I was in town to visit family and had some extra time on my hands. Wine tasting sounded like a good idea, but does Fresno really have any decent wineries (especially with the brutal heat)? Yes! Much to my surprise! Not only was everything beautifully presented (interior and exterior design, table setting, cheese plate, wine flights, gift shop, etc.), but the wine was wonderful! I tried the white and red flight. My favorite was the Cab Franc so I had to take a bottle to go. We also had an olive oil tasting and a small cheese plate. Delicious! Service was fantastic. Karen and I believe Pam made us feel so welcome and checked on us regularly. We were also treated to a sample of peach sangria--so good! It was a fantastic experience. Highly recommend!

I finally made it out to the winery. I discovered Moravia (pronounced Mor-raav-ia) a few years ago at a food festival at Riverpark and fell in love with Symphony. My friend and I made a reservation about 2 weeks prior. We ordered the Antipasto tray $14 with fruit added for just $5 more and we ordered the sweet indulgence tray $8 that as a mixed variety of sweet snacks and treats. The attendant that made our food trays did a great job on presentation and she was so polite to check up with us during our visit. The food trays were great and a great value. Rob was our server and he was fantastic. Very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. My friend and I both chose the white and reds selection to test but Rob was so great to swap out the Cabernet on my tasting for a Moscato since that is my favorite. Rob also knew we were interested in Sangria and gave us a taste from the batch made last night! The tasting room is air conditioned and a great necessity in the 95 degree heat today. The tasting room has a nice dim light woodsy feel with tables for small groups and tables for large groups. The bathrooms were very clean and the outdoor patio looked nice. There was a wedding event set-up for today so we got to sneak a peek at the tables out back. They have family events on Friday nights from June-September. They have a large playground for the kids.

Cute place! Cozy home vibe Inside & outside, we sat inside because of the extreme heat that particular day Service was good, be sure to check in on yelp for a $1 glass of wine voucher! Wine was alright, we did a tasting. I liked the brut probably best and then, the cab. They do a have a small bites menu. Also cute little gift shop in the check in area!

    Charcuterie board made with love.

Wonderful people, great wine and the best charcuterie board in town. It is me and my husband's favorite place to go and relax.

I really enjoyed my time with my girls here. It was my first time coming to this winery and I think it's soooo neat you can bring your own snacks. Of course they do offer a lovely little menu of little cheeseboards and spreads you can order at there. We did our wine tasting there for $5 each person and if I remember correctly they will pour 4 different wine to try. The server there will ask for your preference if you like red wine, light, dry, or sweet so when you're doing your tasting they will pour you what you like or at least close to what you like. The little winery is cute, they have a seating area indoors that's rustic and barn like, and also outdoor seatings for bigger parties. The staff were super relax and nice and I would recommend coming here for a casual little hangout with your friends. It's quite nice.

Great little hidden gem in Fresno. Never knew Monrovia wines was there until I was invited to a graduation celebration. Such a wonderful place. Even though it was almost 100° the winery had the perfect amount of shading and covering to keep you from feeling the heat. Towards the end of our time there there was a wonderful breeze blowing through which made it even better. Everything was clean and covered, rest rooms were clean and well stocked. Everyone working at the wine tasting and assisting with the graduation celebration was polite, smiling and had great suggestions. Good wine and people. They have a cute wedding venue and a kids play area to keep the kids occupied when they have events. I will definitely be going back with my girls to spend some relaxing time together.

I can't believe what an AMAZING evening we had for just FIVE DOLLARS! Can you believe this beautiful winery only charges $5 per person for an evening of music? Other wineries are charging $25 or more per person. It is VERY family oriented. For another $5 you were able to decoupage a wine bottle with various tissue paper and insert mini lights with a cork. Kids and adults were very engaged and the end products were so good! The owners and employees of this winery are SO friendly. I would recommend looking up their calendar and attending MANY of their events. When they don't have food trucks, you are able to bring in your own food! Watching kids throw a ball, several people having picnics on the manicured lawn, kids playing with frogs, listening to a live band and drinking DELICIOUS wine is a FANTASTIC way to spend a summer evening.

