After a few days of trying to leave California and a few blowouts with our RV, We made it to this absolute oasis and had the best stay. Dustin welcomed us and was so accomodating and helpful. This review is about the park and about the owners. If I could give 0 stars I would. The park is in the middle of nowhere. Not much to see of do. Stayed there for a few months and the highlight was seeing Sadie. Sadie was a stray dog being cared for by long term residents at the park. She was a very calm dog who would just follow the people she knew and relax and lay down. She was there for months. Very calm and peaceful dog which was why I think we liked her so much was how calm she was especially being a stray. Unfortunately the owner Serena had the humane Society to come and get her saying Sadie was aggressive and biting dogs at the park. Which was a lie. When the humane society officer came and picked her up 5 people were telling the him that wasn't true and she lied so they would be forced to pick her up. But he had to pick her out and put it down on her record. He said it's a red flag which makes it nearly impossible for her to be adopted and most likely be euthanized. She sealed her fate with a lie. There were other ways to go about the situation. The owner is a cold hearted and cruel person. The park itself is maintained but they have a field rat and fly problem. We move around a lot and never have had an issue with mice or rats. While we were there a rats got into the carriage of our rig. The next day I called the office to ask them if there are mice or rats and they said yes field rats and said they had an experience with one there as well. Gross. The flys can get out of control there as well. Definitely will not stay here again and don't recommend staying here. Sad that I got to see just how inhumane and cold the owners are. Not a place I will spend my money at ever again. RIP Sadie read more

We were assigned space 68 and the fragrant flowers in bloom smelled amazing. Even with my stuffy nose I could smell them. I was amazed that we didn't hear much traffic. The host was very nice and accommodating and even though she was closed when we arrived, she still helped us get checked in. The gravel pull through was fine but it would've been nice if we were not all packed together. There were several empty spots and separating us would have been nicer. We could reach the WiFi from our site and it was fine for browsing but too slow for Netflix which is expected. We would stay here again. read more

Not much to do in this area, but if you need a convenient and quiet place to pull off the road (with friendly and accommodating office staff, 30/50amp-water-sewer hookups, showers, laundry, and 2 swimming pools), this fits the bill. We were passing through when our vehicle broke down at the I-5 rest stop nearby, and the manager helped guide the tow truck to a spot where we could spend the weekend since all the repair shops we'd called were closed. The park (paved roads and plenty of level, pull-through gravel pads) is neatly maintained, brightly lit at night, and, though relatively close to the Interstate highway, also really quiet. There were several long-term, friendly residents with well-behaved (and quiet) dogs. With the orchard being right next to the park, there were also a lot of birds, including a pair of red-tailed hawks that can be observed circling over the orchard, and many doves. We were able to cancel our final night's stay without problems when it looked like the car repairs would finish sooner than expected, and were also easily able to re-book when we changed our plans again--if you happen to arrive after the office closes at 6pm and don't already have a reservation, you can just book your space through the website (or call ahead and the manager will be kind enough to stay a little later for you). Excellent customer service and a pleasant place to stay, would definitely recommend! read more

We stopped for the night on our way to South Lake Tahoe. It's right off the highway and next to a gas station. It sits up to a orchard. Super quiet at night. Had no issues checking in. We came in after hours and they had our welcome packet on the office door. It's an older rv spot but it's clean. We had a pull through spot which allowed us not to unhook our pull vehicle. We ended up stopping again a few days later after we noticed a leak on our black tank. We were able to pay $20 to wash out and dump our black tank. Super thankful they let us do this. read more

Wow! By far the friendliest office staff we've encountered at an RV Park! We were in need of propane everyone took amazing care of us. When we called over the phone to inquire about if they had propane the office manager was extremely helpful and cheery and then when we arrived everyone was great. Over night stay only. Kinda dumpy. Host was great. Rv pad gravel with weeds. Some one had fun with the duct tape. There was tape wrapped around all of our hook ups. Tight spots if you have a lot of slide outs. Internet is worthless. The only plus side, it's very quiet and it's close to the I-5. Not much else to say. read more

Great stop off of I-5. Literally right off of I-5 and easy in and out. I usually do everything online including check-in but when I've had to call, service is excellent and everyone is friendly. The spots are gravel, level and with full hook ups. No cable. Free weakish Wi-Fi. (Paid Wifi available. Can't rate it since I've never used it) Showers, laundry and most amazingly, PROPANE. I mean a full fill-up-your-rig propane tank. It's an unbelievable convenience that requires no traveling off the beaten path for a propane refill. Despite its proximity to the highway, it is very quiet and serene at night. Absolutely restful. We use this place all the time for our 1/2 stop between NorCal and SoCal. We've noticed it's getting progressively busier as time has gone on. If you're hungry, Harris Ranch is only 10 miles away. Great food and cocktails. They've got everything to-go also. I highly recommend both Almond Tree Oasis and Harris Ranch. read more

