I have to agree with all the good reviews this is a diamond in the Central Valley. It was so relaxing to hang out in the hot tub and pool instead of rush home. Plus with our great CA weather we were basking in the sun during Thanksgiving break. They also keep the pool heated so you can swim in December! Glad we finally stopped after all of these years. read more

Great place to stay off the 5 in the middle of nowhere. Staff are lovely, steak in the restaurant is very good. Pool is set in nice garden area, rooms are somewhat dated but spacious as is the bathroom and all clean and comfortable. Sofa and recliner, while not beautiful are really comfy. Problem is the smell, if the wind is in the right direction, pungent does not even begin to describe it. read more

Horrible customer service. Had a gift card for a one night stay here 179.00 value that they wouldn't accept. So I had to pay myself. Elevator was broke down. Room was dirty. Won't be coming back here. read more

The only reason I'm leaving one star is because our dinner and service at the steakhouse was very good. My husband and I decided to spend our 22nd wedding anniversary at Harris Ranch Inn because we wanted to eat at the restaurant and didn't want to drive home after "wanting" to enjoy some drinks with our dinner. That didn't happen! We checked in and were given our room key, we went up to the room and after a few minutes of trying to open the door with the key someone opened it and informed us the room was occupied. We went back to the front desk to inform them of that and we were told although the wrong room number was written on the envelope we were given, we were "verbally"told the right number, this coming from a different girl than the one who even checked us in??? So.... we took the key and went back to the room she stated we were told we were in and the key wouldn't open that room either. My husband took the key back to the front desk and they fixed it. We finally got into the room and the temp was at 80 degrees, we turned it down to 68, an hour and half later we had to get ready for dinner, the room temp had changed and was now 81 degrees, we basically were so hot we could hardly stand to get ready. At this point we were done, we packed our bags back in our car and went back to the front desk to let them know the air conditioner in the room didn't work and we would not be staying. The young lady told us being that we had occupied the room for an hour and half we would have to pay for it since it would have to be cleaned. We asked to speak to a manager and was told there was not one there at the time. Absolutely horrible experience and even worse customer service, we will NEVER be back! Completely ruined our anniversary celebration! read more

The only reason for enduring the long, boring Interstate I-5 is Harris Ranch. The top notch restaurant is a travelers reward. Our latest visit included an overnight stay as the last stop of a group tour. Very nice hotel with good amenities. Our farewell steak dinner was outstanding. We have been staying in many hotels lately but honestly, I cannot think of a thing that they overlooked. They had good coffee, cream, real glasses and pottery cups for the coffee. Great towels very thick and heavy and at the pool as well. The pool is wonderful, 84 degrees with and the whole thing is landscaped beautifully. I want to stay longer, darn it! I am up a 6 tomorrow to take a last swim and that's another thing, pool open from 6 am to 11 pm. How nice. We ate dinner at both restaurants and they were both exceptional. I hope to be coming back soon. read more

So this place has a lot of potential however good management is seriously lacking! Our experience was a little disappointing. We checked in and my husband had preordered champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to be in the room. They must have misunderstood because they had Chardonnay waiting. Hubby called and let them know of the mistake so they sent over someone, who again shows up with Chardonnay! He called again and asked to speak to a manager which they did not have one working that night, mind you this is a Saturday. How do you not have a manager on duty? Then as we are looking at our rather outdated room, we notice a spider hanging from the curtains. Upon closer looking, there are tons of spiders and the curtains were engulfed in webs. Obviously housekeeping is also lacking. The sheets also do not fit the beds they have. I tried pulling them over the mattress but they were too small. The curtains also had multiple stains all over. The lack of attention to detail and poor management is what led us to give them a two star. We won't be returning. I will say, the steak house is amazing and worth the money but just do not stay here. I wanted to add, we paid for the room service breakfast and it was horrible! Bland dry muffins and not ripe fruit. For the most part we feel we definitely wasted money. read more

Impeccably clean room. Excellent amenities. Pet friendly. Lovely villa/garden area with pool and heated spa-pool. And all this at a price-point far below what you would expect. (Think slightly more than a Super 8 and 10x as nice). The affiliated restaurant is unbelievable- I won't even bother to add my review to the 1900 already there. If you've ever wondered about the difference in USDA grading between 'choice' and 'prime', this place will answer that question for you. One thing you should know is that it is located a couple scant miles from the Harris Ranch feedlot, which I'm given to understand is the largest in CA. In the afternoons and evenings it's no big deal, but on a dewy morning you sure can smell it. It didn't bother me, but vegans might blanch a bit. ;-) read more

