This is a complaint re ordering party food on line. I arrived to pick up the order with an email confirmation and the store did not have it in their system and the food was not prepared. We ended up picking up sandwiches and some sweets at the Deli Dept. Ms. Rynn and Tiffany at the Bakery was very helpful in making some sandwiches and the message cookie in short notice. However, even with the helpful store personnel a ten minute catering order pick-up became a hour long trip. The delay caused needless distress and aggravation. I am extremely disappointed with the HT order on line system that would send out a confirmation email to the customer without confirming it at the store. read more

Love the fact that Harris Teetor in Corolla is open 24 hours. Had a bit of a late night emergency and called the store before heading out. The late night manager that answered the phone was extremely helpful. We found the over the counter meds we needed in the middle of the night and we're back home to our vacation rental in no time. Bought some shrimp today and found out when I got back to my rental place the shrimp was not good. Sent my husband back to return the shrimp and because he didn't have a receipt they didn't want to give him a refund. After much back and forth they finally relented. Will not be shopping there again this week. read more

This store has everything you could possibly need as well as a great staff. It is a bit more expensive than stores at home, but convenient. We had an issue with one of the fresh food items and the manager more than made up for the problem. I also liked the international young staff, hope they go home with a positive opinion of us. read more

I have to say, this is one full-featured grocery store. However, capacity is one of the biggest issues. On Saturdays and Sundays, many shelves are empty or lacking much of the stock they normally have. This is probably due to the huge influx in new families in town renting beach houses for the week, where most of the rentals start on Saturday or Sunday and that requires a shopping trip for food within the first couple days. Even when we went on a Tuesday, the grocery store was packed far beyond anything I've ever seen. There were two lanes in each aisle running each way and the registers were overloaded to a point that I waited 15 minutes to check out. While this isn't particularly troublesome for me, it may be for those in a rush to get food for dinner or for those who bring the whole family along. If I had to give a tip, I'd suggest bringing two people at most on the grocery trip and then just calling if questions arise. read more

Some other reviewer compared this place to Whole Foods or Wegmans. Don't believe it. Large sections of the meat and produce sections of the store were barricaded / shut down due to a complete lack of inventory; never seen such a thing before. Not a single piece of organic produce or grass fed meat to be found. I settled for some ground beef angus. When I got home, I discovered that the meat had been sprayed with something to make it look fresh / red on the outside, but the inside was brown and nasty. Seriously? This is the kind of unscrupulous shit I would expect from a Food Lion, not at Teeters. Do NOT recommend. Make the drive to Southern Shores location instead; mildly better there. read more

This is a great Teeter. Clean, well-maintained and the location was perfect for us while on vacation. You can get just about everything you need for the week there. Great beer selection including walk-in fridge. Staff very friendly. Even the sushi bar was great. Need I say more? read more

It's a nice clean store but not as nice as the one on Croatan Highway. We left didn't buy anything and went to the other.

Clean store with a large selection of items. Prices are pretty average. Would recommend this store. Also, there is a Starbucks inside.

Note to yelpers in the area- Bring a translator if you want deli meat. The entire crew is Russian. The entire shopping center seems to employee these half English speaking Europeans. They are polite and nicely mannered but it is extremely hard to order a half pound of genoa salami. I love Harris Teeter and shop regularly at the one off the parkway, seems odd they would employee most of the staff with foreigners. My family and I are on vacation with another family in Corolla, North Carolina. We have been coming to the Outer Banks at least every 2 years for the last 10 years and do our shopping at Harris Teeter when we are here. Tonight on the way home from dinner my wife and a friend were sitting in our car while myself and a friend went into the store to purchase ice cream for our children. While we were in the store my wife attempted to get out of the car and the alarm went off in the vehicle. My wife and friend attempted to reach us in the store, which has no service for AT&T users, and could not reach us. A male employee of Harris Teeter with white hair that was smoking in the parking lot at 9:50 approached the vehicle and addressed my wife and her friend, not checking on their safety, instead chastising them for calling on the phone rather than coming into the store to find us as we has the keys. He went as far as to threaten them to call the sheriff. Both his tone and threats are rude and unacceptable to customers that had a car alarm accidentally go off. If the alarm had accidentally gone off and no one was in the car would he have still called the sheriff? This is a very disappointing, frustrating and frankly infuriating way to deal with customers that were simply trying to purchase products in your store. I can guarantee that we will be looking for other alternatives like Food Lion for our purchases for the rest of the time we are here along as well as when we come back next June. That is not to mention when we return home. This experience on top of having to pay higher prices in general than the other local options. read more

I've been coming down here since 2001, and I have to say that compared to the Food Lion, I believe this store is okay at best. This store, ever since they merged with Kroger, seems to have been on a slow downhill decline and don't carry a few of their products I enjoyed anymore. First, their prices are super high to a point where its unreasonable. Every time I've shopped here, I've never had a time where, especially its a large order, its not close to or above $100, outrageous. Second, the management that runs this store needs to get their act together and start running this store more efficiently. Not having beef out in the case or subrolls ready at 9:30 in the morning in the peak of the summer tourist season is unacceptable, and they should know better. Maybe a shakeup at this level would be a fresh start. Third, they never have enough registers open and you always have to wait in a line of some form, and the store is annoying to navigate. I don't love this store, nor do I hate it, I just don't find it to be the upscale store they claim it is. Quite simply its overhyped and overrated, and above all, totally overpriced. I would recommend going down the road to Food Lion for a more cohesive and smoother shopping experience, and you will thank yourself and your wallet for it. read more