If I could give more stars... I would. This venue was so amazing, what made it even better was the owner Wendi and her family are so accommodating and fantastic. From the very beginning of planning my wedding things were smooth. And the wine! So delicious! They have a variety of wines and will love them all! I'm so happy I found Moravia to host my wedding! Thank you Wendi!

So my cousin had her baby shower here. It's a very beautiful venue for events. They have a section that is covered which is perfect in Fresno heat. They also have shades that can be pulled down if you need to block more of the sun. There is a nice grassy area next to it and further beyond is their beautiful vineyards. There is also a play area for the kids with lots of things to keep the kiddos busy. My reason I knocked off 2 stars because the employee we encountered when trying to buy wine was really rude. We asked to sample some wine so we could buy a bottle. Her response was we can't keep giving out free samples if you're not going but anything. I honestly don't know why she would tell us that since it was our first time being at this establishment and even trying their wine. She went on to say it's 5 dollars for wine samples. We said ok that's fine so she said we had to enter another area to be waited on. Which was annoying to have wait longer since we were there for a party and we were just trying to take wine back to celebrate with our family. After waiting about a few minutes we were given a menu. The lady who helped us there was really nice. I wish she would have helped us in the beginning. We finally bought our bottles and were able to return to the party. I'd most likely never be back because we have a lot of other beautiful wineries in Fresno and Madera where the people treat you better.

    Relaxing patio!

My husband and I have been wine club members here for over 7 years now. We visited during a Fresno County Wine Trail weekend and just fell in love with the atmosphere and staff. This was before we had a child. One of our favorite features is that this winery is SO family-friendly. Our daughter has a blast on the playground. We come out almost every Friday night during the Summer because the entertainment is great and it tends to be cooler than in the city! My favorite wine is the Symphony. Our friends who tend to enjoy red wines like the bourbon barrel Cabernet.

Love Friday evenings at Moravia listening to music, eating with friends, and especially drinking Moravia Chardonnay! Everyone is pleasant and helpful. They often have sangria to purchase by the glass, and of course, their wines.

Such a nice family friendly venue... During the summer they have family Friday events with local entertainment (bands, hula dancers, etc) and food booths and local wine of course!! Tonight we we're blessed that the weather cooled down and we were able to see hula dancers from Halau Hula I Ka La.. So fun! Besides the yummy Moravia wines (med venner my favorite) the Tap truck, Goody's mini donuts, and a pizza/sandwich vendor were here.. Kids can run around in the grass or play on the pirate play structure... Yelp also had a one dollar wine glass check in special.. Definitely a hidden Fresno gem! Make sure to bring sunblock and DEET though.

Ask the Community - Moravia Wines

I I was looking for a quote for hosting a baby shower?

Hello Deja - Assuming you are looking to host your event on a Saturday or Sunday in the morning/afternoon (ending before 5pm), we charge $250 to rent the venue. We also require the purchase of one case (12 bottles) of wine, approximately $380,…

    Do I need reservations?

No not normally but they can get busy sometimes and reservations are probably appreciated. But we have gone several times last minute with no reservation with no problems. For their special events though you normally need a reservation.

It was nice because driving into here they had a sign in the front saying closed for a private event. So we had the whole winery to ourselves, felt very intimate. 3 Oaks was super accommodating with all the cute customization. They had one wine bottle with a happy birthday sticker of my friend's name on it. There was a hanged chalk sign at the bar with a happy birthday message, and the wine tasting menu also had a happy birthday message on there with his name that we got to keep. The winery itself is medium size. It looks like it's someone's back yard because there was a house with a pool and the rest of the land is the vineyard. They had so many chickens walking around. Our host Chris, told us that we the head leader chicken was name Marshmallow which was so cute. You park in this rock lot and the walk to the winery which is very close. We got to sit under the shade during the sun light because our reservation was 6:30pm. Although, it was very hot to sit outside for the summer time. There were some ceiling fans to help us stay cool in the 100 degree weather. They offered ice cold water cups as well. We were able to bring our own food and cake for the event. They had so many different types of vineyards with signs on them. It was very pretty. The barn and the seating areas had a cute hang out charm to it. Chris was wonderful with his hosting skills and his service was above and beyond my expectations. He was very personable and nice. He helped us put the food out on the table, placed utensils around, and took a bunch of pictures for our group. He also was very informative about all the wines and ingredients. He was pretty funny knowing some random facts too. I enjoyed talking to him. He even gave us some tips about taking photos during the sunset for golden hour. My friend ended buying a bottle and I believe it was $32. All the wines tasted delicious. The unique flavors tasted rich. My favorite was the Yacamastu Tempranillo for red and 2023 Pammie Grigio for white. Too bad we couldn't taste Rosé wines cuz they were sold out. The tasting itself was $35/person which was not bad. It was my boyfriend's first time wine tasting and he enjoyed too. Bathrooms were nice and clean just very hot. Saw they have board games, nice lounge areas, and merch shop. It's nice that they hold even other events like yoga. I definitely would come back to this vineyard. I thought it was sweet that the owner requested for our group photos thank you!

