I just was to send a Shout Out to Harris Services who have been cleaning our office every week for several years and have never disappointed us. We alway have two (2) of their crew members - presently Kenzi & Shay - and they are just like family to us now. Overtime personnel have changed but that has never reduced their quality of work and dependability. We went to the realtor who helped us purchase the house and asked who you would hire to clean out the dryer vent and this is the company they recommended. In less than two hours, they discovered we had a totally clogged dryer vent. They cleaned it out and provided us with a solution that should work until they come back in a year and a half to clean out the dryer vent again. I cannot speak personally about the other services they offer. I can tell you dryer vent cleaning is a necessity. read more

Overpriced and aligned with insurance companies, not the customer. If you try to end their work to control what gets fixed and what doesn't, they will charge you premium and then write reports to throw you under the bus with the insurance company. But you'll also receive the minimum amount of correction for your home, while they charge premium prices for their service because they are so familiar with the industry. We would have been better off not calling them at all and having the work done on our own. In this case, we were just out 2K for them to tell us we had water damage, cut holes in our wall and install fancy drying equipment. Well, duh. We already knew that. They might work better for you if you don't care or you want someone to control the entire insurance claim process. But I guess it depends on what you're looking for. I'm not from the area, so Harris was a referral from a family member's girlfriend. My opinion is the service is almost scam worthy. read more

I was recommended to this business by my insurance agent when I had water/mold damage in my basement. Although they were taking a long time (8+ months) to get finished, I was happy with the work and the employees were very friendly. Then, out of the blue, with reconstruction not begun, I got an email from someone I'd never spoken to before telling me they couldn't finish the job! They've already made $20,000+ from the job, and left us with half the basement ripped out and the other half stuffed with the furniture and materials they'd pulled out while mitigating the damage. I couldn't even reach my furnace to change the filters. This is not the way to show customer service. I wouldn't recommend them. read more

We initially contracted with Harris to fix a water problem, which affected our master bathroom, master bedroom, master closet, and basement--about a quarter of the house. They came and took care of that pretty well, though they weren't always wearing masks and they made quite a mess. but it was adequate, so we contracted with them to do the repairs. They worked with the insurance company, put together an estimate, and we signed a contract, paying 50% upfront. This was in September. They gave us a work start date of November 4 and estimated two weeks for the job. Then they postponed to sometime in December, then to January, then finally got to it in late February. It's almost done (this is mid-March). In addition to the long delays, they simply did not communicate well. Sometimes weeks would go by without them telling us anything, then a crew would show up early in the morning without notice. They seemed very unorganized and often did not pay attention to details. We paid money upfront so that they could order materials, but they were still ordering things in February, which caused even more of a delay. We were really patient and tried not to complain, but six months for a two to three week job is really unacceptable. Even worse during lockdown in the winter (they should have been done in the fall!) when we've been working and living in the house pretty much 24/7. If you've got some water damage, they can probably handle drying it out. Contracting services is not their forte. read more

In August 2018, we had a small water leak in our half bath. It damaged 2 walls, 2 pieces of baseboards, and about 10 pieces of laminate planks. We wanted to have the wall dried and the floor repaired. We searched online for a company that would do both, and Harris services caught our attention because of the following statement on their website "We will take on any size project with care and professionalism". We called Harris Services. A person came to examine the damage shortly. He also told us to contact our insurance company because the cost would be over our deductible. As for the repair part, we asked whether we could just repair the part of the floor that was damaged, and he said yes. He told us they were booked all the way until Labor day, but for a small project like this, they could easily squeeze it in before that. Now, please understand that the reasons why we only wanted to repair the damaged part of the floor were: 1. we just installed new laminate flooring in 2017, and we LOVE every aspect about our new floor and 2. when you are doing your research and dissertation, you just can't spend time on other things. We thought "if this project could be done by Labor Day, that would be perfect!" and signed the drying part of the contract. They quickly came in and tore out the damaged laminate planks and started the drying process. At the same time, the person told us that when our insurance adjuster came, he would be here because sometimes an adjuster misses an item or two. We set up a time that Harris Services, the adjuster, and us agreed on. However, when the adjuster arrived, no one from Harris Services showed up. We called, and they told us the person was in a meeting and someone else was supposed to come. The adjuster told us it was a good opportunity to get any floor that we had always wanted. For the reasons mentioned above, we asked the adjuster whether we could just repair the damaged floor damaged. The adjuster said it was totally fine, but he only had the option to describe the floor as continuous, which meant the insurance company would pay for replacing the entire floor. No one from Harris Services showed up before the adjuster left. At the end of August, our insurance company sent the estimate to us. We told Harris services that we would like to start the repair. After a week, the insurance specialist came to our house (late) to look at our insurance estimate. He noticed that some items were missing in estimate, so he would like to contact our insurance company first. We asked him if that was really needed since we were only repairing the floor. He gave us a few reasons to convince us that it was needed and said he would take care of this. In the middle of September, he came with another person to evaluate how to repair the floor. Not a word about replacing the entire floor was mentioned. In mid October, we saw that our insurance claim was closed and called Harris Services.The insurance specialist emailed us and told us that there was not much he could do about the insurance company and said that "You guys as the Policy holder have to find out why they would do that knowing it is not completed. You will have to keep on them unfortunately as they don't always respond quickly as we have found out". OK, we called our claim representative. She told us that she has never received any email from Harris Services. Hmm... She gave us an email that Harris Services could send information to and gave us a new estimate in a week. Finally, in November, they sent one person in to fix our floor. They had us sign a repair contract that he never gave us time to read. The person was dropping heavy tools on our undamaged floor and left many scratches. We noticed that a few new planks were damaged. We let him know about it, but he proceeded with the baseboards and told us he would only fix it if his boss tells him to do so. We contacted Harris Services about this, and they told us that as long as we don't sign the form that says we are satisfied with their services, everything would be fine. The repair person's boss came in and took pictures of the damaged planks, and set up a time to redo the flooring. The day before the repair, they told us the owner did not want to redo the floor because the damage is caused because we chose to repair. We either stop it here or let them replace the entire floor. We asked them for an estimate on replacing the entire floor and never got a response. On Jan 18, we received an email saying "The flooring issue that is the small chips we feel is from doing a repair as you wanted instead of the whole project, which consisted of flooring in kitchen and Livingroom, and we do not want to proceed any further on your project" that included our bill. The bill was issued on Dec 28, and we were left with only 10 days to pay without a penalty. Please notice that "the whole project" idea only came into the conversation after they talked to their owner. read more

