely permanent placement. My dad was here for approximately three weeks for "rehab" after having major surgery. The only reason he went here was because they were the only facility in the surrounding area that had a bed open. I remember the place being called "Harris Hellhole" by people who worked there back in the day, but I figured maybe things had changed since then. Well, how very wrong I was. We had issues with his "care" (term used loosely) from day one. Rude, unprofessional and downright incompetent staff. Inconsistent therapy schedules. Absolutely FILTHY rooms. Insane response times to call buttons. No one answering the front desk phone after like 5 PM. Not being washed enough. Being left to fester in his own waste for 30-45 minutes at a time, and staff getting nasty when asked to help him. Food that was often lukewarm at best. A bed that only functioned properly half the time. Being told to "stop using your call button so much old man." Oh, and I wouldn't be exaggerating to say that they damn near killed him twice. I won't elaborate on that here. All of this taken together set his rehab back significantly. This is all to say nothing of the overpowering stench of urine and feces from the moment you walk in. (It's either that or the rotting flesh of corpses stacked ten feet high somewhere.) I get that it's a nursing home and not a mansion, but come on now. It needs a good deep cleaning at least once a week! Not to mention the many residents you can hear crying "hello, please help me!" from their rooms, with no response from staff, or the ones roaming the halls being ignored as well. You're practically begging for a lawsuit, much like that squalid craphole called Comprehensive Rehab in Williamsville is facing. That place needed to be condemned YEARS ago and every employee within it thrown in jail. HH should face the same fate with the exception of maybe a handful of staff being spared the criminal charges; namely the social worker whose first name starts with an L. If by chance you're reading this, get out of there. You can apply your great people skills and do so much good elsewhere. Perhaps in the VA Healthcare System. People, for the love of all things sacred, do NOT send your loved ones here. They just might die from the lack of proper care. My dad is on his way to a better place as of next week, but because of the neglect at HH he has been in the hospital since Monday. If God forbid you DO have someone here, get them out of you can. If that's not an option, monitor their time there VERY closely. Use your eyes and ears, document EVERY incident and report it to the NYS Department of Health and Ombudsman's office. Now, this is the part where I will get a canned response (probably AI) saying to contact the administrator with my concerns, or that my concerns have been passed on. Yeah, that ship has sailed and sunk. This person supposedly turned one of the Absolut Care locations around, but at HH they are as useless as basketball cleats. Myself and others in the family did just that, and nothing changed. Classic case of "we investigated ourselves and cleared ourselves of any wrongdoing." The aforementioned social worker was the only one who really helped in any way, but even they could only do so much. Oh, and don't be fooled by their cute little pictures on social media showing the residents playing bingo, interacting with therapy dogs and looking all smiles. The truth is something far more sinister, . They have a "five star" image to uphold, collateral damage be damned. Bottom line: Don't. Just don't. read more

the physical therapy was very helpful and the nurses and aides were fir the most part lovely. UnfoRyan nayely calls to nurses went unanswered, meds were either not given or given in wrong doses. The worst was when the nurse administrator called to scream at me about giving my husband's pain meds to an aide so he would take them properly. She said the aide could have stolen them! what a nasty woman! read more

While I was in there I got a UTI that antibiotics couldn't cure. I'm not sure how I got it but I do recall a nurse wipe me after urinating with a rag she pulled out of her pocket. It could have been caused by any of the unsanitary conditions there but I'm still suffering and it's been since Oct, 2022. It is now Feb. 2023 and finding a cure for it is nearly impossible because I'm anaphylaxis and some medicines I can't take and some don't cure this type of infection. At night they have young men wiping you. They put a huge diaper on you and you lay in our own feces for over an hour until someone comes to help you. Stay away from this place! read more

If you love or even like the person you are considering placing here DO NOT! My mother in law was in this facility for a month. She would ring the bell to go to the bathroom, it was six to eight hours before anyone assisted her. She obtained bed soars and if we did not have another facility come in to assess her for placement she would have died. After a week in the hospital and 30 days at a wonderful facility she is doing great. The place is dirty, the food is cold, and when you go by the desk everyone is just sitting on their phones. When we spoke to them about they act concerned but nothing changed. I have been through this before with my mom and many aunts and uncles but have never seen something so bad in my life. This place needs new management and supervision. We walked in one afternoon and a lady was sitting at the desk in a wheelchair that had wet herself with a puddle under her chair and when we left at 8 pm she was still sitting there with the puddle. Family member was placed here for rehab. Terrible place for medial care!!! The atmosphere is dry & unfriendly. The staff is distant and unprofessional. No true concern about the clients there, who lay hopelessly at the staff's mercy to assist & provide good care for them. read more

