It's from 12/18/2017 but it is the sort of thing I would expect when dealing with a gas station sandwich shop. The problem is magnified by the fact that The Trading Post is a hub for area tradesmen, many of whom do not wear masks to protect themselves from Covid-19. So it's an easy path from customer, to their breathed-upon money, to the cashier, to that cashier also spewing his/her no-mask oral spray and Covid-19 fingers onto sandwiches, to the customer's stomach, to the emergency room and, finally, to the graveyard. All because some poorly trained individual couldn't be bothered or doesn't take this matter seriously. I have to agree with the reviewer that it is absolutely deplorable if the people at The Trading Posts are not, at least currently, taking this matter seriously. Questions: * Has any VDACS staff addressed this issue with The Trading Post? * Is VDACS requiring food handlers to wear masks and gloves? * If so, are there fines for noncompliance? * Does VDACS have any view about the The Trading Post's current health awareness? * What do I do if I witness open-food handling w/o masks or gloves? So, I then proceeded to look at the majority of them and they were mostly expired. When my food was ready and the person rang me up, I told her that the majority of the candy was expired. She said a vendor checked those not her. I told her that maybe she should make a call to her vendor because the majority are expired. She could have cared less. After I got to my destination to eat lunch with my husban, I opened my Coke product and it tasted horrible. I looked at the expiration date and it had expired in December 2023. I will never get any from that store again! Selling expired foods is not acceptable. I thought the health department comes to check these establishment. Be ware of this place!

The drug store is in the front and offers everything a typical pharmacy would sell only more old-timey. I felt like I was on the set of "Now and Then" or some other nostalgia era themed movie. Keep going and you'll hit the restaurant portion of the store which sells a variety of housemade soups, chili, sandwiches, lemonades, and more. The kiddos loved taking a seat at the long bar and ordering their milkshakes and the counter person was as nice as can be. My husband had a hankering for their homemade chili and thought it was delicious. It was a fond bonding moment for everyone!

You'd think with an entire chalkboard dedicated to pastrami sandwiches they would have a decent reuben. Not even close. The reuben was literally drenched in cheap plastic-bottled thousand island sauce (that salad dressing they sell at grocery stores). The meat was old. Sandwich was nothing short of disgusting. My mac salad just tasted like macaroni mixed in mayonnaise, although by comparison with the wet microwaved sandwich the mac salad was better. I also tried their egg cream soda, but as the photo shows, the waitress could not even be bothered to mix it: so it was chocolate syrup underneath a cup full of soda water, and thats it, which was hard to stir with a plastic straw. Service was bad too. Waitress took forever, never checked on us, spent a lot of time hanging out with the chef, and spoke negatively about customers right in front of them while talking to the chef. And the chef took an insane amount of time: over half an hour to make (including both my group and people ahead of us) less than ten simple, disgusting sandwiches. Worst meal I've had in years.