Stayed for the night on our way south, there are quite a few month to month rentals, but the place was clean, neat, and quiet. There was a Valero right there and the price for diesel was actually pretty good compared to truck stops. Site was flat gravel, we parked a 40 foot rig with a towed vehicle. Dumped our tanks and emptied the trash. Will stop again if we need a place to stop headed south. read more

Perfect RV park for our one night stop on our way to LA. Large level pull through sites so we could leave our tow vehicle hooked up. Very quiet, clean and well maintained. Had our propane tank filled there too. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great to know about this park when we want a shorter day of travel when heading south. read more

This is a great overnight park. The sites are long gravel sites with decent hookups. The pool is nice but only one was open. There is a lot of truck noise from the nearby service station. This is a no thrills RV park that provides an excellent waypoint during a long distance haul. Let me be very clear; there is nothing here but a very convenient place to spend the night. If you are looking for exotic or ritzy, this is not it. If you are looking for easy, clean, and friendly this is the place. We recently traveled from Chico, California to San Diego, and used this as our halfway overnight stop. The park has very easy freeway access, inexpensive diesel next door, pleasant staff, 24 hour video surveillance, large spaces, and easy to navigate interior roads. The best feature however is the very cool pool. We pulled in, and the kids and my wife immediately got into the pool. After setting up, I joined them and it was wonderful. That night we went to Harris Ranch for dinner, because it is only 12 minutes north of the RV park. After dinner we had a last minute swim before sack time. The following morning we had breakfast, and the family swam while I got the rig ready to go. Just before we left, I dove in and had a nice cool dip to finish the trip off. It was very helpful. I rarely give five stars, but this placed earned them all because of the convenience and ease of use, the price, the cleanliness, the friendly staff, and the pool. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone, and I will stay here again. read more

Read manager responses about the dirt they are new and working on improvements. The Central Valley got hit hard by the drought and this area especially even with all the rain Northern California got this lower end and the central coast still didn't get enough. I would love too give 4 stars but yes they are in need of some improvements which they apparently are working on. Ok that said we booked a spot same day as we were heading home and thought we'd break up the drive a bit not sure what to expect. The staff we spoke to was very accommodating to our needs as well as friendly. When we arrived he showed us to our spot as well. it is gravel but very level and the roads around look good. The sites are pull through yes a bit narrow but we had no trouble with our awning or slide out. ( our rig is not a big one though) we stayed connected so we could leave easier in the morning. Picnic tables are definitely older but seem quite useable and recently painted. The WiFi works but is a-tad slow but at least you can connect better than some hotels and other RV parks we've been in. When it's full it's going to slow that is life. Bottomline we'd stay again doing the north-south route. Hopefully they can recover from the drought damage soon. For the 40$ a night the price can't be beat! They even offer discounts for some groups. I don't any know other place with full hook-ups in the state with low of price. read more

Got put in the long term residents section apparently. Kinda run down. Showers need remodeling. No water pressure at my site! Dripping. Had to use my waterpump and fresh water tank. Dirt strip between sights. Neighbor not picking up dog poop. Woke up to dog poop on my outdoor mat! Glad it was only 1 night!!! read more

The good... easy hook ups, easy to find my space and pull through, shower stall was spacious with a dry area and extra towel hooks, Dan was helpful at check-in, there is a swimming pool and laundry (I did not check it out so can't offer opinions on them) and, most importantly... the RV park is sufficiently off of Hwy 5 to be VERY quiet. Price was fair for services provided and the nearby gas and diesel stop offered a good price for fuel. The not-so-good... even with a huge amount of California rain this past spring, the landscaping is basically dirt. I would guess on a windy day, it would be pretty gritty outside. The picnic tables are usable but in need of repair. No cable TV. So not at all a scenic place but quiet and safe and I would return for an overnight. read more