Having recently remodeled a 1980s ranch, we thought it would be wise to have the ducts cleaned. Harris Services was all too eager to get the business. We provided the square footage on the small ranch house, and they gave us an estimate of $400-$500. It sounded steep, but they assured us they were fairly priced and that we needed the service. When they arrived for the appointment, 30 minutes late, they did a walk-through and provided us with the 'new' estimate- over $900!!! I questioned why the price had doubled, and the worker's response was, "Well I don't know who you talked to at the office." No apologies, no explanation. We SHOULD have refused the service at that time, but we, in turn, started chipping away at the total by taking off some vents and removing the anti-microbial cleaner (of which, they could provide no info on the benefits). The bill was now at $620. As if this isn't bad enough... About an hour into the service, an un-uniformed man walked right in the house, unannounced, and into the bedroom where I was working. Turns out he wanted to talk one of the workers about another job. The icing on the cake, they finish up and tell us that it looked like the job had been done recently. They had went into access panels that had been RECENTLY created. There was barely any dirt. Good to know. Thanks. read more

I called for duct cleaning. Lisa was friendly and helpful. She scheduled a quote in just a few days. The 2 workers arrived on time the next week and were professional. They found lots of terribly clogged ducts and seemed proud of their work! I would definitely recommend them. read more

On the recommendation of good friends who regularly use Harris Services, we made an appointment to have our suctwork cleaned for the first time (house built in 1922). I initially thought the estimate was high, but because our friends trusted them, we decided to go with Harris. The technician was friendly, professional, took time to explain everything and answer all questions, as well as shared the remote camera pictures with me when I asked. He took time to thoroughly clean each register and each return. We were very pleased and thought the service performed was well worth the price we paid. The scheduling staff were friendly and helpful as well. We will look forward to using Harris in the future for other services. read more

This company came out to give me a quote a month ago and still has yet to return the estimate to me. I have called twice to inquire about ti and both times I encountered an unfriendly and combative person on the line (who said she was the owner) who at first told me a week to get my estimate. When I called to follow up, I was told that I would have to wait another month to get it.!?! I asked if they could just get it to me quickly since I had already waited the said week and she then told me that people have been waiting since JULY! I cannot imagine! ADMITTEDLY INEFFICIENT AND PASSES THOSE INEFFICIENCIES ON TO THE CUSTOMER CONCERING COST. Unknown leak and had multiple contractors provide estimates for the investigation of the source. Harris provided us an estimate of $480 for 8hrs of work. What they didn't outline in their estimate is their disagreement of approach between their water specialist and construction personnel who apparently cannot visit a residence at the same time (maybe they are like Superman/Clark Kent). After 4+ trips of going back and forth between the crews, they FINALLY finish the investigation and proceed to have me pay the $480 bill which I only paid $400 due to a misunderstanding of an equipment charge. They then send me the estimate (almost $6,000) that included work that didn't need to be done according to insurance, multiple contractors, and what I relayed to them PRIOR to providing an initial estimate. The non-required work accounted for $3,700 of the total estimate. I sent back a negotiation on removing some unnecessary charges and coincidently less than two (2) hours later, I get a BRAND NEW BILL (not an estimate) for $778.23 for the same work I just paid them for! Therefore, they almost TRIPLED my investigation cost because they (from the owner) "spent time discussing what to do back at the office" when the initial person that came out the house said what the issue was in the first place! The worse part of this is the temporary fix they did. EVERY contractor that I've had come to the house has asked, "Why didn't they just fix the OSB rotted piece since they had the siding/shutters/gutter off anyways?" Inefficiencies is the answer. Inefficiencies as outlined by their owner Glenn Harris in a sit-down with him. What should have happened is the water specialist and construction crew should have been at my house AT THE SAME TIME to remove the trim around door (1st trip), remove dry wall (2nd and 3rd trip), pull back siding (4th trip), and provide temporary fix (4th trip). A possible one day investigation but instead they bounced me back and forth for weeks between the crews. Needless to say, the other quality construction companies are providing proposals considerably below Harris (with LABOR MINIMUMS included) and are well aware of the issues with the project. And as for Harris, they have walked away from the project leaving exposed walls, and a $1,200 bill to have "discussions" on how to find a leak behind the wall. Their company disagreements between the water specialist and construction crew are COMPLETELY unprofessional and have caused a lot of time and money to be thrown on me as the customer which absolutely unsatisfactory when it comes to proper customer service. I think they have quality employees, but their leadership and project management skills are not to the level that they advertise. ($480 - $6500 - $7300 IN ESTIMATED COSTS for a job that should cost $2,500 or less TOTAL) read more
