They tried to get me change it again this time. Sure, it has dirt in it - but I know from my air filters at home, some dirt doesn't mean it's ready to change. Online I see "12000 - 15000 miles, or 1 year whichever comes first." It had been only 5000 miles so I declined. I did agree to change the engine air filter and top off the antifreeze. It took a little longer than usual - they were ready for me right away, but it took 30 mins. from the time I got there until I was finished. They are definitely friendly but I wish they weren't trying to sell you every single service, so that it's hard to know whether you should say no to every one or if some of them are actually important!

After 30 days and multiple preliminary tests, Encinitas Automotive gave the green light for the Smog Check. Service is personal and friendly, and will be my goto for automotive issues.

Also, it just passed smog not that long ago, I'm selling so these scammers saw an opportunity to put the squeeze on.