The place is really cute and super tiny compared to a lot of wineries in madera. It has a cute bar area with really nice chairs and a little area to buy books and market items. We sat down at the bar area and didn't get greeted right away it took a few minutes it seemed like they were overwhelmed with all of the people there. We wanted 3 tastings in the hopes to have a charcuterie board and get a bottle of wine if we liked one of them. While sitting there a couple who had a baby sat at the bar and both were drinking wine (sorry I don't think it's okay) I understand parents need a day or night out (I'm a parent too) but babies don't belong at wineries or breweries. It's just how I feel. While sitting at the bar area the owners and whoever else the ladies were to the establishment didn't have it together they all kept overstepping one another and they looked and seemed overwhelmed. And they kept talking about it in front of us. I found out the new owners have only been there 6 months. So I understand they're still trying to figure things out. But it did take awhile to get a new pour, so I finally asked after 3 tastings if we can buy a charcuterie board, one of the ladies told me they don't have anymore they were sold out. We were bummed because we were hungry, and they didn't have any snacks to buy. So we were on our last tastings and out of nowhere a board appears and was now being bought from the couple with the baby who also got to sample the slushie they serve as well. We left unhappy and not understanding why they just lied to us about not having a board for sale. The wine was great but how we were treated compared to the people around us not so much. It's so unfortunate to like something so much but the service that's given to you and different for others is not okay. I love trying new places but sometimes it's not what's it's cut out to be.

I tried to find information on the internet where and how to buy the materials. I found very little information and the information I found was here on Yelp. But, it was not the information I was looking for. Still at a loss on where to go or speak to.. I just drove out that way with my truck hoping to get lucky! I came across a big open lot that appeared to intercept the harvest trucks with a little building that had a sign in front (south side of Olive Ave just East of Clovis Ave). The sign was not very informative either by the way!!! So, I walked up to the building and there was a lady there behind a glass and asked if I needed help. I explained why I was there and she pointed out the different materials they had for sale. I explained I needed compost for over-seeding and she recommended the 50/50 mix of soil and compost. I bought a half of yard of 50/50 mix of soil and compost for only 15 dollars. Still not knowing where to go to get the material, I had to ask her where to go for the material because there was no signs. She pointed that I had to travel farther east on Olive Ave and take the second left. She stated a man would be there to help and load me. As I followed her instructions, there was no man to be seen. I drove pretty far to the back of the lot looking for this said, "man!" Eventually I just drove to the farthest part of this lot where I saw piles of materials and workers near by on equipment. Eventually someone waved me over and viewed my receipt. He then pointed me to the area he wanted me and he came over with a front loader. The pile of 50/50 mix he had was very small. But, it was enough for my load. As he scraped it up and loaded it into my truck, I saw small pebbles in the material. I think the pebbles came from him scraping the material from the ground. When I got home, I saw a few pieces of debris. It looked like a piece of a tie that's used for bread bags and few little pieces of torn paper. The material that was loaded in my truck didn't compare to the sample bags the girl had at the window when I purchased the mix. The half yard of 50/50 mix of compost and soil equaled to about 4 full wheelbarrows worth. Wished it would had been a bit more.. but worth the money. It would had cost me way more from a box store than it did getting the material at Gallo Winery. The little pebbles that was in the material migrated to the bottom of my wheelbarrow and was easily separated. As for the other debris, I just simply picked it out by hand and threw it away. I suggest to bring a tarp and a few pieces of heavy lumber to put over the top of the lighter weight material so it does not cause a hazard to other drivers when driving to your project location.