I stay in a lot of hotels, I enjoy traveling. I stopped at Harris Ranch on the way back from San Diego figuring it might be a nice stop because we needed a break from the road. I made a reservation 5 days prior to the stay. I had paid for a deluxe room because it stated you would have a patio or balcony with a view of either the "Tranquil farms" or their "lush courtyard". When I arrived the smell of manure is strong, I thought we'd get used to it and not notice but the smell was pretty powerful. I checked into my room which was in the very back of the property, the patio had no view except a driveway and some bushes and of course the smell of manure. The room smelled moldy and it did not appear clean. It looked as if it had been empty for quite awhile. There was only sheets on the bed, no blankets or bedspread. I went back to the lobby and asked for a different room, they told me I'd have to upgrade. They gave me another room.Also the first time I checked in they did not offer me any luggage assistance, the second time I went back. they did. The carpets in the hotel were old and dirty and even though they stated they didn't have many rooms left I didn't see anyone else around. This room again had a damp smell but it appeared cleaner than the last room and it wasn't facing the back of the property. It was facing another building, it didn't have a view they mentioned in the description of the room. The bathroom was outdated and the shower had old stains in it, it didn't seem clean, again, I felt like the room had not been used in awhile. The next morning we were getting ready to leave. I found a beetle in the bathroom and bugs in BOTH beds!!! Needless to say, I will not be returning to Harris Ranch. I was disappointed because it's a nice midway point as you're driving on that long stretch of I-5. The other hotels I stayed at sent me an email to review my stay, I never received one from Harris Ranch! If you expect clean rooms, bug-free, do not stay at Harris Ranch read more

stayed here with hubby, as an over nighter...hubby had always wanted to eat here, so decided to make it an over night trip..we got the 'suite deal' and were placed on the second floor of the golden gate wing...what a nice room! wonderful balcony over looking the beautiful grounds and pool, plus a spacious bedroom/living area...lots of toiletries, 2 sinks, comfy couch and 2 tv's..lots of chairs as well...well worth it since you get a 50 dollar meal credit...only complaint was hubby said the AC kept him awake most of the night, but other than that, a very relaxing, enjoyable stay, and the winds were in our favor, keeping the strong odor of cow poopie away from our windows... read more

Staying here with our family and having many issues. The roll away bed took forever to get to our room (they told us it would be in the room when we arrived), the pull out couch bed was unusable (the springs connecting the frame to the support system were missing so the entire lower portion of the mattress would fall to the ground), many insects in our room (including a very large cricket that freaked our kids out), and we were only allowed to have 2 extra pillows because "the hotel was full." NOT WORTH THE $190+ we paid. Very disappointed. This is not our first time staying here, but for sure- it will be our last. read more

When driving between Northern California and Phoenix, I like to stop for two nights along the way--once around Palm Springs and again in the Central Valley. Now while Palm Springs has a variety of choices for places to stay and things to do, there's not much adjacent to I-5--and I've often been stuck in places like Kettleman City. Then a couple of friends tipped me off to Harris Ranch with very nice rooms/baths that are larger and more comfortable than standard issue--with private patios, desks, and a brown leather recliner that was great after a day of driving. Dinner was excellent and much better than what can be found nearby. Even breakfast the next morning was a big improvement over local fare--and Larry was a great server. Most of all the place has a nice, quiet atmosphere where I could easily spend a couple of days, any time of year, just relaxing and reading. Note to staff--Room 158 has the recliner located immediately in front of the entrance to the room...I would probably re-arrange things and put it in the far corner, with a view to the patio sliding door. read more

As we were driving to Los Angeles one evening, it was getting late and we were getting tired so we decided to see if there were any vacancies at the Harris Ranch Inn (HRI). We had stopped at this location (restaurant) many times on our trips to Southern CA and return, but never at HRI. We called and were able to book a queen room at the AAA rate. Upon checking in, the hotel staff was friendly and courteous. Our room was great!! It was spacious and had a very comfortable lounge chair. The bed was the most comfortable we ever slept in and the four oversize pillows were just as comfortable...........during check out, the clerk informed me it was a Serta Presidential. Unfortunately, we had recently purchased a new bed set. Back on track though. After checking in, we went to the restaurant for dinner and my wife and I shared a ribeye steak with the a special rub (can't recall what it was called). It was absolutely delicious! Anyway, we checked out the following morning and had breakfast before continuing our trip. I can truly say that on each and every occasion we have eaten at the restaurant and for our first experience at HRI, each and very staff member was friendly, courteous, and helpful..........EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