Park is readily accessible just a short distance off I-5 and there is a gas station just to the north. After a 10 hour driving day in a 31 foot rig towing a 12 foot trailer, the pull-in site was a must for me. There is a descent pool although I did not use it. Propane is available for $3.25/gal. I'm going to be brutally honest with this next part. Visually this park is unappealing at best. I understand the drought issue, but it doesn't take water to keep your property looking good. I was taking pictures and the manager came out and we spoke briefly. He told me he never had anyone taking pictures before. Well I'm not surprised! I told him I like to document my journeys and also write reviews of the parks I stay in. That's when he immediately mentioned the drought, and that the owners were going to improve the park by putting down decomposed gravel instead of grass (good call). Reading Mik L's review dated 10/30/17, I can see that he was also told that they are "working on improvements"; that was almost 7 months ago, but I didn't see anything I would call an improvement. The spaces between the sites are just about all dirt since the grass has died because of the drought, and weeds have taken over. The gravel pads have just about as many weeds as the dirt; hard to tell in the dark where the pad is and where the common space is. The picnic tables are structurally sound, but it wouldn't hurt to get out there with a gallon of paint and make them visually appealing. Restrooms/showers were as clean as to be expected, but are dated and could use a facelift. Bottom line is Sommerville RV Park is a good place to stay for a day or two after a long travel day despite its appearance. To call it a diamond in the rough would be a stretch, so let's just say it's a work in progress. I just hope the owners begin progress soon! read more

There's not much out there, and although this RV park is not much to look at, the hosts are friendly, the hookups are in good condition, and as a plus, pets are allowed. I'm giving them five stars because I'm so happy they are here with a 50 amp service and an easy pull through. The place is clean enough and the price is right. Especially considering what electricity in this state costs. It was over 100 degrees today when we pulled in. If you're looking for quaint RV park that is just off the 5 on your way through California's farmland, this is a good choice. We should support small privately owned business who provide services we appreciate. I'll stop here again, probably on my way back from our trip to Washington. read more

This is my first stop here and I must say that I was impressed. I wasn't expecting not one but two pools and new Wascomat laundry machines. The place is quiet and safe with a mix of overnighters, weeklies and monthlies. The hookups are new and the power right at 120 Volts so no problem with Air conditioning which you will need in the summer months. The pads are a bit close together but are flat and level and most are pull-through. The manager I met was cheerful and accommodating. I used the laundry facilities which are excellent but you'll need quarters. While waiting for my laundry I took advantage of the close-by cool pool to take a refreshing dip (it was 100 degrees at 4:30PM) The restrooms and showers were very clean and recently updated (both fixtures and wall/floor coverings). When I visited there was a workman installing new LED lighting in the restrooms. If you need supplies you can walk to the nearby truck plaza. There is also a Subway and Baja Fresh fast food there. There is some road noise from I5 to the east and the truckstop to the North but it didn't bother me. If you are noise sensitive, pick a spot in the South West corner of the park to stop for the night. This is my new favorite for a stopover between LA and the Bay. This is certainly not a vacation destination but rather a convenient place to layover for a period of time on the I5. It fits the bill for what it is. read more

You know when you plan to go somewhere else but problems with your RV require you to change plans? Well that is how we got to this park. We experienced a rear blowout on our Class C RV about 30 miles up the road and pulled into a rest stop where I changed it out for the spare it was 100 degrees out so changing that spare took a lot out of me. The sign for the RV park on the I5 told me it would be a good place to exit and check on the spare which I did, the spare was good however I was losing a tire on the other side (note to self buy only tires made in the USA!) so we could go no further. We pulled in and I requested a spot with full hookups and shade and thankfully got one right across from the pool. We used the pool several times which was very refreshing, it was 106 degrees outside and the cooler water revived us. You can tell the drought hit this place pretty hard as all the grass between sites was dead. There are pictures on the wall by the pool of how the place used to look and it was much nicer before the drought. Maybe with all the rain we had they can get the grass growing again because it really is a convenient place to stay if you are coming from or going to LA and are tired and need rest. After contacting a local tire shop that made onsite installations we were soon set up with 4 new tires. I had 2 tires about to blow in addition to the one that did. Keep this place in mind if your driving the I5. read more

We stayed here twice in the past 2 weeks to break up our drive from southern california to oregon-and it served above and beyond it's purpose. Quiet, close to the freeway with gas stations next door with plenty of food-including a baja fresh -and a staff that is amazing-and better yet-you have the Harris Ranch Restaurant 10 miles away! Not towing on this trip-we were worried on how we would get there for dinner-but the staff went out of their way to make sure we had a ride to and from the restaurant! The rv park is quiet with a nice pool-got our rest and beef fix at Harris Ranch-Sommerville-see you the next time we pass thru on a drive up north!! An ok overnight stopover,nothing more. The condition of the grounds is pretty unruly. Have to trek in dirt to enter your rig. Lots of gopher holes that could sprain ones ankle. Sites of full timers looking mighty trashy. They offer WiFi and code but it didn't work. Other than that, it's convenient off Hwy 5, quiet and the front desk was accommodating. read more
