I'm commenting on poor store management as mentioned by the one star attitude of the store manager mentioned here on yelp and agreeing with Matt Haley's comment of a week ago on Google. Your checkout service is abysmal. And could your five male workers on duty last night been less helpful? I don't think so. Your self-checkout was overflowing and the three males who should have been supervising were talking loudly (football!) by the exit door and slapping each other's backs. Meanwhile, those trying self-checkout were on their own. Only ONE register was open and that young woman was moving as fast as she could but it wasn't fast enough. Seven of us were in line. I had only 12 items but there was no express lane (of the dozen or so available) open and I didn't have a VIC card and wanted to ask about one or have the clerk swipe the store's card. I watched the now four young men yakking it up by the door and thought about walking over there to say a) can't you see the people lined up ? (no, because it was at the other end of the cashiers and they were too busy cracking up to notice customers' needs. b) can't you open a cashier?, or c) if I go through self-checkout (still a mess!) will you swipe the VIC card but I'm disabled and it was, for me, a long walk. When my daughter and I finally got to check-out, I asked how I could get a VIC card and I was sent over to customer service. One of the young men was not taking care of a customer in front of me. So I waited for who I think is the store, manager, Jose, to recognize me. He was counting change. I stood in front of him at the customer service desk for four minutes. Never looked up. The other customer service man remained busy. This became a challenge so I just stood there staring at Jose at customer service. Nothing. Not even a glance up to say "im busy counting change but how can I help you?". One of the joking young men walked behind me and I turned and asked "how can I get an application for a VIC card?" and that man pointed at Jose and said "You need to speak to him". I said within earshot "Oh, the man who won't help me?". And I walled away. Never again. Send your joking young and Jose to Costco to see how self-checkout and customer service is properly run. They may see an invisible woman over 60 but you are quite wrong in underestimating me. Never again! and to add insult to injury, the packaged corn on the con that we purchased was moldy and the entire package thrown out. read more

I've stopped in to this Harris Teeter multiple times when up 29 for various reasons. I'm a little HT biased. I just prefer it to most other local grocery stores. Something about the lighting, the layout, etc already wins me over, and then their produce is usually better than competitors, plus they do a great own-brand organic line that is reasonably priced. This location seems to be less busy than the one at Barracks, but I guess that makes sense as it's less central to town. This Harris Teeter has a pharmacy, too! Which I wish the one at Barracks did. I used to always get my prescriptions from HT when we lived elsewhere, but changed my pharmacy when we moved to Cville because this HT is too far away from me. read more

My go-to grocery store. We have been going there since they opened and the store is still very clean and well-kept. Prices may be higher than Food Lion but the selection and quality of products is amazing. You can however get some good deals when things are on sale. The in-store pharmacy is great too. Zero complaints about this place and I'm a pretty picky person. read more

This Harris Teeter is a nice store. It is not the cheapest, but you can pretty much find anything you need there, including organic stuff, so I don't mind paying a little extra for that convenience. I'm really here to review the pharmacy. They helped me with a tricky transfer from an unresponsive pharmacy. The pharmacists always seem to go out of their way to help you. They seem to genuinely want you to be taken care of when it comes to your prescription needs. Bonus to have this wonderful pharmacy at the grocery store. They have an ATM too. They will make change for you at the customer service desk. It's one-stop shopping, especially with the coffee shop next door. You can get your iced latte to celebrate your successful shopping trip to Harris Teeter. You could say I'm a fan. read more

Great store to visit and shop with, but the pharmacy is the reason I am writing this review. Absolutely great staff, both pharmacists and the technicians. I went in there to get the second dose for the Covid vaccine, everything was performed in a textbook fashion. Recommend for anyone needing excellent professional healthcare. read more

This Harris Teeter location is easy to get to. There is plenty of parking and the shopping carts are always in the store ready for your visit. I have found if you have their (Vic Card) you can save a considerable amount off your grocery bill. The store is always clean, well organized, and the staff is friendly. During the day, there are plenty of ready to eat meals to take out with you. I enjoyed the chicken wrap I purchased! Being open 24 hours is a great benefit for this location and the communities it serves! They offer a service for a fee where you can order your groceries online and then pick them up at the store in a reserved parking space. A lady I know uses this service and has it found it extremely helpful for her busy schedule! read more

More grocery adventures =) I stopped in today to stock up our new condo; this HT is clean and easy to navigate, despite it being my first time in a HT, which is definitely a good thing. I was greeted warmly by every staff member that I encountered, and I enjoyed the variety of items in stock, especially their abundance of organic groceries. Although some items were definitely priced higher than other 'big box' stores, the low-stress environment and added convenience of being 24-hrs definitely entices me to become a repeat customer...I think next time I will get that 'VIC' (very important customer) card. read more

It saddens me to have to write this. I have been going to this store dunce it opened. There is one checker that I have been avoiding because of his constant obsession with a certain actor that has displayed public vulgarity. Today, I went to another checker in order to avoid him. Unfortunately this young man came over to bag and immediately went into his admiration for the actor. I immediately told him that I didn't want to hear one more word about that jerk. This grocery store is OK, but it's certainly not the area's best. The store is clean and easy to navigate. I like that all the cold items are kept in refrigerators with doors rather than open refrigerators. The produce section, however, is very small and it's mostly subpar. While I found some wonderful strawberries there yesterday, my other trips to the produce section in the last few weeks have been disappointing. The selection and quality at the Harris Teeter on Emmet Street is MUCH better than this one. I haven't tried the feature where you order your groceries online and they gather and bag them for you so all you have to do is pick them up. read more