My mother was there for rehabilitation. She entered walking and left rehab in a wheelchair. Fact a UTI test result came back and sat on the NPT desk for 12 days after which when she read it we found out mom was on the wrong antibiotic. They are very bad and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Most despicable place my father has been, and he has rehabbed in some bad places. Filth and squalor is the best way to describe the facility. Looks good a first glance but once you go into a patients room, you will be sickened. read more

This Facility Is Horrendous! My Mother In Law Was Here For Rehab and A Complete Joke! One Full Week Of Hell! She spilled her 7 up was put in a wheelchair until they could clean up the bedding- they left her their for three hours! This is only one example! Do- Not place your loved ones here! You will not sleep at night! We finally checked her out against their advice! Best decision ever made! She has excelled ! Their is no- one to address your concerns to except a social worker- who leaves you with broken promises and no results! No matter what the outer appearance looks like trust me they are great until you admit your loved one! They blamed our concerns on under staff, Common knowledge tells anyone that the mis treatment of the elderly is unacceptable! That's exactly what this facility is UNACCEPTABLE! read more

My mom is recently sent there for rehab. She started having seizures about 2-3 months ago. The seizures are the whole reason she has to be in a rehab facility! But yet they're not giving her her seizure medication at all. She only gets 2 of her 6 morning meds.. and they say "breakfast is up to the cooks when it comes" it's VERY dirty as well. NO THANK YOU! My Aunt Chris Bart____ in 2021 had terrible care. How do I know this is because the lady next to her told our family that the staff didn`t clean her, feed her, take care of her because she could not talk or walk... I wouldn't put anyone I cared about in this facility. Garbage wasn't emptied, pills dropped on the floor that could not be replaced because the computer was locked. No one stayed around to be sure medication was taken. Called for bathroom help and the aid never came back to help him into bed. He was a fall hazard and after at least 1/2 hr he walked himself back to bed. If he had fallen I would have "owned" the McGuire group! Pills in the public bathroom..who knows what they were?? Food was disgusting. He lost 17 lbs in the 2 weeks he was there. I did chat with the nursing director but never got any feedback on how she was going to handle this situation. read more

Please do not send anyone here. I went to visit my grandpa and we are trying to get him moved to a different facility. They refuse to let him use the bathroom so he forced to go in his bed. They wouldn't give him his meds and when we asked about when they were going to give him his meds, they were going to give him the wrong medication. And when we tried to talk to some sort of supervisor they called our family liars and refused to check in on us because we were being " difficult ". My grandfather has a stage 4 brain tumor and just had brain surgery. we were not being difficult we needed to make sure he was being taken care of. read more

This place is just horrible. They do not care about the residents. They take way to long to answer call buttons. The majority of the staff have nasty attitudes. The staff will go in to the patient room and take anything they want, then blame the other residents. This nursing facility is dirty. They worried about covid but the place was down right gross. 98% of the staff here are amazing humans. My mother spent the last month of her life here. It was a very hard time for our family but the nursing staff and administrators were so supportive and compassionate every step of the way. My mother often mentioned how nice everyone was there and was treated with respect right up until her last breath. The most notable nurses, and definitely Mom's favorites, were Delia and Emma. They were basically angels on earth and there was always a sigh of relief when we knew one of them was on duty. There was also a nurse named Chelsea, who stepped in and helped save the day when my mom started to rapidly decline. Also, one of the aides, Diane, was very sweet and engaging and went out of here way to check in on my mom and listen to her stories. Lastly, Barb, Sister Anne, and the Journey's Program nurses were also wonderful and seemed a better option than Hospice for her final weeks. If you are looking for short-term, long-term or comfort care for a loved one, I would recommend Harris Hill Nursing Facility/McGuire Group. read more

Wish I could give 0 stars. Staff on long term hostile and can not offer any help as their patient ratio is so high. My mother was in their hospice program for three days and oxygen and medication was delayed for over two hours. One night ratio was 44-1. Very nasty to me. Obvious that we were not welcome. Their journeys program was supportive and did their best - but a horrible experience and do not recommend. read more

My father is currently at HH, which he was transported from the hospital, due to him needing rehab (can't walk on his own and on oxygen). In the short time he's been there, it's just been a big cluster. We are just confused as to what's going on. Nobody explains anything. He's supposed to have a nurse, Tracey, but when my sister spoke to her, she called my father a she and was reading off of the computer. I really don't think she's ever seen my dad! They lost my father's Spiriva and had to order another one and then the next day the original was found in a station drawer. We had to tell them to clean my father's room and wash the floors. Everything that we've found out about the facility so far, was from my father's roommates, wife! She had to tell me that there's a patient plan on the back of the bathroom door, with the bathing schedule, etc...!!! The social worker should've come in to introduce herself to my family, but yet we just found out yesterday what her name is! This place is literally a joke! read more
